NEW ZEALAND HERALD: A trans-identified woman was sent to a men’s prison, despite begging authorities to be accommodated in the female estate.
In Auckland in 2017 a trans-identified female, referred to as ‘Lucas’, was remanded in prison. Terrified of what might happen to her in the male estate, she explained to the guards at the holding cell that she is trans and asked to be sent to a female prison. She was given documentation to complete which asked if she preferred to be searched by a male or female guard. She requested a female guard and a female prison.
Nevertheless, on arrival at the facility Lucas was horrified to find that she’d been sent to a men’s prison. There she had to submit to a strip search by male guards. “I took my clothes off and I just kind of remember everyone in the room not really knowing where to look - including me… I nearly fainted, panic was setting in.”
Following her sentencing in September 2019, Lucas again requested a women's prison and to be searched by female officers. And, again, she found herself in the male estate. She was kept there in segregation before finally being transferred to a women’s prison three days later and after two years of living in fear for her safety.
This is what happens when an ideology is allowed to supersede reality and drive policy.
And it always seems to be women who suffer.

REDDUX: A vociferous advocate of ‘gender neutral’ facilities was in court this week facing eleven separate charges of child abuse.
Former Middlesbrough councillor, David Smith, was such a fierce advocate of ‘gender neutral’ facilities that he made them his personal crusade.
Thanks to Smith’s campaigning, the council buildings switched to mixed sex facilities in June 2019. Smith was then determined to roll out this policy across the whole area. His intention was to erase all single-sex toilets and changing rooms from public buildings in Middlesbrough.
He dismissed concerns over the safety of women and children, stating, “The risk does not increase once public toilets become gender neutral. In fact, if anyone has any intention in committing a crime at present, they will do so”.
Smith is in court this week, defending 11 counts of child sexual abuse. The charges relate to two different victims, both male, who allege that Smith abused them around 10 years ago when they were young children.
The court also heard allegations that Smith used a fake social media profile to message a young girl.
We should be suspicious when men are intent on erasing the safeguarding protocols that protect women and children. Pay attention to the men doing it.
Wednesday 6th April - First Do No Harm #1
Jesse Singal reported on researchers who published and publicised a claim that puberty blockers and hormones improved the mental health of the children prescribed them. In reality, the study showed no such thing and the claim was false.
In February an article called ‘Mental Health Outcomes in Transgender and Nonbinary Youths Receiving Gender-Affirming Care’ was published in JAMA Network Open (a monthly medical journal produced by the American Medical Association). The authors of the study are based mostly at the University of Washington–Seattle or at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
These researchers examined a number of children being treated at Seattle Children’s Gender Clinic. They simply observed the children over a period of twelve months as some of them began taking puberty blockers and/or hormones. The subjects would complete surveys, reporting on their own mental health, at three monthly intervals.
Thanks to a big ‘PR push’ by the University of Washington–Seattle, the study garnered a great deal of media exposure and came to national attention.
“All the publicity materials the university released tell a very straightforward, exciting story: The kids in this study who accessed puberty blockers or hormones had better mental health outcomes at the end of the study than they did at its beginning.
The headline of the emailed version of the press release, for example, reads, ‘Gender-affirming care dramatically reduces depression for transgender teens, study finds’. The first sentence reads, ‘UW Medicine researchers recently found that gender-affirming care for transgender and nonbinary adolescents caused rates of depression to plummet’…
What’s surprising, in light of all these quotes, is that the kids who took puberty blockers or hormones experienced no statistically significant mental health improvement during the study. The claim that they did improve, which was presented to the public in the study itself, in publicity materials, and on social media (repeatedly) by one of the authors, is false.”
(Do read Jesse Singal’s article in full which explains in detail how this shocking falsification was facilitated and promoted.)

CNBC: Disney-owned TV networks, among others, will be airing an advert produced by an LGBTQ+ lobby group which promotes gender identity ideology.
The public service announcement has been produced by GLAAD and features a family with a so-called ‘transgender child’ called Max. It will be aired on Disney-owned networks as well as by outlets owned by Comcast, WarnerMedia and Paramount.
GLAAD is a hugely influential US-based LGBTQ+ organisation with particular interest in the media and entertainment industries. It describes itself as “Leading the conversation. Shaping the media narrative. Changing the culture.” It featured on this site last year after launching its ‘accountability project’ which amounted to little more than a black-list of those not adhering to the prescribed narrative.
Last month Disney vowed to overturn the ‘Parental Rights in Education’ legislation which was recently passed in Florida and prohibits teaching children up to third grade (aged 8-9) about sexual orientation and gender identity.
Disney was in the news again later this week after a leaked clip from an online company forum shows Karey Burke, president of Disney's General Entertainment Content, admitting that the company is targeting ‘Gen Z’ (10-25 year olds) with LGBTQ+ content because it makes good business sense.
She told the forum, “Now we know, as my son texted me this morning: 'Gen-Z is 30-40 percent queerer than other generations Mom, so Disney better get with it’”.
