Am all for breaking down the stereotypes of what makes a man and what makes a woman (after biological sex realities which no one can do anything about) but it's still baffling how Gender Ideologes cannot see that by claiming to 'break down the barriers' they're actually re-enforcing them.

As someone who lived through the days of segregation, I would like to stuff the analogy between segregation and trans rights up the SNP's bum. The photos of white men and women screaming at little black children bears a startling resemblance to TRAs screaming at gender-critical men and women -- the looks of hatred contorting their faces are exactly the same -- and these idiots willfully turn away from reality and wallow in their grotesque ignorance.

Thank you for writing this, Susan. You're right - the comparison is incredibly offensive on so many levels.

Ah, thank you. It's great to read about those of you who remember those days.

SNP has lost it. Just goes to show how clueless they are about history - and real life.

Black people in the Jim Crow era had it a lot worse than the trans people.

Scottish people has had it a lot worse than the trans people.

Women still have it a lot worse than the trans people!

(You haven't seen it all: today some utter creep on twitter posted a mock up of JKR in SS-uniform. I took that very personal.)

I think we know who the fascists are in the gender ideology wars, and it seems to have become typical of actual fascists to call nonfascists fascists!

This #internationalWomensDay we're going to talk about trans women in history. We've turned replies off because we know some people would prefer these stories to be covered on the other 364 days of the year.

This #internationalWomensDay we're going to talk about the Premier Leagues best players. We've turned replies off because we know some people would prefer these stories to be covered by Match Of The Day.

This #internationalWomensDay we're going to talk about coping with prostate cancer. We've turned replies off because we know some people would prefer women to be centred at any point ever.

It's a great point. They wouldn't shortlist a cricketer for the Ballon D'or in the interest of "inclusion", why can they not let women have something for themselves?

I think it's done deliberately to remind us who is really in charge & not to get ideas above our station. For the same reason that men whistle at women they don't know in the street - to keep us in our place.

I am angered by the news of Lisa Townsend's treatment by her council. Is any action being taken to redress the injustice and to offer her support?

I'm not sure if any action is being taken but, if this piece in The Daily Mail is anything to go by, they've picked on the wrong woman! She won't be intimidated into silence.

The idea of Stonewall sending 'love, solidarity and support' to lesbians and bisexual women on International Women's Day is laughable as well as a lie. The organisation has shown its contempt for women who are same SEX attracted, and want relationships with biological women, not with men who identify as women. They're Terfs, bigots, and transphobes etc, and those who've drawn attention to the the sexual bullying some lesbians are being subjected to are guilty of 'sexual racism'. Does that sound loving? Where's the solidarity in that?

The same people are daring to talk about supporting leabians. Fuck off! They don't support lesbian or bisexual women, or gay and bisexual men. They're harassing them, trying to take away their definitions, language, spaces and boundaries and portraying them as discriminatory. If you're gay or lesbian, it's fine to discriminate between who you do and don't accept as sexual partners based on their sex or anything else. This is the choice every person should have, unconditionally and without exception or explanation.

Their hypocrisy is so obvious. Hard to believe people can't see it.The TQ+++ ideology has to be the most hateful and narcissistic one ever seen in the world yet its supporters are getting away with everything!!

Expand full comment

Gender identity ideology, or at least some aspects of it, seem to be attractive to those sympathetic or supportive of misogyny and homophobia. They can dismiss or minimise the significance and meaning of same sex attraction on the basis that sex is incidental, gender is the important component. Despite the extensive use of cross sex hormones and surgical procedures intended to remove or alter physical sex characteristics, as well as feminisation/masculinisation surgeries on other parts of the body. Essentially, homosexuality can be eliminated by applying this ideology. Men and women who are lesbian and gay aren't lesbian or gay at all, they're heterosexuals born into the 'wrong' bodies, so it's the body that needs correction and modification.

As for misogyny, we know that gender identity ideology and its attendent beliefs and propositions are saturated with misogyny. So much of trans activism is about endorsing and celebrating detestation and violence towards women and girls. Among all the many things it wants and aims to do to disadvantage them, it also wants to place them in danger, and attacks when they challenge this, however mildly.

