Someone pointed out that the insult ‘fat’ undermines the argument. They’re right, of course. It just reads better.

I don’t think it does - plus as a woman of middle aged spreadness I believe I have the right to call people fat if they are. It’s an adjective. I actually find delight in the alliterative phrase “you fat fuck”

What's an easier mark than a woman to bully and harass? A dead one that can't defend herself of course! Magdalen was a better person than he could ever aspire to be. It requires a modicum of integrity for a start adn while he clearly has none, she had it in spades!

I’m so sad that I only heard of Magdalen literally days after she died.

My favourite quote “I’d rather be rude than a fucking liar”. RIP

Same here. I got a print of that quote from Birdy Rose and it now hangs in my Vermont home with my gay memorabilia that goes back more than 50 years.

I need to get that print and hang it right opposite the kitchen door!

I love Magdalen. I saw a link to one of her videos on your Twitter around 4 years ago, and went down a rabbit hole I’ve never come out of.

She was brave, funny and fearless.

That failed comedian is an obsessive, with no real arguments to make, picking on selected quotes from a dead woman.

How convenient for him that Magdalen is not here to wipe the floor with him.

Love that saying “ wipe the floor”- reminds me of my Mum who was so good at it ☺️ (RIP Mum)

It’s the mental image that’s so effective 😁

Can you imagine the YouTube video she would have done on a misogynist scrot like him?

I was looking for stuff relating to Father Ted on t'internet, came across Graham being called names I had never heard, and his twitter and fell down a wonderful Magdalen rabbit hole. I still think her videos are a great starting point for people and have pointed people in that direction.

This has never occurred to me, but Magdalen is bang on the money.

Just think about it, you can’t even show re runs of shows from the past with entertainers in blackface as it’s considered so offensive to imitate someone else’s oppressed heritage. Hell, there’s even POC who are affronted by white people having their hair in dreadlocks because it’s appropriating culture.

And society is acutely aware and accommodating to this.

So where is the difference in men imitating race which is so frowned upon, but appropriating another oppressed group, discriminated for their sex/gender this time, is not even given the same respect? We are even attacked for daring to complain we don’t want these black face gender cuckoos in our single sex nests.

I suppose it’s the age old reason for this. Because we’re women and considered easy to push around.

Yes. It’s called misogyny. There’s nothing at all rational about it. Gerda Lerner said in “The Creation of Patriarchy” that patriarchy has been shown to have begun by historical process, and so can be ended by historical process. I’m seeing this as the last desperate grasp to enact full-blown male supremacy and outright worship of a distorted masculine dominator ideal. I’d rather die than sit back and go along with it. It is in fact amazing that the blackface comparison is missed by most. Strange.

Isn’t it? Never even occurred to me before

Isnt it funny how it’s the gC movement that TRA’s are always accusing of being obsessed with genitals, when it is them who threaten to slit their wrists if they’re kept on waiting lists longer than 3 months to go through 4 stages of irreversible surgery to have their penis cut off and have their perineum cored like an apple 🍏 so they can call the resulting wound a vagina.

But ofcourse, it’s us that’s obsessed.

“Of course you're afraid, Alex. They cut your cock off.”

God that woman was great.

The penny just dropped for me why we are so, so far behind here in the US, in this debate. Here in the US, if we're doxxed, we risk losing our job, and if we lose our corporate job, there goes our health insurance, for ourselves and our families.

Without insurance, our ghastly medical bills may reach $50,000 or $100,000's or $1,000,000s, or more, for medical expenses—for cancer treatment, or for an underinsured auto accident, or treatment for a chronic health condition. Patients are then dunned by hospitals & health corporations, and end up losing their houses, savings accounts, etc. They often have to declare bankruptcy and/or go without treatment. For treatable conditions.

For the vast majority here, health ins is tied to our employment. It's not just that trans bullies can cost ppl a business or career, or job—as outrageous as that is. It’s also the devastating loss of medical care that is tied to the job, the way health ins is structured.

Is that why debate is more subdued here? Just a theory. But if true, then we US residents with iron-clad resources/pensions need to be louder than our country fellows and sisteren. We need to channel our inner Magdalen.

Thank you for the Magdalen link, Graham. And thank you, Fred, for the birdyrose link.