Instead of indoctrinating impressionable kids into believing that gender non-conformity requires new pronouns, special labels and irreversible medical treatment, why not teach them that there is no right or wrong way to be either a boy or a girl?
Thursday 7th April - First Do No Harm #2
THE TELEGRAPH: Allie was only 18 years old when she was prescribed testosterone by GenderGP after minimal consultation and no investigation into the causes of her dysphoria.
22-year-old Allie shared her story with Kim Thomas and began by explaining that she was raised in a masculine environment. She preferred toys and past-times usually associated with boys and found it difficult to make friends with other girls. In high school she envied her male peers as they were ‘stronger and more outgoing’. Around the age of eleven, influenced by YouTube and Tumblr, she believed that she was a boy accidentally born into a female body.
Aged twelve Allie developed depression and anxiety then, tragically, a few years later, she was sexually abused by a stranger after being groomed online. It was, of course, ‘a hugely traumatic period’.
Allie started experimenting with her gender presentation and changed her pronouns on her Instagram and Tumblr accounts. “Some days I wanted to be girly, other days I wanted to dress like a man.” In her final school year she believed she needed to ‘pick a side’ and for the next few years decided she would be “As girly as possible and blend in and be totally normal”.
Aged eighteen, however, Allie suddenly changed her mind. “The big narrative being pushed is that transition will be the answer to all your problems.” Using her summer job savings, she paid for private treatment at GenderGP.
She had a 30-minute phone consultation costing £300 - never a face-to-face meeting - and a few months later was prescribed testosterone. There was no exploration of possible comorbidities, trauma or any other possible cause of her dysphoria. Allie said, “They didn’t tell me all the potential side effects, such as heart problems and loss of bone density, or the extent to which it could impact fertility”.
For a year or two all seemed well and Allie, then calling herself Ryan, enjoyed being perceived as male. In her first year of university, however, she suffered with her mental health and attempted suicide. She was referred to a social worker who suggested she might have autism, later confirmed by a specialist diagnosis. “It was like having pieces of a jigsaw come together, enabling me to see the full picture.”
Allie stopped taking testosterone and says she feels ‘embarrassed’ for transitioning. She has been left with a lot of body hair and a much deeper voice. Though she did consider a double mastectomy, she is now relieved that she didn’t go ahead with the surgery, especially as she wants to have children.
“The main advice I’d give to others with gender dysphoria is to wait until you’re 21 before going on hormones. Let your body be an adult woman’s body before you decide to change it.”
GenderGP is the dubious offshore clinic which has appeared on this site on numerous occasions. It has been in the news because of its association with disgraced GP, Helen Webberley, for prescribing hormones to minors without the knowledge or consent of their parents and for selling testosterone online to a vulnerable teenager who, tragically, took her own life.
GenderGP reacted to this latest story not with concern or contrition, but by attacking the journalist responsible for it.
It then went on to peddle its grubby wares.
And finally issued a hyperbolic ‘warning’ to other journalists.
Another young detransitioned woman, Sinead Watson, also shared her story in the media this week.
Sinead was just 21-years-old when she sought assistance for her gender dysphoria.
When her body had begun developing during puberty, the male attention she attracted repulsed her and left her bitterly hating her own body. When she tried to find help on the internet, she was bombarded with information about transitioning and became convinced that she was trans. She referred herself to the Sandyford, Glasgow’s gender clinic, and,12 months later, began taking testosterone. Two years after that, she had a double mastectomy.
“When I told doctors at the gender clinic I hated my body and wanted to be a man, they never questioned why. If they had, they might have discovered that my body dysphoria wasn’t the cause of my problems. It was the symptom. I was about to make the biggest decision of my life but I wasn’t offered in-depth counselling. Instead, I was effectively left to self-diagnose.”
Aged 27, Sinead began to realise that she’d made a terrible mistake and was so depressed she tried to take her own life. She later made the decision to de-transition.
Last week it was revealed that doctors in Sussex will be paid to prescribe cross-sex hormones to patients struggling with their gender. Sinead is angered by this news:
“There should be no monetary incentive to prescribe a patient cross-sex hormones. A patient with gender dysphoria should only ever be prescribed cross-sex hormones after proper, ongoing exploratory therapy. It is important to remember that not every patient who has gender dysphoria is trans, and not every patient who transitions will benefit from it. Cross-sex hormones are powerful, largely irreversible, and come with health risks. GPs shouldn’t be paid for every patient they prescribe them to.”
Sinead knows at least 100 detransitioned women - ‘the tip of the iceberg’ - many of whom feel too intimidated to speak out. “But our voices need to be heard if we are to protect vulnerable girls and young women from unnecessary and irreversible treatments.”
Friday 8th April - The Get Out Of Jail Free Card
REDUXX: Canada’s parole board has extended the supervision order of a ‘high risk’ murderer and sex offender who claims to identify as a woman.
