Monday 23rd November - Labour Losing Women
WPUK: The Labour Party is still silencing women and shutting down debate around gender identity ideology.
Last week a motion was presented to a virtual meeting of Portsmouth Labour Party members. It called for broader debate around the Gender Recognition Act and support for the right of women to self-organise, campaign and advocate for women’s sex-based rights within the party.
This motion was sabotaged from the outset by the inclusion of an amendment which altered its original purpose to such an extent that the word woman was removed. Honest discussion was not permitted. An opponent of the motion was invited by the Chair to speak, at length, on two occasions. However, the women who had planned to speak in favour had their “hands up” via zoom but were never unmuted.
The proposer was never given the opportunity to respond to the amendment, which neither she nor the seconder had actually seen before it was introduced.
In protest, some women, including the proposer, held up signs which read “Silencing women”. The chair asked the proposer to remove the sign and, when she refused, her camera was switched off, as were the cameras of the other protestors.
The motion passed, but it bore so little resemblance to the original that its proposers had no option but to vote against it.
Tuesday 24th November - Even a List of Women Isn’t Just For Women
Yet again the BBC’s 100 Women List is actually made up of 99 women and one trans-identified male.
In 2013 the BBC pledged to better represent women in its international news output and launched the 100 Women list. But this initiative was totally undermined only a year later when the list included drag character, Conchita Wurst, the onstage persona of an Austrian man called Thomas Neuwirth.
Last year the 100 Women list included transwoman Nisha Ayub, a transgender rights campaigner from Malaysia, in 2018 it featured transwoman Ophelia Pastrana, “An outspoken transgender media personality” from Columbia, in 2016 it included transwoman Seyan Arman, a DJ and entertainer from Turkey…
This year’s list has just been published and, yet again, it includes a trans-identified male. Amongst all the inspirational and pioneering female scientists, teachers, sportswomen, activists etc is transgender model, Lea T, who has “Graced the pages of many high-profile publications, including Marie Claire, Grazia and Vogue”.
Wednesday 25th November - Even a Day About Women Isn’t Just For Women
Even on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the focus had to be shifted on to transwomen.
The Independent published an open letter signed by a number of celebrities pledging ‘solidarity’ with transwomen who, it claims, experience ‘significantly higher’ levels of violence. Of course, the usual suspects - Ash Sarkar, Nichola Coughlan, Jameela Jamil, and Labour MPs, Nadia Whittome and Zarah Sultana - were amongst those queuing up to obfuscate a day that is supposed to highlight violence against women.
The letter states: "Trans women are more likely to be murdered, more likely to be victims of violent attacks in their own homes, and more likely to be homeless, again increasing the risk of violence, than their cis sisters.”
But not one transwoman has been been murdered in the UK in the past year. Over 150 women have been killed in that time, though. Indeed, one ‘cis sister’ is killed by male violence every three days.
If Jamil, Whittome, Coughlan et al really gave a toss about murdered transwomen, they’d acknowledge the truth; that they are overwhelmingly from Latin American, of disadvantaged backgrounds and often involved in prostitution. Their dishonesty is of no benefit to the people who really need their care and protection.
Furthermore, Trans Day of Remembrance was only a week ago. Why wait until a day focused on women to publish this letter?
Thursday 26th November - “Happy Thanksgiving, Punch a Terf…”
THE POSTMILLENNIAL: Rewire News Group are advocating violence against women at Thanksgiving.
In the run up to Thanksgiving, Rewire News Group offered advice to their 70k+ followers about dealing with ‘toxic’ family members over the holiday season. It placed “The TERF” on a list including Trump supporters and Covid-deniers.
Their advice seemed to centre around “Launching assorted foodstuffs” at any women who refuse to be ground under the heel of gender identity ideology.
“Throw the turkey at them… A pie also works, and offers an added comedic effect.”
Rewire News Group’s legal fellow, Caroline Reilly, even wrote an accompanying article about how to denigrate and abuse other women.
Which probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with her work.
Friday 27th November - And Now For The Bad News
LABOUR LIST: The Labour Party has appointed Jane Ramsey to head up the establishment of a new independent complaints process for internal disciplinary matters.
Jane Ramsey trained as a barrister, has experience in the health sector and is currently the chair of Young Epilepsy. Will her appointment be good news for Labour women who, like those mentioned above, are being silenced and censured and prevented from discussing their sex-based rights?
Probably not.
Saturday 28th November - Farewell to Argentinian Women’s Football
SPORT BIBLE: A trans-identified male has been cleared to play on a women’s football team in Argentina.
The Argentinian Football Association has approved a trans-identified male to play on a women’s first division team. Striker, Mara Gómez, signed to Villa San Carlos earlier this year and, following permission from the AFA, will now play his first game with the team next week.
Argentina’s first professional women's football league was launched a little over a year ago and already valuable opportunities for female players are being lost to males.
But Mara Gomez has a message for those protesting the unfairness of his competing on a women’s team: “Suck my cock”.
Sunday 29th November - Even a Breastfeeding Meeting Isn’t Just For Women
MAIL ON SUNDAY: A breastfeeding charity is allowing trans-identified males to attend meetings intended for new mothers struggling to feed their babies.
The British branch of La Leche League runs 80 local groups in which a group leader and nursing mothers will discuss problems and issues arising from their experience of breastfeeding and exchange help and advice. The LLLGB has come under fire for its policy of allowing trans-identified males to attend these meetings.
A statement on the charity's website reads, “Trans men, trans women and non-binary individuals may choose to breastfeed or chestfeed their babies. You do not need to have given birth to breastfeed or chestfeed”.
Helen Lloyd, chairman of La Leche League GB, told the paper that the group leaders would never question a member’s ‘gender identity’ and that the charity’s policy of inclusivity means male attendees will not be challenged at its meetings. You know, the meetings at which new mothers discuss intimate issues and breastfeed their babies.
This policy has received a negative response on Mumsnet. A former La Leche leader described her sorrow at the charity’s loss of focus on mothers and babies. She said, “LLLGB should not be promoting the idea that males can induce lactation to feed a baby. There is no evidence to say this is safe, only an anecdotal example of a case where a doctor in the US enabled this to happen using off label drugs”.
Another user commented, “It is a particular female experience and it is not up for grabs”.
Indeed.
See you next week.
Another fantastic update, JL. Every day there is something about this movement that just shocks me even more. Just when you think you've heard it all....
"Helen Lloyd, chairman of La Leche League GB, told the paper that the group leaders would never question a member’s ‘gender identity’ and that the charity’s policy of inclusivity means male attendees will not be challenged at its meetings."
Imagine being a new mother who has rocked up to a LLL meeting with their newborn babe in good faith - only to encounter a grubby fetishist using you all as props to his masturbatory pursuits? Imagine then when you understandably complain, but the facilitator is stymied into inactivity because of their "policy of inclusion"? The day when WOMEN have to beg to be included in groups designed exclusively for them is probably not far away, sadly.
