I never used to miss the London Pride parade, out in party mood with all my gay and lesbian friends. None of us would go anywhere near it these days, I'm afraid. It's been overrun by homophobic heterosexual gender twats.

I refuse not to like rainbows! Rainbows have been symbols of hope in adversity for centuries before this nasty cult decided to use it as their brand.

They can’t have it. Rainbows belong to everyone. We can let them mean whatever we wish, and I will not associate it with a misogynistic cult.

I saw a double rainbow 2 days ago. It was gone a few minutes later. It is a beautiful phenomenon.

Well I think I felt the repugnance when during the summer there are been a rash of Pride Festivals and Marchesa nd people take their babies and children along

I got on a bus and everyone was coming back from the Pride Festival, On very little childrens faces and on a very young tiny baby;s face were rainbow tattoos and glitter which underneath said

NON-BINARY OR GLAD TO BE GAY Errrr?

You are 2 - 3 under a year baby 2 months old declaring your sex and sexuality when you dont even know what sex you are and have not met Noah and his Ark of zoo animals or Bungle and Zippee

There is something wrong when a baby is declaring their sex and sexuality under a rainbow face paint and glitter.

Everytime that child sees a rainbow or sees a rainbow in a book it will see its meaning to be with Pride and sex and sexuality. and decalring things it does not understand the meaning of. and slag drag artists who have just shown their knickers boobs and bulging falling out genitals. while doing the splits or gyrating

Rainbows will soon not mean anything else.

Rainbows used to mean Promises Same as seeing a robin feels likea private secret promse to yourself

Now I can only think I am going to be punched in the face and told YOU NEED RAPING YOU NEED RAPING

Thanks!!

That Miss "Nick" from Manchester Museum complains that: "80% of the museum’s animals and insects are male" BUT - how does she know? Did she ask those museum specimens how they identified, eh? Did she ask what their pronouns are?

I. Don't. Think. So.

Is she a BIGOT?

She needs to have a word with herself p.d.q. ....

Yes, she missed a trick there. She should have said that 80% of them were "assigned male at time of stuffing by the male dominated, patriarchal, taxidermy and scientific establishment".

Never mind that the female, of many bird species, isn't particularly colourful because they don't stand out when performing their natural function of sheltering their offspring in the nest.

Quite the silliest take on evolutionary biology. The reason there are more male birds on display is because they are more identifiable, I.e peacock and peahen! This is not Victorian men being "unkind" it is Nature. She(they/them/whateva) really needs to read a bit more!

Good grief! What's going on in Scotland? Males who say they're women and who are murders are in women's prisons. Laughable teaching materials for kids. Police saying 'women' can commit rape and record them as such to avoid hurting the 'women's' feelings. Is there something in the water? Too much sun? What?

Expand full comment

I can assure you it’s not too much sun , sleaze and scandal aplenty but definitely not too much sun

Allegedly ,apparently and according to my neighbours budgies cousin another big story is about to break in the next month or so ……

Ill be checking the news very closely then! Fingers crossed the news will be good. ;)

It’s still possible to live in Scotland and (almost) never see a man dressed in womens clothes. Honestly. I have no idea what my neighbours sexual proclivities are or if the local police wear high heels and make up. However if I go on protests eg to Holyrood in Edinburgh all the oddities pop out of the woodwork in freakish make up or even worse in face masks. Dearie me it’s all so pathetic.

Yes, they do tend to hide in the woodwork don't they - probably because they're the most vulnerable, etc (rolling my eyes when I'm typing that).

I see 4 on a regular basis. Two are quite old and have been about for years living quietly in the neighbourhood. The other two are narcissistic tw*ts who shout and scream like banshees simply for attention. One of the "banshees" was punched in the face a couple of weekends ago and everyone kept walking and nobody saw a thing!! His reputation goes before him!

Expand full comment

Yes MJ there is an elderly tran in my neighbourhood who bothers no one and just gets on with his life. As an ex Scots Guard he could never have hoped to pass but clearly has a strong psychological need to wear women’s clothes. I am glad that he is accepted but it is also sad to see.

If Nick lost a couple of stone, and got a better haircut, she might not need to spend so much effort agonising over the hierarchy of nesting birds.

As for the ‘die in ‘, don’t tempt me.

I think they've been told that to have some geeky nerdy facts about something arcane is cool. Someone somewhere told them that. Except they know nothing, nothing, nothing. I think it's all in their feed then they went to a Uni to study more of this, to get qualifications. We might be nearing the edge of that twenty-year uphill struggle ("their struggle") and now they are in freefall. And then they patronisingly bash you over the head with it. So they are not teachers, educators, not knowledge-transfer specialists. Definitely not curators. What are they? This new breed of supercilious, mean-spirited cockwombles?

Today Vaishnavi Sundar's epic documentary on trans widows and trans orphans, Behind the Looking Glass (Lime Soda Films YouTube channel) reached 101k views. This is gratifying. It's been demonetized, in classic cancellation form, but many will be peaked and will understand the real social damage. Once again, here's the link:

The link to support Jasmine Sussex's legal case is incorrect; it goes to an archived news article. I did a search and came up with this link to support her: https://www.hrla.org.au/jasmine-sussex-eappeal?s=04&fbclid=IwY2xjawFJQyxleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHU0x5FHWOgMM7ahku_TZbnHigH1PO5Zcu_2DrhNiqA5XaqVkFtjgTlvk2w_aem_Og1vqloZfPY4sPyrGX51qg

As ever, a great write-up.

The Audrey/Aiden Hale section is particularly thought-provoking on both how tragic a mess this is (innocent lives lost 😥, a possible hormone-induced anger similar to how detransitioner Helena talks about the impact of testosterone) and the double standards on how "MtF" and "FtM" are handled in the media.

To end on a positive, this made me snort out loud:

"Surely, the procreation of the species has been a ‘big thing’ since forever, rather than some sinister Victorian plot to promote the cis-het normative?....

....And quite why Victorian taxidermy and butterflies with slight anomalies in their markings should “Speak to today’s LGBTQ+ community” is anybody’s guess." 😂

Nick then commented that the inclusion of ‘children’ (aren’t infant birds more accurately referred to as chicks or fledglings?) in the taxidermy displays, “Is really solidifying the nuclear family”. She added, “That was a big thing back then”.

Ooh, I'm still laughing. Are you sure she's not part of Comedy Unleashed?

Thanks for the horror stories, JL. Some shocking stuff only alleviated by Nick.

Yes. I was showing my kids clips of Rainbow, the old TV programme from the 70s. It was amazing to see a programme with the pink camp pig George on it but without any hint of this trans crap. Just a little bit of fun for the parents.
