Monday 7th August - First Do No Harm
THE TELEGRAPH: A sexual violence survivor had her surgery cancelled over her need for same-sex care and now believes the delay nearly cost her life.
Teresa Steele was scheduled to have vital colorectal surgery at London’s Princess Grace Hospital last October. According to its own website, the hospital is “One of the UK’s best equipped, acute, private surgical hospitals providing complex care”.
Prior to her surgery, Teresa completed a pre-admission form detailing her requirements. Teresa is a survivor of sexual violence. For obvious reasons, being cared for by female-only staff in female-only accommodation is essential to her.
She attended the hospital for her clinical pre-op assessment, which involved intimate procedures. While she was there, someone she believed to be a trans-identified male entered her room. A young man wearing a blond wig and bright red lipstick knocked on the door but barged straight in without waiting for a response. He looked inside, made eye contact with Teresa and then left.
Concerned by this incident, Teresa made an urgent request to the hospital for all-female nursing care. She told The Daily Mail, “I began to panic that men would be attending to my intimate care at the hospital while I was immobilised for an entire week… I felt sick. Alarm bells were ringing in my head. I cannot describe the fear that I felt.”
Teresa wrote to the hospital’s parent company, HCA Healthcare, explaining her concerns and requesting a single sex nursing staff. “Please do not make life difficult for women when they are at their most vulnerable by forcing them into uncomfortable and embarrassing situations”, she said.
She was stunned when, a few days later, she received an email from hospital CEO, Maxine Estop Green, cancelling her surgery. She was told that the hospital ‘did not share her beliefs’ and was committed to protecting its staff from ‘unacceptable distress’. She was advised to make alternative arrangements for her surgery.
The surgery Teresa requires is highly specialised and the Princess Grace Hospital is one of the few places in the country to use the specialist equipment capable of performing such delicate and complex operations. Her health condition was extremely serious and this surgery was a matter of the utmost urgency.
Predictably, those on ‘the right side of history’ reacted to a survivor of sexual violence being left in a life-threatening condition with their usual vitriol.
Initially, the hospital accused Theresa of discrimination against their staff but later apologised to her for the breach of privacy. Following a public outcry involving a petition with thousands of signatures, Theresa’s surgery was rescheduled. However, Theresa developed an abscess which she believes was caused by the undue stress of this situation and her surgery had to be further delayed. This resulted in serious medical complications and a protracted recovery period. Theresa believes the entire situation nearly cost her life.
She is now calling on the HCA, one of the UK’s largest private healthcare companies, to change their policies to ensure that vulnerable patients are given protections with their sex-based rights respected and upheld. She would like a guarantee that patients can request and expect care from clinicians of the same sex.
“It is not a personal issue for me”, she said. “Since my experience with HCA, I have been contacted by many women patients who are now too afraid to speak out”.
Also Today - Leave Them Kids Alone
BBC NEWSNIGHT: Young teenagers on the waiting list for NHS child gender treatment will be fast tracked into adult services when they turn seventeen.
Hannah Barnes appeared on Newsnight to discuss NHS England’s plans for its new gender services. The upper age limit is to be lowered meaning that over 3,400 young people currently on the waiting list will be referred to the adult services. There is a fear that, as patients, they will not access the same level of care as those teenagers who are treated by child gender services.
Clinicians are now expected to carry out psychological assessment of patients under the age of eighteen to ascertain if conditions such autism or ADHD are affecting their gender distress. There is no such protocol for the patients who are referred to adult gender services. Consequently, the 17 year old patients being seen at adult clinics may not have any potential co-morbidities properly explored prior to their being prescribed cross-sex hormones or undergoing surgery.
Dr Hilary Cass has said, “The move to adult service at age 17-18 could fall at a critical time in a young person’s gender management… Further consideration will be needed regarding the age of transfer to adult services”.
Newsnight presenter, Victoria Derbyshire, spoke to Anna Castle who, together with another mother, is preparing to take legal action against the NHS. Both women have neurodiverse teenager daughters who are seeking NHS treatment for gender dysphoria. They are fearful that their daughters will be allowed to make irreversible and life-altering choices without any proper exploration of how co-morbidities could be affecting their ‘gender identity’. Consequently, the two mothers plan to bring a judicial review against the NHS, calling for adult clinics to approach treatment in a similar way to youth services.
Ms Castle told the Daily Mail, “Neuro-diverse kids are so vulnerable as it is... It can't go from there being massive concerns within the children's service to such a drop in care and safeguarding as soon as they turn seventeen”.

THE DAILY MAIL: A London restauranteur who hosted a lunch for Sharron Davies and friends has been vilified, abused and threatened by trans activists.
