Monday 2nd November - Can I Identify As Welsh?
Chwarae Teg is a charity based in Cardiff which advertises itself as “Inspiring, leading and delivering gender equality in Wales”. Its Twitter bio states, “Building a Wales where women achieve & prosper. Working with women to build confidence & skills”.
They are currently undertaking research on the barriers young women encounter in the course of their lives. On Monday they put out a call for 18-25-year-olds in the North Wales area who “identify as a girl or young women”.
So research into the issues encountered specifically by young women can include males. How is that useful? The findings will be skewed and inaccurate and will not represent the experience or needs of actual women and girls.
When people on social media objected to this wording, the charity’s CEO, Cerys Furlong, had this response:
And actual women…have ceased to exist?
Tuesday 3rd November - The Gender Fluid Sex Offender
THE NORTHAMPTONSHIRE TELEGRAPH: A sex offender has appeared in court using both male and female identities.
Brandon Walker is a 30-year-old trans-identified male with a history of violent crime and sexual offences against minors. He uses a variety of aliases, involving both male and female personae, to groom potential victims on social media.
Since 2006 he has been convicted of 22 offences, including ABH, assault and sexually assaulting children. Walker has continually breached the conditions of his release for sex crimes and violated his sexual harm prevention orders. Probation staff have said that he is highly likely to re-offend.
Last week he appeared in court under two different names... and two different ‘gender’ identities. As Brandon Walker, he pleaded guilty to two breaches of a sexual harm prevention order. As Chloe Walker, he pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to comply with the requirements of the sex offenders register.
(The linguistic gobbledegook required to report on such a ridiculous situation can be demonstrated by this Daily Mail article; “She admitted two breaches of a sexual harm prevention order and one of failing to tell police his new phone number”.)
Walker was sentenced to ten months in prison for each offence, to run concurrently.
Her Honour Judge Rebecca Crane expressed sympathy for Walker’s transgender status, commenting, "It was traumatic for you because you have been waiting a very long time for an appointment at the gender reassignment clinic”.
Wednesday 4th November - Can I Identify as a Pterodactyl?
THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: Recent archaeological research challenges the previously widely held belief that prehistoric hunters were predominantly male.
A study published in Science Advances this week examined a review of previously studied prehistoric burial sites throughout the Americas. It revealed that between 30% and 50% percent of big game hunters could have been female, thus fuelling debate about male and female roles in hunter-gatherer societies.
The National Geographic references a 2018 discovery of remains in Peru. An individual that had been buried in the Andes Mountains around 9,000 years ago was believed to be a prominent male due to the extensive range of hunting tools buried alongside them. However, tests showed the excavated remains to be those of a female.
What an enlightening article, arguing that prehistoric women had a far more prominent role in society than previously believed. It was all going so well, until…
“The team cannot know the individual’s gender identity, but rather only biological sex (which like gender doesn’t always exist on a binary). In other words, they can’t say whether the individual lived their life 9,000 years ago in a way that would identify them within their society as a woman.”
Seriously, National Geographic? Sex isn’t binary? Prehistoric humans sat around the campfire discussing their preferred pronouns? And if a female was strong, brave, revered, anything other than subservient to men, she must have had a different ‘gender identity’?
Even women dead 9000 years aren’t safe from this bullshit sexist ideology.
Thursday 5th November - The Book They Don’t Want You to Read!
Stella Perrett is an artist and illustrator. Until recently, she was a regular cartoonist at the Morning Star and the paper used her work almost every week for five years.
Back in February, The Morning Star published the above cartoon, “Endgame”, which Perrett drew in response to the proposed changes to the Gender Recognition Act.
Perrett suffered a horrendous backlash; she was attacked on social media, had her reputation trashed, was labelled a ‘terf’ and a ‘transphobe’ and was even reported to the police. The Morning Star was forced to issue numerous grovelling apologies and subsequently stopped using Perrett’s work.
Perrett’s cartoon, “Endgame”, was due to appear in a book collating Britain's best political cartoons of the past year. The publisher’s lawyers threw it out.
But fear not! Stella Perrett’s brilliant work is now available in her newly released book, “2020… The Year We Were All Cancelled”. The perfect stocking filler for the gender bore in your life. It is available from certain online retailers now and will become available on hundreds of other outlets worldwide by the end of November.
