Hello lovely readers. I’m delighted to bring you a few of this week’s good news stories from the gender beat.
News Of The Week!
After a nightmarish year for her and her family, the charges against Marion Millar have been dropped.
The Crown Office has confirmed that it has discontinued all proceedings.

Retraction Of The Pink Porkies
Pink News has been forced to climb down over an article it published last May.
The article was written by theythemer, Vic Parsons, about the alleged experience of lesbian-turned-trans-activist, Amy Dyess. It was a frankly laughable tale about a shadowy gender-critical cult operated by an ‘international network of powerful lesbians’. However, it made some serious allegations regarding sexual abuse, grooming and coercion.
Following legal action, Pink News has been forced to apologise to Julie Bindel and issued a statement that “The article made a number of serious allegations of misconduct and PinkNews accepts that if the allegations were understood to refer to Julie, they would be wholly untrue”.
Furthermore, the article has been removed from its site and Pink News has said it will revise its editorial processes. (Pink News has ‘editorial processes’??)
Women Of Westminster Won’t Wheesht
Miriam Cates, MP for Penistone and Stocksbridge, was interviewed on GB News and talked about the issues and dangers of self ID.
She began by saying that, as a scientist, she doesn’t believe it is possible to change one’s sex and went on to describe the problem with allowing men to identify as women. “If we start to say that you can self-identify as any sex you want, any gender you want, then we inherently have a problem and a conflict with women's rights and that’s something we need to talk about.”
MP for Guildford, Angela Richardson, called out a shocking tweet from a serving police officer and co-chair of the police force’s national LGBT+ network. The comment, “Stop recording women as victims then”, was made in response to Priti Patel’s challenge to the recording of transwomen in female crime statistics.
Angela Richardson wasn’t having it. “Shocking when we are trying to tackle #VAWG.”
In the House of Lords, Baroness Claire Fox, president of the Institute of Ideas, used a question about the appointment of a new Ofcom chair to raise the ‘malign influence’ of Stonewall. “Will the minister note that one issue the new Ofcom chair needs to urgently address is an egregious example of compromised media impartiality due to the powerful lobby group, Stonewall?”
Trans on Tape
Helen Joyce’s book is now available in an audio version!
Leaving Kids Alone
Government proposals could criminalise those who try to persuade children to ‘change their gender’.
New legislation which seeks to outlaw ‘conversion therapy’ for LGBT people will include particular safeguards for adolescents.
Under government proposals, medical professionals such as psychiatrists and doctors will not be sanctioned but all other counselling offered to children under 18 will be outlawed. Government sources suggested that this legislation could put Mermaids on the wrong side of the law.
The ‘conversion therapy’ legislation will be introduced following a short consultation period so make sure your voice is heard before 10th December.
Never Knowingly Underwritten
That John Lewis advert has been withdrawn from broadcast as it is ‘potentially misleading’.
(Though, if you ask me, a petulant brat in a frock deliberately smashing up stuff that belongs to women provided us with the perfect allegory for trans activism…)
This is hilarious - watch to the end!
#ChalkAboutIt
A great bit of activism this week when women took to the streets with their chalk.
Well this has given my mood a nice lift!
And may I compliment you on how beautifully you word it, re the John Lewis ad - ".......a petulant brat in a frock deliberately smashing up stuff that belongs to women provided us with the perfect allegory for trans activism…"
Absolutely!
I was at a workshop today about human rights and women. I was pleasantly surprised that LGBTI+ was only mentioned once in the hour and a half discussion. The rest of the time was a discussion about women and girls and their rights. I feel so much better today... We may yet be on the right side of the mountain.
