I'm surprised. CBS is about as trans / queer saturated as one can get. Horrible right-wing in the all worst ways propaganda network.

I liked Sedaris's take on National Public [sic] Radio's announcers' voices: The men all sound like Truman Capote and the women all sound like Bella Abzug.

Great to start the day with a smile and a bit of hope. Thanks JL love these posts so much.

Ah I'm SO glad you enjoyed them, CB. Thank you for your kind words.

I've said it before but thank goodness for the good news! The one I am particularly pleased about (though I am pleased with them all), is the reinsertion of the word "woman" in maternity legislation in Ireland. I do hope they are specific about what one is though! Also, I'd like to hire that cat. I think it would do a better job than many of the people I have to work with! :D

Thank you, BlackieKat! (And, yes, I think ALL businesses would benefit from the addition of a cat!) x

I've just signed and saw it has over 13,000 signatures already. I'm not surprised, it is off the fucking scale of abuse and discrimination. It's also illegal. Where the hell does a hospital get off when they've taken someone's money for treatment, then withholds it because she doesn't share its values?

Since when was that a criteria for offering and delivering a service to anyone? The female patient made a thoroughly reasonable request, I know it's reported that she'd been the victim of sexual abuse or assault, so had a need not to have a man see to her intimate care. But all women can want that, they don't have to give a reason other than it's what they want, no further explanation required.

I'm Muslim and I don't want a man attending me me in this way. But lots of non Muslim women feel exactly the same. We can ask for this, it's our right, and it should be respected and given without question.

But a vile, misogynistic, sexually exploitative cult has crawled onto the backs of dysphoria and homosexuality and has become a life draining parasite. It's causing people to become disorientated and creating opportunities for individuals and organisations whose sole aim is to gain more influence and make a lot of money.

One way or another it has to be got rid of.

You make an interesting point in para 2. My understanding of the law is that the hospital has acted illegally, as a belief in biological sex is a protected characteristic under the 2010 Equalities legalisation as affirmed by recent courts cases (Maya Forstarter etc). Women (and men) also have the right to single (biological) sex facilities and care.

Expand full comment

But do hospitals have the right to withdraw life-saving from anyone? Even avowed racists, let's say?

Agree with you 100%. But at this moment it still feels like we are screaming into the void. Thanks for signing 🙏

On Mermaids. I note from previous post that Mermaids turnover was £1.8m in the last accounting year, £1.6m came from donations. So far, the National Lottery and Children in Need have suspended this year's funding. I am pretty certain that Tesco was going to give them a few hundred grand this year (they have given in the past). I recall a big box for Mermaids on the community giving page on their corporate website a few months ago. This has now disappeared suggesting they have suspended or even pulled funding. Have other organisation suspended or pulled funds - publicly or privately? Without donations Mermaids cannot exist (Susie Green et al will have to find new jobs!).

I wonder if this will lead to all organisations being a bit more enquiring about 'charities' they wish to sponsor and avoid those which are controversial. I wonder also if CEOs will become a bit more hands on with such decisions rather than leave them to woke junior staff whose world view is informed by twitter? Mermaids will live to regret taking LGBTA to court. Hubris.

Also great to see that, conversely, good women with the safety of women and girls at heart such as Commissionaire Lisa Townsend, have been awarded nearly one million pounds.

a real fat finger day. LGBA not LGBTA in the last line of my post.

Of note: men who ideate they are women love the word. They crave their "motherhood." Except when the actual mothers of the children they fathered are identified as mothers. If it was more accurately called cross-sex ideation, would the phenomenon have passed by now?

Thanks for the good news.

Excellent point. ’Cross dressing’ used to be called that.. it is clear and to the point. Too unfashionable now. ’Cross sex ideation’ is very accurate and indicates that the person has issues. ’Trans' means nothing, describes nothing and consequently is easily manipulated and oh so fashionable.

Yes, exactly that. Our bodies are not mannequins and clothing is fabric. Make up is paint. See under, Elizabeth Taylor.

Thank you, yes, it's been pretty good again this week. The UN's rejection of Shitewall and the Goof Law Project is reassuring.

