Actually, I'm half surprised because Boyle is rather articulate. If only he'd been modest enough to do a creative writing course, he might have come up with something half-way decent. Instead, we get to enjoy this nicely bitchy review of a book by a pretentious, pusillanimous, prick.
My pleasure. I've been reading private eye for 22 years and it's the most brutal book review in memory. My favourite part:
“In a curiously cowardly move from edge lord Boyle, the only character who doesn’t earn a disparaging epithet is a terminally ill black woman. Maybe disabled people aren’t funny any more?”
Hey it’s Tuesday night, here’s the trans inclusivity regulation at my daughter’s school in the US: https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1647456302/lmsdorg/kxhsgnxegsbm1uqt9zjl/Policy_AR259.pdf and here’s the school principal’s email address: Johnsomic@lmsd.org I’m so effing sick of them thinking they’re being so kind and inclusive. What a bunch of zombies. Do they have no critical thinking skills?? Let’s make some noise!!! Click my handle for more info. This is for our daughters!!! Let’s take this thing DOWN!!!
I'm with you on this one, felice. I had to sign up my girl for fall sports at her school, and the school describes options like this:
Which sport or activity will you participate in this fall?
() Soccer (female identifying students)
() Soccer (male identifying students)
etc.
This nonsense irritates me. I make it clear to my daughter that if she is in a female-only changing room and a male comes in, she is to tell me, and that the school cannot require her to undress in front of boys.
It's a good thing she's not terribly sporty - she won't be on the female-identifying soccer team this fall - but a conflict is coming.
Thanks very much ,JL ,for the good news this week. Pity the IRFL had to rely on peer reviewed " research " to tell them that men are physically stronger than women ,something which the human race has always known and acknowledged up until now ! Also ,why could NHS Wales not have realised that their dehumanising language to describe women and girls is extremely hurtful ? Did it take a pushback to tell them that ? Thank God for Suella Braverman , She's a star ⭐⭐⭐. Good to see that more companies are leaving Stonewall. Pity our " illustrious " Universities aren't doing the same !! You're doing great work ,JL. Keep it up 👏👍❤️
I live in Wales and am disgusted by what some crazy people are doing here in the Welsh government who are the absolute worst and some parts of the NHS. Any surgeon or even person could tell them that both sexes bleed when they get cut. How could anyone be moronic enough to even write such nonsense and still have a job?
Well, now we have MP Suella Braverman's clear guidelines, in house staff (HR bollocks dept) can be made to read those before bothering members of staff, unless they want to be taken to court.
All great news, Graham, but overshadowed a bit by the fact that the nut jobs in SNP-run Dundee city council have just appointed a man to be their 'Period Dignity Officer'! I kid you not. He's to advise girls and women (remember them?) about menstruation and menopause. It seems they've misunderstood what the 'men' prefix means in each word!
Actually appointed by an all women committee for a collaboration of Dundee City, Angus and Perth and Kinross Councils and the the local Colleges. Doesn't make it right, but sometimes it is not the "nut jobs" who are responsible! I know one of the committee and nobody could describe her as a "nut job"!
Braverman does support single sex spaces and upholding the Equality Act including its exemptions, but she also thinks that removing the Human Rights Act 1998 and replacing it with a much watered down Bill of Rights is the way forward because it will "prevent trivial human rights claims from wasting judges' time and wasting tax payers' money". How arrogant is that! The Human Rights Act put an end to the disgusting and unsafe practice of slopping out in prisons. It is the basis of the Equality Act 2010 and the exemptions that come with it, especially single sex spaces. It is the basis for all legislation introduced in the devolved nations, all have to go through a Human Rights Impact Assessment. Legislation in England and on reserved matters is not subject to this scrutiny. Her statement that "we now have a rights culture in a way that did not exist prior to 1998". We don't, as the majority of the population in GB are completely unaware of what their basic human rights are. Where has been the promotion of this important piece of legislation? How many people received a government booklet on how the Act can enhance people' lives? The answer is none, because the Westminster Government didn't think it important enough to tell its citizens about the Act or indeed, about any other legislation it has introduced that could improve people's lives. The devolved governments get it right on some legislation but not all.
So yes, praise her for what she said on single sex spaces, but please use caution on supporting what she said wholeheartedly as our rights will be so much less if the Bill of Rights becomes law. Please take the time to respond to all engagement on the Bill of Rights so that it falls and doesn't not make it to the statute books. This is really important for all people in the UK, but also for women and girls' rights.
Excellent speech from Suella Braverman. Hopefully the winner of the leadership contest will either keep her in post and or put her in another similarly influential position.
Obviously I don't wish the same with regard to Penny Mordaunt! 😒
Loving the videos.
Just been watching Kellie Jay Keen answering questions on Terf Talk Tuesday - it is so good!
Thanks very much JL.
Please enjoy this monstering of Frankie Boyle's new book (from Private Eye)

Wonderful! Thank you x
When I saw it I thought of you! Perfect for WoW good news :-)
Made me proper snort!
Lovely read.

Thanks for sharing.
Harsh, but fair, on all :-D

Corporate edgewood 🤣
Sorry that was a typo, I did mean to say corporate edgelord, I did think it was a great turn of phrase
Pretty momentous week.
GLD leaving Stonewall is excellent news.
Allison Bailey may not have taken them down but she's made a significant dent.
Same as when young Keira Bell lost on appeal, she (and the whistle blowers) have had the last laugh on the Tavistock.
Suella Braverman has spelt it out. Might be worth making copies of her conclusions and shoving them under the nose of any cop when they come knocking.

Yes Friki! Hopefully more parents like us will show up and speak up. 👊🏼

Sadly although Stonewall is out of favour at last in govt depts its been replaced by a lookey-likey - they arent dumb they prepared for this.
Beware the multi-headed Hydra.
I suspected that would happen. Also government departments need to be prevented from creating inhouse woke version's of what Stonewall advocated.

Unbelievable! I can't see any teenage girls voluntarily asking for advice from a man. It just won't happen..

I saw that. Every one of them should hang their heads in shame.
@ Irish Rugby- no shit Sherlock!- Really?- You needed peer reviewed evidence that men and women are different?
I am glad they are doing the right thing though.
Suella Braverman is brilliant.
Lobbying groups need to be kept out of schools and public bodies full stop, whether S****wall or anyone else.

Yes, I know. It's always a double-edged swords with the tories.
Excellent speech from Suella Braverman. Hopefully the winner of the leadership contest will either keep her in post and or put her in another similarly influential position.
Obviously I don't wish the same with regard to Penny Mordaunt! 😒
Still, it was interesting to see that the trans issue was the sword Mordaunt fell on.
Kemi Badenoch really stopped Mordaunt in her tracks.
Yes, and encouraging that that was the reason given Mordaunt was the early front-runner. Hopefully Badenoch will be given an influential role too.
I only get to see 2 seconds of twatter before I’m kicked out , was it favourable ?
The SNP are getting bolder in their contempt, here they haven't even bothered appointing a man wearing womanface.
I don't understand why any woman in Scotland would vote SNP again, their disdain for you is astonishing.
Most folk don’t have a clue what they’re up to !
Press curtailment is heavy up here unless it’s hail nikla
Many super injunctions also
Need to go polis at my door !!
