Monday 25th January - Murderer Refused SRS Surgery
THE TIMES: A prisoner serving a life sentence for murder has had his sex reassignment surgery cancelled.
Paris Green claims to have been identifying as a woman since 2011 but was still known by his original name, Peter Laing, when he was convicted of murder in 2013. Together with two other men, he tortured and sexually assaulted his victim, Robert Shankland, before beating him to death.
Green was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years imprisonment and began serving his sentence at Cornton Vale women’s prison. However, within weeks of being there, he was caught having sex with female inmates and moved to HMP Edinburgh.
In 2018 Green was granted permission to have sex reassignment surgery. The treatment would have required a 1000 mile round trip to a clinic in Brighton and a 24 hour armed guard throughout his recuperation. While waiting for his surgery, Green was accommodated on the prison’s female wing.
Now Green’s surgery has been cancelled as it seems the clinic involved is worried about the risk to other patients of having a convicted murderer on the premises.
He posed exactly the same risk to the women with whom he was accommodated in prison, though they were clearly not deemed worthy of such concern.
Tuesday 26th January - The New Misogyny
THE SPECTATOR: Trans activists are hounding women out of public life.
“Across our public institutions women are being harassed and, in some instances, fired for not adhering to the new gender identity orthodoxy.”
The article references academics such as Selina Todd, Alice Sullivan and Kathleen Stock who have all been no-platformed, abused and had their careers threatened. Trans activists try to exploit the media coverage they’ve had in an effort to deny that women face harsh consequences for challenging gender identity ideology.
“There are countless young, often working-class women and women of colour, that do not have a public profile, who have lost jobs, been bullied and labelled bigots and transphobes… Women are now afraid to speak for fear of being attacked, harassed, hounded, and fired. We need to think about the world that this approach has led to.”
Wednesday 27th January - No Country For Bold Women
Nicola Sturgeon threw women under the bus this week by issuing a statement about “transphobia” on social media.
She expressed her sorrow over people leaving the party because they don’t feel ‘safe’ or ‘welcomed’, parroting the usual “No debate” rhetoric. (No debate in a political party? Is that what passes for democracy these days?)
Her statement was made after a handful of sulky gender tots spat their dummies because Justice Secretary, Humza Yousaf, introduced an amendment to his hate crime bill which would allow women to discuss their rights without being deemed criminals. As For Women Scotland put it, “She sought to reassure an increasingly angry and emotional niche group in her party wedded to identity politics”.
Writing in The Herald, Kevin McKenna pointed out, “Unless you believe that to express reasonable concerns about women’s sex-based rights in the SNP’s proposed gender reform proposals is a hate crime there is little evidence that the party has a problem with transphobia. Ms Sturgeon thinks differently.”
Of course, Nicola Sturgeon failed to mention the hundreds of women leaving the party because they do not feel ‘safe’ or ‘welcome’ nor did she talk about the appalling abuse and threats that Joanna Cherry and Joan Macalpine have suffered.
Sturgeon’s video was swiftly followed by a formal SNP statement, echoing her words and expressing the need for an agreed definition of ‘transphobia’ within the party. To help them determine this definition SNP leaders have ‘reached out’ to Out for Indy, “The official LGBTQ+ wing of the Scottish National Party”.
The Co-Vice Convenor of Out For Indy is trans-identified male, Leeze Lawrence.
Lawrence clearly doesn’t have much respect for women or women’s rights.
One of the people described by Nicola Sturgeon in her video as “A credit to our party and our country”.
Thursday 29th January - And It’s No Better At The Greens
There’s no respect for women’s rights and voices over at The Green Party either.
In response to the tweet above, one party member made a shocking revelation about an email she had received from the Green’s LGBTQI+ group.
The email urges members not to include motions about women’s rights.
Trans identified male, Kathryn Bristow (about whom we’ve written at length on this site before), is the co-chair of Green Party Women. He’s also the policy officer at the Green Party’s LGBTQI+ group, the organisation currently telling the party’s women to shut up about their rights.
Friday 29th January - Witch-Hunting Twitter Style
Drinks company, Innocent, unfollowed a woman on Twitter after a random anonymous account demanded that they do so.
Someone called ‘Andrew?’ who has only 12 followers accused 76 year old retired teacher and humanist celebrant, Margaret Nelson, of being a transphobe and demanded that smoothie company, Innocent, unfollow her. Innocent, which is owned by drinks giant, Coca Cola, immediately complied.
This isn’t Margaret Nelson’s first experience of trolls. Two years ago she was reported to Suffolk police after making comments on social media about gender identity ideology. The police instructed her to ‘tone down’ her tweets. Suffolk police subsequently had to apologise to Margaret because, of course, she’d done nothing wrong and certainly wasn’t in breach of the law.
Writing in The Spectator, transwoman, Debbie Hayton, describes how accusations of ‘transphobia’ have become an easy way to silence the women who challenge the rhetoric of gender identity ideology.
“The trans debate can be a nasty one. And when women (and it usually is women) have the courage to speak out, they face being shamed and silenced… Nonentities on the internet make false accusations all the time; what's astonishing – at least where 'transphobia' is cited – is the way that corporations react.”
Saturday 30th January - First Do No Harm
THE TELEGRAPH: Psychiatrists fear that children are being coached into giving the ‘right’ answers in order to be prescribed puberty blockers.
The Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust has been granted the right to appeal against the High Court ruling in the Keira Bell case. At a preliminary hearing on Friday two senior judges gave permission to Dr David Bell, the former governor at the Tavistock, to intervene in the case.
Dr Bell’s lawyers told the court that he wants to discuss concerns expressed to him by staff at the clinic. These include the fear that children have been ‘coached’ by peers, internet sites and even their own parents in order to provide rehearsed answers when questioned by medical professionals about their gender dysphoria.
Sunday 31st January - Room For One More On The Bandwagon
THE SUNDAY MIRROR: Eddie Izzard has announced that he intends to become the “UK’s first transgender MP”.
Labour Party activist, Izzard, told the paper, “I wish to stand, I wish to be considered for a constituency, I would love to be elected”.
This isn’t the first time he’s expressed political aspirations; a decade ago he told the BBC that he intended to run as an MP, for mayor or as an MEP by 2020. He reiterated his ambitions last year. Speaking on Tom Watson’s podcast he said, “I want to be a Member of Parliament. I was trying to get in at the last election. I absolutely, definitely want to get in at a by-election or at the next general election”.
In 2016 and again in 2018 Izzard ran for a seat on the Labour Party’s National Executive Committee. He failed to get elected on both occasions.
That was back when he described himself as a transvestite and made no claim on womanhood or of being trans. Perhaps his new-found pronouns and ‘permanent girl mode’ have come at a very convenient time.
See you next week.
Before it's done, the trans agenda is going to tear apart all the progressive political parties.
Hi Graham, I am not actually sure how to contact you, so I am leaving a message here to let you know some of the woke greens are beginning to froth at the mouth a little One charming chap has started a petition to get me ousted (I am the other co chair of green party women - an actual womanish woman) . Apparently all transphobes are automatically eugenicist anti Semites as well.
