Thanks as always, Graham.

I also concur with your wise words - and I can in fact confirm that JL is indeed great! Happy birthday!

The 6 year old boy in the abuse story is old enough to understand what happened to him and old enough to participate in the justice process. At every turn he will have been told by authority figures that it was a woman who did this to him. What impact is that going to have on a 6 year old, now and for the rest of his life? At 6 you believe everything adults tell you and imprint it in your mind. Who is he now going to be scared of? What will his future adult relationships with women be like? When he is older and normality resumed I hope he sues these enabling arsehole authorities who let him down.

Yes, you are absolutely right to be worried. Many adult men who attack women have in the past been abused by a woman (it happens, unfortunately) so we don't want to add to their number. My hope in this is that the boy will be quite able to recognise that it was a man who attacked him as they would share the same biology. Sill, all sexual offenders should lose the right to self identify and be known by their biological sex.

"Parents should be allowed to be listed in the most affirmative way on their child's birth certificate".

Uhhh, NOOOOO. No they shouldn't. Your child doesn't exist just to affirm your delusions you narcissistic fucktard.

Particularly because the document doesn't belong to the parents; it belongs to the child.

These people are such idiots.

Is it my imagination, or does practically every one of these people have multiple accounts where they beg for money from others to fund their delusions? The internet has a lot to answer for.

It's not your imagination. They grift for a living and have no shame about it.

That guy, Nate Bethea, is a really nasty piece of work. He's a journalist served in the US forces who writes about veterans. He was involved in the Bowe Bergdahl case.

I did some googling and found his profile on Muckrack - his twitter feed is an absolute binfire of seething rage.

I read somewhere that he hasn't been commissioned in 6 months and no wonder.

Interesting to hear.

Perhaps then, I shouldn't feel at all guilty about stamping that message on his greasy forehead!

I definitely wouldn't. He seems like an all round horrible person.

Yep, agreed.

The tweet from Mari is horrifying. Did the man not understand that men can't lactate? Even if they have grown breasts? And if he did, does he think that women breastfeed their babies for the "fun" or enjoyment of it?

Aside from sending horrible signals to a hungry baby that his breasts won't produce milk, it appears to be a way of satisfying the man. And by satisfying, does that mean emotionally or sexually? He's not paying any attention to the needs of the child.

Expand full comment

Men are being given hormones to help them lactate in some parts of the US. For this very reason... But there are no studies being done to find out what effect this "milk" will have on the child. Because the child is not seen as important, only the man is important... Everything I see coming from the US re these extremists makes me incredibly sad. Someone needs to say "enough is enough" and stop it.

Yes unfortunately Brexit will tie Britain ever more inextricably to American cultural dementia. Not that the problem is non existent in Europe but generally the checks and counter balances here work reasonably well to prevent these aberrations becoming endemic. Still generally I'm edified to see the response of the British public on forums such as Graham's because of course the "someone" who needs to say "enough is enough" is you and me. And that seems to be happening. So I see in the resistance of my countrymen and women a model which will be invaluable when the trans imperialist offensive sets its sights on Europe as it inevitably must because it's a basically profit driven enterprise which can't ignore a market the size of the EU.

And note that he referenced the baby as "they". Is he going to bring up the child as trans or non-binary? whatever those words mean.

And what is it with those Labour loonies? They look idiotic playing with their colored pieces of paper. I know, I know, they identify as kindergarteners.

"But how difficult is it to acknowledge that not everyone capable of giving birth identifies with the female or woman label".

One of the thousands of stupid little tricks they have is this business of calling ordinary nouns "labels". Producers stick labels on their produce so you know whether you're buying strawberry or raspberry jam. But when you go to the beach nobody's stuck labels on the sea and sky to ensure you don't mix the two up. Sea and sky are not labels because these things are not in need of any kind of qualification. Sea and sky are simple nouns. Sea and sky are what they are and these things they are, are denoted by consensus by these two nouns. Woman is not a label but a noun which enables objective identification of the sex class whose reproductive system made large immotile gametes and - all being well - would be able to conceive, bear and give birth to children. People don't need or have labels of this sort. A noun isn't something you choose or not to identify with. It's just something which tells you and others something about what you objectively are. If the sea starts identifying as sky we're going to get ourselves in an awfully mess. People may identify as whatever gender they like as that is a matter only of interest to themselves and no-one else should need to be involved but what sex people objectively are will be of interest to others in some situations. We need nouns in these situations to denote a person's sex whereas a label would be fine to denote gender. A person who can or has given birth is a woman. If that woman claims a gender identity as a man AND had some

strange need for others to affirm that identity then we need words that separate gender from sex. Because the madness of saying "the man gave birth last week" is unsustainable. To say "the trans man have birth last week" helps if we're familiar with the trans universe because we know trans man denotes a woman. It matters to know that "the woman who sexually assaulted a child in a park" is a man. So call him a trans woman in the news report so we're not in doubt. Or write a man claiming to be a woman, of we don't know for sure that the person trans identified. But don't write "a woman sexually assaulted a child" unless it really was a woman or a trans man. Cos that's like saying we went for a swim in the sky today.

Thanks for this GL. Except for the shining light that is Meghan Murphy, Canadian journalism on this issue is an absolute disgrace. They're cowed by the woke stasi, or stupid, or both. That's why I have to come here.

I feel really sorry for Dominic Lauren (the one in transwomyn's tweet) because she is slightly intersex (has a large clitoris and produces a lot more testosterone than most women) and I feel because of that, she was experimented on by endocrinologists. See her video with Benjamin Boyce.