James Chiavarini owns Italian restaurant, Il Portico, the oldest family-run restaurant in London. He has been on the receiving end of trans activist vitriol in the past. Last year he suffered online abuse, spiteful reviews and even vandalism to his property after hosting a fund-raising event organised by JK Rowling and Suzanne Moore.
This week, he has, yet again, fallen prey to the ‘just be kind’ mob after the restaurant hosted a lunch attended by Sharron Davies and other campaigners for fairness in women’s sport.
Chiavarini believes that, due to his hosting this event, he has been targeted by trans activists. Immediately following this lunch, his restaurant received a number of extremely poor and one star reviews online. One such reviewer even commented that James should commit suicide.
There was further damage to his property.
And he was subject to the usual threats of violence on social media.
The ‘right side of history’, apparently.
Tuesday 8th August - We Told You So
REDUXX: A male student has legally changed his ‘gender’ in order to take advantage of a university programme with reserved places for women.
Last year the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) implemented a policy to tackle the huge male to female imbalance on certain of its courses. The university’s ‘development plan for gender equality and diversity’ means that extra admission points are awarded to female applicants who want to study on programmes dominated by male students.
According to Norwegian magazine, Finansavisen, a male student who had previously failed to meet merit-based standards, changed his legal gender in order to take advantage of NTNU’s policy.
In June 2016, Norway introduced Legislative Decree 71, gender self-ID legislation which allows anyone to change their legal sex without medical diagnosis or treatment. It is based purely on self-declaration and requires little more than a bit of form-filling.
The unnamed male student told Finansavisen that changing his sex was easy as changing his mobile phone plan and took approximately seven weeks. He also said that other male students have taken similar action, legally changing their sex in order to secure a university place.
Despite these revelations, NTNU will not be looking into the matter. Speaking to Khrono magazine, Faculty of Economics Dean, Monica Rolfsen, commented, “What kind of gender the student has and whether a student changes gender, and why, we really have nothing to do with that. It is a private matter”.
Wednesday 9th August - Sweet Charity
THE TIMES: The head of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity has signed a pledge committing to the promotion of gender ideology within the charity sector.
Louise Parkes is the chief executive of the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity. She is a signatory to a ‘Stand With Trans’ initiative organised by a group called Charity So Straight which deems itself ‘a voice for all LGBTQIA+ people in the voluntary sector’. The declaration calls on leaders of charities to demonstrate that they are on ‘the right side of history’ by pledging their “Absolute commitment to supporting the rights of our trans, non-binary, and gender diverse communities”. (‘Non-binary’ has no legal recognition or definition so how one supports the rights of a group that cannot be defined is anybody’s guess.) The pledge is, apparently, about resisting the ‘sex binary-patriarchy’.
Charity So Straight claims that the voices of ‘trans women’ being “Frequently left out of conversations around women’s rights” is an example of the ‘discrimination’ faced by the ‘trans community’. The CEO of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity has just signed a pledge which seemingly advocates for males being allowed to speak for women.
Stephanie Davies-Arai, founder of Transgender Trend, told The Times, “You’ve got women fighting to maintain women’s sex-based rights and parents expressing concerns about the medicalisation and transition of children. But this pledge is presenting a split that whoever questions anything to do with trans is expressing hate. Any charity that works with children should not support anything so politically divisive”.
As documented by @GenderReceipts, staff at the GOSH Charity underwent gender ‘training’ from trans lobby group, Global Butterflies, a couple of years ago.
We first reported on Global Butterflies over three years ago when an attendee at its training session for a legal firm described the content for Fair Cop. The session, ‘Beyond the Binary’, was presented by two trans-identified males who ‘identify’ as lesbians. The training involved the usual hyperbolic language about “Unprecedented hostility and danger to trans lives”, some pronoun nonsense, a spiel promoting self-ID legislation, a total misrepresentation of feminist concerns and the standard anti-science rhetoric about sex being a spectrum.
Louise Parkes was in post when the Global Butterflies’ training was approved for the GOSH Charity.
Also Today - Within These Walls
OKIDARIO: A trans identified male inmate has reportedly impregnated a woman at a female prison in Spain.
A trans-identified male prisoner moved to a women’s prison reportedly had a sexual relationship with a female inmate which left her pregnant.
The male, who has not been named, was originally incarcerated in the men’s section of Alicante Cumplimiento Penitentiary Centre in Spain. He is serving time for repeated convictions including robbery with force and kidnapping.
While in prison he began ‘identifying as a woman’ and calling himself by a female name. He did not seek any medical treatment or physical alteration but he was still granted a transfer to the female estate.
Anonymous sources within the prison told Okidiario that the trans-identified males who are granted a transfer to the women’s facility in Alicante were permitted to share bathrooms with the female prisoners. One informant commented, “They all showered together: the biological women with the transsexuals and had sex in the showers”. As a result it seems that one of the female inmates is now pregnant and the male has been removed from the facility.
