Women in New Zealand need your help

Tonight I spoke to Beth Johnson of Speak Up For Women, New Zealand, where the Government are trying to ram through a Self ID bill.

As Beth points out, NZ is a day ahead so there’s only a day left to contribute to the consultation. PLEASE DO SO! It only needs to be a sentence or two, but let them know how you feel about Self ID. Be specific if you can. After all, there is no lack of evidence that it’s a dangerously dumb idea. Just look at the Wi Spa and the subsequent cover-up at the Guardian. Or last night’s disgraceful events in Miami.

We also today did a Mess We’re In, which is a little bit low key because honestly the Miami thing really knocked me back. I can’t believe it happened, to be honest. I can’t believe someone let it happen.

I also wish we’d been able to talk about how, under Keir Starmer’s watch, a woman is not safe at the Labour conference.