They're getting away with it because they're powerful and well supported. And becauae too many people who could do something about it are similarly misogynistic or gutless fucks, desperate to show how compliant they can be. Keir Starmer, for example. He's a prick, but he's a dangerous one, and unfortunately there are many like him. This situation isn't going to last forever, given how much activists and their sympathisers want, that isn't wanted by a huge portion of the world. I don't think it would be too audacious to assume the current status quo is going to have a limited lifespan.

Left this on WOL (my local paper).

Questions for everyone … why do we have separate public areas for men and women (toilets, changing rooms etc)?

Why does a man saying he is a women mean he can go into women and girls spaces?

All these people complicit in this degrading ideology … the media, and the women who go along with it especially!

You get away with it now by silencing people for your cheap woke points!

People will turn on you

So next let’s start asking these politicians to tell us what a man is because currently that’s not up for grabs

Expand full comment

Exactly this. That's the question to start with. "What is the definition of 'man'?" They'll answer that quick enough. Then ask them what a woman is...

Expand full comment

Well this is another nauseating sticks in the gullet selection, thank you. Why oh why are so many media operations determined to centre men and to really insult us, on IWD. Ramming their point home. Is WOL Shash Appan suggesting we - those who disagree with this tyrannical ideology - are somehow 'evil', despite not being 'born' that way? I wasn't born evil and I am not evil now. What a load of utter tripe. The premise is truly silly. I find it hard to describe how this gaslighting is turning around stats and reality to reframe it as 'hate'. Being a woman or man is not a choice. How is he being given a platform to suggest anyone who doesn't agree with men taking women's rights, words, history, platforms and spaces is therefore evil? He's not a woman. We're in social trance witch burning territory here and they are propagating woman hatred under the guise of trans rights.

He sprinkles words like 'evil' and 'hate' so casually when it's male violence against men and male violence against women that's the real issue, the real evil. It's headtwisting. And I won't let him bend my reality to suit his coercive delusions.

I agree. But screaming 'hate' and 'evil' at anyone who questions their ideology is the only way to deflect debate. They know full well the minute one examines gender woo, the whole thing falls apart.

Probably pretty niche, but I follow the board gaming site BoardGameGeek. This month (for International Women's Month) they've been highlighting women in the hobby (designers, illustrators, etc.). That is until they highlighted a male designer - Tom Russell. Some time last year he "figured out [he] was a girl", shaved his beard off and changed his name to Amabel Holland. He even got an "I am a girl" microbadge added to his avatar. "Tom Russell" has pretty much been erased from the site and it's she/her all around.

https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/296802/item/8840597#item8840597

Now I think he's a really good game designer tackling some interesting and challenging subject matters, mainly historical or train-related. Unfortunately, the site has fallen for the gender identity nonsense. I've not seen a single complaint. No doubt I would be banned if I questioned it. But, yet again, there'll be a woman bumped off a list because of a man.

Expand full comment

Well, he might have been a good game designer as a man, but I'm sure he's a better one now he's a woman. In fact, he might turn out to be the best one ever, at least until another man sees an opportunity, takes advantage of it and ditches his previous identity to become she/her. God forbid that male privilege is disrupted and this can't continue entirely on their terms.

I just love how when men emancipate themselves it appears to be by thinking they are women. For hundreds (thousands?) of years whenever women spoke up it was and is said that we are aping men and getting too big for our boots. No, just wanting fair treatment and equal rights.

Women disappear all the time, not out of choice, and despite wanting to take part in our public and private lives. We are actively written out, deplatformed and never existed. Murdered. Cut up. Desecrated. Forgotten. We mysteriously drop out of professions and everyone scratches their heads. Yet he has the power to disappear what he wants of his life and re-emerge as some beautiful woman butterfly...with all the male privilege intact.

It's odd how the brand new dimension of the online and tech world has merely extended and exacerbated all the same old shit from the old one. Being a woman is not a fashion choice or feeling. If only we could self-identify out of some of the shit dished out, which I guess is behind the plague of breast removals.

