America is gradually waking up to the madness that overtook the middle class Left while everyone was distracted by the antics of Donald Trump.
More and more stories relating to gender identity ideology are piquing the interest of a previously disinterested US audience. The Wi Spa saga, Dave Chappelle’s Netflix special and an elderly Vietnam vet facing cancellation for stating biological facts have all received mainstream media coverage in recent months.
But now, a story is emerging which is bigger than all of them, and certainly more shocking.
First, a little history. In August, the Loudoun County School Board, a group of nine people who manage 94 public schools in Loudoun County, Virginia, passed a gender identity policy to allow boys to use facilities for girls, such as restrooms, if they identify as girls, and for sex-based protections for girls in sports to be removed. Seven of the nine members of the board voted for the policy.
This led to much criticism, most notably from right-wing commentator Matt Walsh, who rented a home in Virginia so he could tell the board the following.
“You only give us 60 seconds so let me get to the point. You are all child abusers. You prey upon impressionable children and indoctrinate them into your insane ideological cult, a cult which holds many fanatical views, but none so deranged as the idea that boys are girls and girls are boys. By imposing this vile nonsense on students to the point even of forcing young girls to share locker rooms with boys, you deprive these kids of safety and privacy and something more fundamental, which is truth. If education is not grounded in truth, then it is worthless, worse, it is poison. You are poison. You are predators.”
At approximately the same time, there have been calls to regulate or even end the practice of having public school board meetings altogether, on the basis that they have become too aggressive in recent months. It was in this atmosphere that Joe Biden’s Attorney General announced he was directing the FBI to address and prosecute threats from parents made at these meetings. In the media reports surrounding the event, one piece of footage has been ubiquitous: An angry man being dragged away from a meeting by police. No details emerged about what had led to his arrest. Until now.
We now know that the man in the picture is Scott Smith, and he was dragged away from a meeting this June, just days after his daughter was allegedly brutally raped by a boy wearing a skirt in a girls’ school toilet, in late May.
This happened BEFORE the board voted to make it even easier for boys to access girls’ spaces.
This is only the first of many disturbing details in the case.
Not the least of which is the fact that the school has been accused of covering it all up. According to the report, other parents were told an incident had occoured but there was no mention of sexual assault. Smith was told his daughter had been physically assaulted, not sexually, and staff told him it would be handled internally, without the need for police involvement.
He was enraged by that decision and challenged them in person on it, which led to the school board - which had refused to call the police when a pupil had been raped - calling the police because the father of the victim had made a scene. This, however, led to his daughter being taken to hospital where it was confirmed that she had been sexually assaulted.
A few weeks later at the school board meeting, Loudoun County School Superintendent Scott Ziegler said: “To my knowledge, we don’t have any record of assaults occurring in our restrooms … the predator transgender student or person simply does not exist.”
During the same meeting, Smith allegedly revealed what had happened, only for a well known ‘activist’ to tell him his daughter was lying and that she would destroy his business. Enraged, he began to swear at her, which led to the police very publicly dragging him away and charging him with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The county prosecutor, who knew about the allegations surrounding Smith’s daughter, then allegedly pushed for him to be jailed.
The boy, who’s been described as someone who occasionally wears dresses, has since been charged with two counts of forcible sodomy; one of anal sodomy and one of forcible fellatio, and the court hearing was due to take place this month.
A few days ago the boy was arrested again - for sexual battery and abduction on another girl at another public school, just 2.5 miles away, in an incident that allegedly took place earlier this month. It’s no longer clear if the court case will go ahead this month, and the latest arrest appears to be the reason why the whole story has come to light in the last few days.
In his interview with the Daily Wire, the father said he doesn’t care what the boy identifies as or what his sexuality is, but sexual predators will see self ID as an opportunity. “Kids are using it as an advantage to get into the bathrooms,” he said.
Under Loudoun County’s relaxed policy on single-sex provision, a boy, while dressed in a skirt, entered the female toilets of a Loudoun County public school and raped a young girl.
In response, the school refused to contact the police or notify other parents that their daughters may have been at risk of sexual assault.
A senior manager of public schools then implied that the story wasn’t true, resulting in a man being publicly shamed - even though the manager almost certainly knew his daughter had been raped a few days earlier under his watch.
Just days after the rapist was arrested, the school board voted overwhelmingly to relax the single-sex provision even further. And, somehow, while this was going on, the rapist was placed in another Loudoun County public school, where he was given further access to girls - and committed another sexual assault.
As the story is gaining momentum there are growing calls for resignations at the top of the Loudoun County Public School system.
Surely it goes beyond that now. Some of these board members deserve to go to jail. And the various voices that have been trumpeting support for Self ID, despite the obvious and predictable consequences about which they were all comprehensively and repeatedly warned, now have Scott Smith’s daughter and at least one other young woman on their conscience.
