I can’t listen to the latest Blocked and Reported podcast because it does things to my blood pressure when influential people repeat falsehoods about me but a friend listened to it and told me a couple of things about it that I’d like to immediately address. Apparently, Katie Herzog (who, remember, I’d been communicating with by email) said that my targets with the ‘Her’ stunt were transwomen.

Boy, if only there were some way of double-checking these things! Like say, emailing me back! Or looking at my website!

Here again for the principled journalists who couldn’t work up the courage to ask me for a quote, are some of the ‘transwomen’ or even ‘lesbians’ to whom I’m supposed to have been terribly unfair.

Katie also said I went onto the app and trawled through it looking for people to be mean to. I did no such thing. These photos were being circulated widely on Twitter and sent to me by lesbians who wanted me to bring attention to the fact that they don’t have female-only spaces anymore. They’ve been shouting about it for years, in fact, something Katie knows full well, unless this edge-sharp lesbian commentator has somehow never heard of the cotton ceiling.

I signed up to the app just to show I could, but thank you for immediately jumping to the worst possible conclusions about me!

Here’s my first question for you, Katie. Why didn’t anyone send it to you? Why aren’t you covering this? Why is it left to me to cover it?

And why are you defaming me based on evidence from the same people who have been lying about Jesse for three or four years?

This is the most homophobic movement I’ve ever seen. Yesterday a gay man was driven off Twitter for saying that straight women are not gay men. I know you’ve been through similar stuff and worse which makes it all the more enraging you decide to feed me to the crowd. Kathleen Stock did the same thing. Just like her, you KNOW what happens when people spread these rumours, when people paint you in the worst possible light, to make themselves look good in comparison.

You said I would misgender Buck Angel, I understand! I guess that was just a hunch because we followed each other on Twitter, were on good terms, and when he was being dogpiled, I said he was more of a man than his tormentors would ever be. But somehow you came to the conclusion that I would just casually insult him? Based on what, Katie? Where did you get this information? Why didn’t you email me if only to make sure it would stand up?

I’m fucking sick of you careerists. Jon Ronson does the exact same thing, lording it over the people who are trying to resist one of the worst assaults on women’s rights and gay rights in decades. I asked Jon if the men in the above photos were lesbians. He literally couldn’t answer the question. Another principled truth-teller.

What’s your answer to that question, Jesse and Katie? What’s the difference between these men in the above photos, and me?

Again, if you think my approach is distasteful, feel entirely free to take some of the pressure off. In the meantime, please don’t spread lies about me because you don’t have the courage to do your job. It is actually quite dangerous for me!