Hi Graham. I need to comment on this weeks ‘war on women’. As a tough old bird who’s been following this & reading all about the Karen whites/lia Thomas/kill the terf etc etc for a few years now I didn’t expect to be as upset as I am after reading it. It was devastating. Shocking, relentless, hopeless. There has to be some glimmer of hope, of fighting back. On top of all that I now read the grand Marshall of dublins st Patrick’s day parade is... you’ve guessed it. And the BAFTAs hijacked in an excuse to dump on JKR. Please, a good news edition is urgently required... even a rehash of good news would be welcome. Thanks

Hi Nellie. It's JL here (I write the War on Women and the Good News Supplement). I'm so sorry you're feeling upset. But please take heart. I honestly believe there is more than a glimmer (or dare I say a Glinner??) of hope. The pendulum is swinging back. Every day I hear or read a story that gives me hope - the Cass Review interim report, for eg, is a huge game changer. Sunlight keeps flooding in and every day more people are waking up to the lunacy of gender ideology and speaking out. We may not win every battle but we will win the war. (And there is a Good News Supplement on the way soon!) Take good care. We tough old birds will see these gender brats off, you mark my words! xx

Terrible actress and utter ingrate. Of course she isn’t interested in engaging on debate on the subject, just tossing out a lazy TWAW and having a pop at the woman to whom she owes her whole career. If she did she’d be completely out of her depth.

I'm oddly annoyed that the Royal Albert Hall let this happen but I guess they too are under the sway of the mighty BAFTA (British Assemblage of Film Trans Activists).

Looking at her 'speech' online, I'm glad I didn't have to sit in the audience and politely compose my face. She really said she was there 'in honour of all the witches', then mouths what looks like 'bar one'? Then gave a huge smug smirk? She used her platform to directly have a go at JKR. And BAFTA thought that was appropriate. It was Rebel taking a pop at JKR too. Those two are beneath contempt and all those at BAFTA who sanctioned that running joke. I don't know what the rest of you are like but I am actively choosing what films to watch, books to read and plays to see and will actively avoid things these two are involved in like the plague. Yeah punching down on older women! Yay how um er transemancipated of them.

Why don't they both go for roles as young 'trans' women. And to really 'live' the role they must cut their breasts off and make themselves infertile. Or play the the role of mother struggling with child doing this.

I interviewed EW once and she was utterly painful, further to this she is a TERRIBLE ACTRESS and at 31 is only known for one (badly performed) child role for which she owes JKR her entire career and fortune. So she can jog on frankly.

Surely the general population will finally get with the programne when they read about Shay Sims and him lifting his skirt and flashing his tackle in the street. Man in dress the shout should be.

My friend, Ada, remains horrified by the behaviour of these men who threaten her wellbeing as they draw attention to her as an older transsexual woman. As she says, you can present as anything you like, but they can't change their personalities which are so very definitely male.

As for men taking over International Women's Day, women should be celebrated every other day, 364 days a year. A different natal woman every day, every tear. There are enough of us out there doing exceptional things. That would do get up their noses... How can they ever match that with their trans days. Even transsexual women would support...

Expand full comment

I agree, Mandy. I have a transsexual friend (had surgery around 30 years ago) who feels the same. These gender tourists are bad news for women and trans people.

Expand full comment

The more I read and listen, the more I wish there could be a group or organisation for transsexuals who know they are their birth sex and aren't part of the TRA movement. Is there one? Apologies for my ignorance. I'm not naive to think that a new lobby group for everything helps, but this gender ideology seems to have crept in everywhere and is toxic to those it purports to speak for. It's clearly impacting on everyone, and far more than the tiny minority making everyone's lives much harder. All the transsexuals I knew (and knew of) as a child are now gone and there is no one I am around I know or can speak with. I know there are these really luridly violent activists, who I know can't represent 'all trans' as that now means nothing as a term.

Any man waving his dick about in public to make a point has problems and he is deluded. But I won't ever accept the state machinery and its ilk like the leader of the Labour Party forcing those delusions onto us. Even if Shay had surgery and was exposing himself, that's still weirdly male privilege. What was he trying to prove?

Expand full comment

From what I've been told by those with a genuine gender dysphoria, their male bodies are such a cause of pain and distress, the idea of showing off their penis in public is unthinkable. I think Shay is a bog standard thug - interesting he used homophobic language when yelling at the bouncers - who happens to have a liking for wearing pretty dresses. He's caveman with a fetish. Nothing more.
