Trans Atlantic Helen Joyce’s book, Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality, is now available in the US and has been reviewed in the New York Times. “Trans is a compelling, overdue argument for viewing self-ID more critically. Even those outraged by Joyce’s positions would benefit from understanding them… Open conversation about such fraught issues is the only realistic path forward, and Joyce’s book offers a good, impassioned start.
Gender ideology is white and privileged - I’ve been saying this for a long time. Women in some cultures don’t have the choice of opting out of their sex. I bet agp males wouldn’t dress up as women in countries where this would lead to violence, subjugation and imprisonment within the home
Wow, right on, Sole Sisters! This is what is needed everywhere: street organizing. Off social media and onto the streets (if you live someplace where there are people on the streets!). I admire them endlessly, and you, too, JL!
Great stuff. One in eight - thank you people of Scotland, this is really cheering news. How about a referendum on that?
Ref PCC for Swindon and Wiltshire, the BBC reporting pissed me off because they countered his very sensible comments with Stonebloodywall's dishonest viewpoint that transgenders women have always had access to women's facilities. It may have been true of the minute amount transsexuals, which, personally, I'm ok with. However, and it's not a complicated issue, regardless of how you identify, if you can hold your pisser in your hand, stay away from women's spaces.
Afghan women, and African American women who strongly object to that transgender bullshit make it really difficult for those who would describe us as transphobes, homophobes, right wing racists. Time to separate those labels I think.
Completely off topic, but does anyone know if the Oxford Feminist Union discussion with Julie Bindel, Helen Joyce, et al, is going to be recorded or streamed? I'm sure it's going to be a fascinating discussion and would love to be able to see it.
Thank goodness for good news. Sometimes I think my head’s going to explode with all this anger inducing bullshit. 🤯
Coventry women I’m part of this group 💃🏻

Does anyone know what is going on with the Webberley tribunal tweets? The account is suspended and Danial Webb's twitter account is locked.

Marion Millars fundraiser has just been terminated by the platform. Marion now has no way of getting the ginancial support she'll need for her case.
Brilliant round up; helps us know who to support and retweet.
Karen Davis, the lovely woman who has given us You're Kiddin', Right? has a lovely song out 'Lady Dique' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ufySCJOPPs&ab_channel=You%27reKiddin%27%2CRight%3F with great words put to an Old Brian Ferry song. She's a neat musician too (guitar and piano). Good fun.
Thank you for the joy of those esteemed words re Judith Butler, and in the Guardian's font.