Of course, some captured gays were miffed at David Sedaris' understandable discomfort about the use of the 'Q' word. I love him - on something completely disconnected, I recommend his audio clip on attending a French class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5apZmwR9UI&ab_channel=anonymoose711

Thank you, as always, for the lovely clips, especially the dog one

Just signed the petition. The hospital is private. Do they check the views of all their patients before they admit them? If one of Putin's girlfriends turned up, would they deny her treatment if she was wearing a Russian Flag Badge? I am sure they have treated a lot of extremely dubious people in the past. Gangsters, dictators etc and their families. And does prioritising gender over women's rights, not also compromise other protected characteristics, like race and religion? Many ethnic and religious groups, not just Muslims, are strict on intimate encounters between men and women. So male patients should also be allowed to ask for intimate care from male nurses.

Well, here we go again. If two candidates go forward in the Conservative Leadership Campaign, I will be voting as a party member next week. Not for Boris. Apart from all the wallpaper, party, money etc business he is totally under the influence of his LGBTQ+++ fan and wife Carrie. So, until he moves onto a younger model, he will parrot her gender woo views.

I shall e-mail Penny Mordaunt and inquire as to her views now on this issue. I have followed her over the last few years and as we know she certainly enthusiastically supported the Stonewall/PN/Mermaid agenda. However, during the last leadership campaign, she started to not so much U turn as deny the claims about her GC views. She said it was just a dastardly lie put about by supporters of Rishi. Why? It seems to have dawned on her that if she wants career in Conservative politics, getting PN awards is not enough. She cannot afford to alienate Conservative members and voters.

I think the one good thing about this leadership business is that it has made ordinary Conservative members and backbench MPs aware of the GC issue. As a party we do not go in for 'intersectionality', so no women's group in every constituency party discussing gender and sex, or women's lists as you have in the Labour Party. The issue has been rather under the radar with Conservatives activists unless they have personally come across it. However, they are more aware of it now and will I feel start to pressurise their MPS to take the matter more seriously. It was also good to see stalls for the LGBA and the Conservatives for Women (an GC movement in the party) being allowed stalls - unlike at the Labour, LD (cancelled), Greens, SNP etc conferences.

I don't trust Mordaunt. She has said that transwomen aren't biologically women like her but seems to still consider them to be a type of woman.

And doesn't her twin brother's boyfriend have TRA links?

Expand full comment

Her brother is gay. Not sure of his TRA links though. Can anyone enlighten us? Does anyone know his first name?

You are right about PM, I don't trust her and will vote for Rishi...but I would be interested to have her reply! I note last time round no Minsterial colleagues in the two departments she worked in proposed her. And 3 ex bosses came out and said she was useless etc included the former leader of K&C Council who said he had to sack her as Press Officer for the Council. Its Dishy Rishi for me ...unless Kemi Badenoch gets through. If she does not, I am for her next time.

Thanks for the links. The Sue Pascoe on the Giles Udy feed was an Area Chairman for Yorkshire for the Conservative Womens Organisation last year. Was a Conservative Party European election candidate in 2019. See links above. At least she made the effort to go all the way unlike most trans 'women'.

Article by Conservatives for Women during the last leadership contest, outlining Mordaunt's role in promoting the Trans agenda. (CFW being a GC pressure group amongst Conservative Party members). The official Conservative Party women's group the Conservative Womens Organisation, has not campaigned about this issue at all. Their priority seems to be to encourage and train women to get into Parliament. Their website refers to gender, not sex equality. Says it all. They want to have a GC party activist in every constituency to influence MPs. I have volunteered to be a thorn in my conservative MPs side, plus encourage the other party members to take an interest in the issue.

It is CFW who want to have a sympathiser n every constituency pushing the GC cause, not the CWO. I may have confused readers with the use of the word 'they'. Interestingly the London Area Chairman for the CWO lives in my constituency...so I will be chewing her ear off about this issue at any local Tory social events I go to!

Well done Jane.

It astonishes me that people - especially women! - are still not tackling this head on.

Wilful ignorance?

Laziness?

Cowardice?

Doesn't affect them personally?

Stupidity?

Did you see this re Civil Service equalities training? Good question from Peter Bottomley. Much as I despise the chaotic government at present, it seems it is the Tories who are pushing things in the right direction. They need to get on with it.

Unfortunately Penny 'TWAW' Mordaunt is in the running for PM again so it may be too late.

Good news in the answer to PB though re Civil Service training being replaced.

But the answer also highlighted the need for the GRA to be repealed - it is de facto self ID.