Friday 6th November - Woke Up Down Under
Australians have started a petition to sack the newly elected Lord Mayor of Perth after he made “offensive” comments scoffing at gender identity ideology.
Basil Zempilas is a radio presenter and the newly installed Lord Mayor of Perth. Last week an on-air comment on his Radio 6PR breakfast show caused outrage when he stated he didn’t believe in changing sex by identification. “If you've got a penis mate, you're a bloke”, he said. “If you've got a vagina, you're a woman”. He also offered a $100 voucher to any “woman with a penis” who contacted the programme.
The backlash was immediate. Zempilas’ social media accounts were inundated with angry messages and insults, protestors publicly tore up his photograph and someone on ‘the right side of history’ even vandalised the Zempilas family home.
Basil Zempilas then had to make a number of grovelling apologies, not only at a Perth council meeting and on his own radio programme but also at a televised press conference. He has promised to undergo 'transgender awareness training'.
Hunter Gurevich, chair of TransFolk WA, said Zempilas' comments were, “Repugnant, bigoted, narrow-minded, parochial and fundamentally deny contemporary science”. He went on to explain, “It is possible to appear one way and feel another… Gender is how you identify psychologically, whether you're feminine or masculine”. He commented that Zempilas needs to ‘educate himself’.
Saturday 7th November - Sex Matters For New Bill
THE HERALD SCOTLAND: A new bill could have devastating consequences for victims of rape and sexual assault by conflating sex and gender.
The new bill before the Scottish parliament aims to improve processes for those who have suffered rape or sexual assault. It will give victims the choice to defer reporting the crime to the police, allowing them to self-refer to a health service for the collection of forensic evidence. It allows that the “Medical examination be carried out by a registered medical practitioner of a gender specified by the person”.
Gender. Not sex. The distinction is crucial because gender, unlike sex, has no clear definition in law. This wording will allow trans identified males to be included in the pool from which female clinicians will be drawn when requested.
The Scottish government has ignored advice to use the word ‘sex’ in place of ‘gender’, stating that stating it is “Not immediately convinced there is legislative ambiguity”.
As Trina Budge points out, the cruelty of specifying gender rather than sex cannot be underestimated.
“Traumatised women should not be re-traumatised by unexpectedly encountering a male doctor (regardless of his personal gender) after requesting treatment from a female doctor. Nor should victims feel they must self-exclude from medical services due to uncertainty over being guaranteed a female medical practitioner, or fear accusations of bigotry for making such a request. Unfortunately, numerous such cases have already made the headlines.”
Sunday 8th November - GoFundMe Set Up for ‘Cancelled’ Poet
A few weeks ago we reported on Scottish poet and performer, Jenny Lindsay.
Last year she fell foul of trans activists when she objected to a Skinny magazine writer advocating violence against lesbian feminists. A relentless campaign of bullying and intimidation by Scotland’s wokerati has damaged both her career and her reputation.
In November she was offered an important assignment by a major company. However, this offer was rescinded when the company in question discovered that Lindsay had written an essay in literary journal The Dark Horse, describing her experiences and discussing the topics of feminism and gender.
So a group of women have taken action to assist her and support her work. Feminist Fundraisers is an organisation created by poet, Magi Gibson, social worker and writer, Maggie Mellon, and educationalist, Shereen Benjamin.
We spoke to Magi Gibson, one of the women involved, who told us why this GoFundMe page is so important:
“Jenny has suffered career-wise and financially for being a woman writer who dares speak up. This has not happened by chance, but because there are those who actively want her career to founder, her voice to be silenced. It’s all too easy to create, especially in a small world like the Scottish arts and literary scene, a chilling effect, to spread fear. Even amongst organisations and institutions that should be supporting all artists. This funding initiative not only supports Jenny in a very real way, it pushes back against those attempts to intimidate and create division. It shows just how much the voice of a woman of integrity like Jenny Lindsay is valued.”
See you next week, and vive la résistance.

I had a look at Chwarae Teg's Equal Opportunities/Diversity Monitoring Form in their job application in August. They asked "What best describes your gender?" and include options 'Male', 'Female' & 'Prefer to self-describe', mixing up the two sex classes of the Equality Act with notions of 'gender'.
They also had this nonsense: "Is your gender identity the same sex you were assigned at birth?"
