There is ever-increasing evidence that allowing children to socially transition in school is psychologically harmful and can lead them down a path to medicalisation. Consequently, official UK government guidance recommends against it and ensures that parents are involved in any decision-making.
I would suggest that social transition at school is not just harmful for the child involved who is set on the path to medicalisation. It’s also psychologically harmful for all the other children. They are told to distrust the evidence of their own eyes, to set aside their developing judgement, to only accept what the adults are telling them is real… but the adults are lying, the adults are coercing the children into lying. Then there are the subliminal messages to girls which tell them that their feelings of embarrassment or instincts for safety don’t matter, only the feelings of special males matter. No wonder the cosseted and pampered ones grow up to be narcissists, the whole world is expected to pander to their every whim. I can’t bloody wait for this crap ideology to shrivel up and crawl back into the cesspit it came from.

It seems extreme reaction to your husband expressing concerns that one of his sons is playing with his sister’s toys is to take the child to Thailand and cut his dick off, instead of saying for example ‘ oh come on, it’s not the end of the world, he’ll grow out of it’, or indeed just ‘so?’.

My son lives in Hamburg and he knows NOBODY who agrees with this plainly insensible decision, even among the most liberal. It will not end well. That government is turning Germany into a basket case.

After watching the Arty Morty debate yesterday I was upbeat in believing that the tide had inexorably turned in favour of logic, common sense and undeniable facts. However, this weeks litany of stories from around the world of how dangerous, narcissistic individuals still being indulged, to the obvious peril of others has taken the wind out of my optimistic sails.