After serving time in US prisons for various offences, Jatin Patel was deported to Canada in 2003. On the day of his arrival, he killed a trans identified male prostitute called Shelby Tracey Tom after meeting him in a bar and engaging him in sexual activity in his motel room. Patel struck Tom violently in the throat after discovering that he was male. He was subsequently found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to nine years imprisonment. He served only half that time.
In 2015, Patel lured two 13-year-old girls to this motel room after contacting them via social media. He supplied one with crystal meth and sexually assaulted her. Just two months later, Patel sexually assaulted the girl a second time having invited her to the addiction recovery house where he was staying. In a separate incident, he also sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl who was with her mother in a grocery shop.
Patel was convicted of two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexually touching a child under the age of sixteen, designated a ‘dangerous offender’ and given an indefinite prison sentence.
In 2020, Patel began ‘identifying as a woman’ and launched an appeal against both his dangerous offender status and his indeterminate sentence. (The British Columbia court documents refer to him with female pronouns.) His appeal was successful and he was released from prison the following year.
Patel’s long-term supervision order has just been extended for another year due to his continued risk of offending. The Canadian parole board of Canada said that Patel has ‘displayed a significant amount of problematic behaviour’ and is ‘considered to be a high risk for general recidivism’.
In other news from Canada this week, nurse and feminist campaigner, Amy Eileen Hamm, is facing disciplinary action for knowing that biology is real.
For the past six years, Amy has spoken out against the harms caused to women and children by gender identity ideology. As a result, two complaints were made about her ‘off duty conduct’ and, since November 2020, she has been under investigation by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
“My disciplinary hearing is scheduled to take place from May 30th through June 3rd, and my career as a nurse hangs in the balance.”

THE DAILY RECORD: A Scottish prisoner failed to secure release by identifying as a woman and has now decided he’s a baby.
Daniel ‘Sophie’ Eastwood featured on this site last year when we reported on another of his attempts to grift the system. On that occasion, he was taking legal action against the Scottish Prison Service, claiming to be the victim of transphobia.
In 2004 Eastwood was serving time in a young offenders institution for dangerous driving. A month before his release date, he murdered a fellow inmate, strangling him with a shoelace. Eastwood was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to serve a minimum of 15 years.
While in prison Eastwood earned the nickname ‘Hannibal Lecter Jnr’ due to his disturbing behaviour and explosive temper. One prison officer resigned from her job after a frightening encounter with him and he violently attacked another.
Four years ago Eastwood began ‘identifying as a woman’ and using the name Sophie. He has been accommodated in female-only prison units ever since. His 15-year minimum prison term was completed in 2019 and he is now intent on being released.
In 2020 Eastwood was denied a move to a less secure prison and failed a psychological assessment. So he claimed he was discriminated against because he is trans and tried to take legal action against the Scottish Prison Service.
Eastwood has now told the prison authorities that he identifies as a baby and is demanding to wear nappies, eat baby food and have prison officers hold his hand whenever he is being escorted from his cell.
According the The Daily Record and The Daily Mail, Eastwood has already been supplied with a dummy and prison authorities are taking this ‘identity’ seriously.
Friday night’s ‘Have I Got News For You’ failed to mention women’s rights once.
Sunday 10th April - The Long Arm Of The Law
THE MAIL ON SUNDAY: Female suspects can be strip-searched by trans-identified male police officers and accused of a ‘none-crime hate incident’ if they object.
The National Police Chief's Council (NPCC) issued new guidance to police forces around the country in December. It seems they tried to implement this policy by stealth but it is has come to light thanks to retired Superintendent, Cathy Larkman.
The new guidelines state that, “Chief Officers are advised to recognise the status of Transgender colleagues from the moment they transition, considered to be, the point at which they present in the gender with which they identify… Thus, once a Transgender colleague has transitioned, they will search persons of the same gender as their own lived gender”.
Consequently, male officers who ‘identify as women’ will be able to carry out intimate searches on female suspects the moment they pop on a frock.
The policy does say that it might be 'advisable' to replace the person carrying out the search if the detainee objects. However, it goes on, “If the refusal is based on discriminatory views, consideration should be given for the incident [to] be recorded as a non-crime hate incident unless the circumstances amount to a recordable crime”.
So if a female suspect objects to being searched, even strip-searched, by a male, she risks further charges being made against her.
Cathy Larkman also fears that the new guidance will put female officers in an invidious position. “If they are searching biological males who self-identify as women they will be under a lot of pressure to just go along with it and keep quiet because they could be disciplined for refusing.”
She told The Mail on Sunday how shocked she is by the new guidance. “This is a devastating blow to women's trust in the police. Women are not even an afterthought in this guidance - they are completely non-existent. Everything is geared towards the sensitivities of the officer doing the searching… It tells you everything you need to know about what chief officers are thinking at the moment and where their priorities lie. Sadly, it's not with women.”
See you next week.
What an avalanche of bad news for girls and women this week. It's clear that powerful forces throughout the west are waging a war against our dignity, privacy, safety, bodily autonomy, and ability to organize politically outside the presence of men.
That police story... Dreadful. And anyway I thought they weren't meant to record "non-crime hate incidents" any more?
