I met Seb Coe, decades ago, when I was a cub reporter for a local paper. I thought him a lovely man. I've come to think of him even more highly in recent years.
I can image there will be resistance to his appointment - the IOC is full of over-stuffed blazers - but I think after the debacle of Paris, it now has some serious PR issues to confront. Putting Seb Coe would seem like the obvious way to assuage critics. I'm cautiously optimistic.
