What we need is for organisations en masse to state they will use the Equality Act as their guidance, as they are legally obliged to do. And to say that trans people have the same rights and protections as everyone else. No one should be stopping trans people from living their life as they choose, but legal recognition of the opposite sex needs checks and balances. While the process of acquiring a GRC might need revamping, self-id with no consideration for the impact on women's rights is NOT the way forward.