There is another trans-identified male who remains in the women’s section of the Alicante Penitentiary. Prison staff have had to instigate ‘shifts’ for use of the shower to prevent his having any sexual contact with the women there.
In February, the Spanish government passed ‘La Ley Trans’ (the trans law) which allows anyone over the age of sixteen to self-declare their own gender. Someone’s legal sex can be changed on all official documents with nothing more than a bit of form-filling.
Thursday 10th August - The Right Side Of History #2
On Thursday this week, Joanna Cherry KC appeared in conversation at The Stand comedy club as part of the Edinburgh Festival. (You may remember that, following tantrums from staff, the venue had initially cancelled her appearance but reinstated the event after legal action was threatened.)
A number of newspapers detailed the ‘unprecedented’ security measures deemed necessary at the venue because of the fear of violence from trans activists.
The Stand said that after taking police advice, it had been forced to take “Extra measures to ensure the safety of everyone involved with staging the show and members of the audience”. These measures included bag searches and metal detectors.
Writing in The Edinburgh Evening News ahead the event, Susan Dalgety described the email which audience members had received from the venue.
“The email spells out very strict guidelines for the audience. We are to follow all instructions from the security personnel on duty. All bags larger than a small handbag are to be checked in. Small bags will be searched and people may be asked to empty their pockets. Metal detectors will be in operation… Any person carrying weapons, glue, paint, chemicals, loud hailers and or banners will be refused entry”.
“Who would take a weapon or chemicals or even a loud hailer to watch a female politician talk about her life and her job?”, asked Dalgety. “Extreme trans activists, that’s who”.
In the end, the event went ahead and the audience - a full house - thoroughly enjoyed the interesting and entertaining conversation of a brave and brilliant woman.
However, trans activists couldn’t help making their presence felt. It seems a masked man was photographing members of the audience as they arrived.
In an appalling and puerile display, The Stand’s own staff had the gall to boo Joanna Cherry KC at the end of her appearance. They may also have been responsible for some unscheduled ‘smoke effects’, of which the audience were not forewarned as is legally required.
Furthermore, the words ‘protect trans kids’ were projected onto the backdrop after Joanna Cherry KC left the stage.
Joanna Cherry said that she and the audience had felt ‘palpable hostility’ from the staff working at The Stand. Commenting on social media, she said, “It’s a shame that some of the Stand staff saw fit to continue the unlawful harassment of me on account of my sexuality & beliefs”. She added, “I hope the Stand staff who were present listened to my actual views which are in the mainstream rather than the social media bubble, accord with the majority of people in Scotland, and I hope are always expressed in a measured way”.
The ‘right side of history’ crew were offered an opportunity to present their arguments during the event. But they declined, of course.
Friday 11th August - This Never Happens
REDUXX: A trans-identified male paedophile has been sentenced to four years in prison having been apprehended trying to sexually abuse teenager girls.
30-year-old Danielle Edney (who sometimes calls himself ‘Ariane Grande’) is from Crawley in West Sussex. We reported on him earlier this year.
In May 2022, Edney was caught in a sting operation after communicating with a decoy he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. He arranged to meet the girl, allegedly telling her to bring her school uniform and a bikini. When arriving at the agreed rendezvous, Edney was confronted by predator hunters from a group called STOP Sting. Those involved in the sting passed the evidence they had gathered to the police and Edney was subsequently arrested.
In December 2022 Edney was apprehended by another and unrelated group of volunteer paedophile hunters called PEST (Predators Exposed Sting Team). A source at the group told Reduxx that he had spent seven months building a case against Edney throughout 2022. During this period Edney had communicated online with numerous children, including multiple accounts from decoys operated by PEST’s own investigation team. Edney became particularly interested in one decoy whose account gave the appearance of being operated by a vulnerable 14-year-old girl.
Edney arranged to meet the girl in person, reportedly telling her that he intended to ‘impregnate’ her. When he arrived at the rendezvous, however, two PEST operatives were waiting for him. Their information was passed onto the police and, again, Edney was arrested. Following his arrest he set up a profile on a dating website where he described himself as ‘female’ and ‘lesbian’. He specified a partner aged 18-19, the lowest possible age range permitted by the site.
Last month, Edney was sentenced to 4 years in prison at Lewes Crown Court. He was also given an indefinite term on the sex offender’s register and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. On his release from prison, Edney will be barred from wearing any kind of high-visibility vest as he has worn such garments in the past, trying to impersonate a police officer.
A man pretending to be something he isn’t in order to predate on women and children? But surely this is something that could never, has never and would never happen?
