Another busy week on the gender beat and there is plenty of positive news to report. Here are just a few of the good news stories. Enjoy!
Surf & Terf
US professional surfing legend, Bethany Hamilton, has become the latest leading sportswoman to speak out about trans-identified males in women’s sports.
Bethany is threatening to boycott the World Surf League tour over its policy allowing trans-identified male competitors to participate in the female events.
Having lost an arm in a shark attack when she was just 13 years old, Bethany has overcome insurmountable odds to become one of the most successful and popular surfers on the WSL tour.
She released a video on social media slamming WSL’s new trans policy. “I think many of the girls currently on tour are not in support with this new rule and they fear being ostracised if they speak up … so, here I go”. She then went on to pose a number of questions. “Who is pushing for this huge change? Does this better the sport of surfing? Is this better for the women in surfing? If so, how? Is a hormone level an honest and accurate depiction that someone indeed is a male or female? Is it as simple as this?
Thank you and all power to you, Brittany.
Keeping Prisons Single Sex
The Scottish Prison Service is saying “No, thank you” to the SNP’s gender self-ID policy and has announced that prisoners will be housed according to their biological sex, not their ‘gender identity’.
“In a major climbdown following the scandal of a transgender rapist being placed in a female jail, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) said it would disregard a prisoner’s gender identity when making initial decisions about whether to send them to a male or female jail.
The shift marks a major reversal of previous prison service policy in Scotland, which was heavily influenced by trans activists and prioritised “social gender” over biological sex.”
(UPDATE: On the day this was published, Nicola Sturgeon resigned)
Arresting Developments
On a similar theme, The Mail Online reported on a recent case which saw a trans-identified male arrested over the disappearance of a young girl. (The girl, I’m happy to report, has been found ‘safe and well’.)
In a move at odds with Scottish policy, the police reported the suspect as male; “A 53-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of an 11-year-old girl from Galashiels”.
Similarly, both BBC News and The Guardian reported on the suspect’s arrest by referring to him as ‘a man’.
This move seems in direct contravention of their previous reporting policies which saw any violent or predatory male referred to with female pronouns and described as ‘a woman’ within two minutes of his buying a curly wig and calling himself Tiffany. Perhaps voices of rationality are finally cutting through?
Read All About It
On a similar theme, IPSO, the independent regulator of most of the UK’s newspapers, magazines, and digital news media, has launched a public consultation on its new guidance regarding the reporting of sex and gender.
“We are running an open consultation to gain as much insight on the topic as possible from members of the public, journalists, academics, and anyone else who chooses to submit a response.”
If you would like to submit a response, you can do so here.
Leaving Them Kids Alone
Missouri's Attorney General, Andrew Bailey, has announced an investigation into The Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
The investigation was prompted when brave whistleblower, Jamie Reed, spoke out about her experiences working at the centre.
Andrew Bailey’s statement read, “I want Missouri to be the safest state in the nation for children… We take this evidence seriously and are thoroughly investigating to make sure children are not harmed by individuals who may be more concerned with a radical social agenda than the health of children”.
In A Pickle
The Scottish Greens have suspended trans activist (against whom accusations of abuse and sexual violence have been made), Jack ‘Beth’ Douglas, also known as ‘Pickle Bee’.
“The Scottish Green Party has suspended Beth Douglas from the role of Rainbow Greens co-convener, after a series of ‘violent’ tweets. Douglas has been accused of using derogatory language on social media, supporting controversial protests against women, inflaming debate by calling feminists 'fascists' and posing with weapons for Twitter pictures that threaten ‘cis’ people.”
You’re Nicked!
Vociferous student trans activist, Robyn Woof, has been charged with assault.
35-year-old Woof was one of the trans activists whose protest prevented a screening of the documentary Adult Human Female in Edinburgh in December.
Gamers In Hogwarts Heaven
Despite the best efforts of trans activists to have the game ‘cancelled’, Hogwarts Legacy is the number one single player game on Twitch with 1.28 million concurrent viewers at its launch.
It is very good news indeed when some of the most fervent trans ideology supporters - Police Scotland, Guardian, BBC - are backpeddling ferociously away from it now.
Get ready for a whole raft of denialism and gas lighting; "no governor, not me. I never supported that pile of crap!"
Best news of all for Scottish women is that Sturgeon is oot, hanged by the very suffragette ribbons gender critical women were ejected from Holyrood for displaying. Who’s having the last laugh now, Nicola, you bampot.