Also Today - I Can’t Believe It’s Not Satire
ACI DIGITAL: A former conservative Mexican congressman has been found guilty of ‘gender based violence’ for ‘misgendering’ a trans-identified male.
Rodrigo Iván Cortés is a former congressman with Mexico’s National Action Party and now leads an organization called the National Front for the Family (FNF). While some of his views may be deemed reactionary, he has been convicted of ‘violence’ for simply stating the truth.
Salma Luévano, a trans-identified male, is a Mexican politician and a prominent LGBTQ activist. He is a member of the ruling left-wing Morena party and was elected to the Mexican parliament in 2021. Last year he put forward a bill (while wearing a Pope costume) intending to criminalise Christian views on sexuality and ‘gender identity’ and deem them ‘hate speech’.
In responding to this bill on social media, Cortés referred to Luévano as a ‘man who self-ascribes as a woman’. Luévano filed a complaint and Cortés was charged with committing ‘gender-based political violence’.
Following a guilty verdict and a failed appeal, Cortés has been convicted by the highest court in Mexico of (i) gender-based political violence, (ii) digital violence, (iii) symbolic violence, (iv) psychological violence, and (v) sexual violence for his social media expression. He has been fined 19,244 pesos (around £900), must take a ‘gender-based political violence’ course and has been recorded on the National Registry of Persons Sanctioned in Political Matters against Women. Furthermore, he has been ordered to publish the court’s ruling alongside an apology - to be written by the court - on his social media accounts every day for 30 days. Looks like his punishment will be enforced compliance.
Saturday 12th August - Men Make The Best Women
THE TELEGRAPH: A trans-identified male soldier was included on a panel at a British Army ‘women in leadership’ event.
Warrant Officer Class 2 and former rugby player, Deborah (formerly David) Penny, joined the Army in September 1982. He is a trans-identified male who first began ‘identifying as a woman’ in 2004 and completed his ‘transition process’ in 2010. He is currently the Warrant Officer for diversity and inclusion in Army Engagement.
Last week, he participated in an Army event at Sandhurst about women in leadership roles. He appeared on a panel discussing the ‘lived experience’ of women in the armed forces.
WO2 Penny may well be an esteemed and valuable Army office whose long military service is deserving of respect. But he is not a woman and he has no ‘lived experience’ of being a woman. He has absolutely no right to represent women on any forum.
The Army only opened all its combat roles to women five years ago. Until 2018, women in the army found their job and opportunities limited by their sex. WO2 Penny, of course, experienced no such limitations to his career. For example, during the 1980s he completed the Commando Course and served with 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery, opportunities barred to women at that time.
Women are hugely underrepresented in the Armed Forces, particularly in positions of leadership. The latest government statistics show that in 2021 only 13.8% of officers in were women. Furthermore, only 24 women held senior officer positions, ie those of the rank OF-6 and above.
In an attempt to redress this imbalance and encourage more females into leadership roles, the Army had a male speak for and over women. You couldn’t make it up.
Also Today - Physician, Heal Thyself
THE DAILY MAIL: NHS hospitals allow males who ‘present’ as women on part-time and/or temporary bases to be accommodated on female wards.
The Daily Mail has uncovered NHS guidance which allows males who ‘identify’ or ‘present’ as women even only temporarily to be accommodated on supposedly women-only wards, regardless of whether or not they have legally ‘changed sex’.
According to the paper, one NHS trust has a policy which claims, “People who are not living full-time as a woman have been on women’s wards with no issues at all”.
The Daily Mail’s investigation has also revealed that NHS staff are being provided with long lists of nonsensical terms, such as ‘abrosexual’ and ‘third-gendered’, some of which come straight from Stonewall. Of more concern is that, according to experts, some official NHS policies even mis-represent equality law.
Maya Forstater commented, “These policies are shocking. They put the health of transgender patients at risk, and undermine the rights of everyone else. If there is one place where it should be obvious that no one should be confused about a person’s sex it is when they are receiving medical treatment”.
Sunday 13th August - Leave Lesbians Alone
THE DAILY MAIL: A lesbian-only speed dating event and its organiser has been attacked as ‘transphobic’ because it was female-only.
Jenny Watson is a 31-year-old town planner who, for almost five years, has organised regular lesbian speed dating events in London.
A trans-identified male began gatecrashing these events, on one occasion harassing a woman in the female toilet. Consequently, Jenny felt she had to specify that the events are solely for lesbians ie female-only. She posted a perfectly polite clarification of the events’ criteria on her website; “If you are male, please refrain from coming to the events, you are not a lesbian”.
Trans activists subsequently contacted Jenny’s employer, accusing her of ‘transphobia’, and trying to get her sacked because she knows that lesbians do not have penises. Jenny Watson told The Daily Mail, “Transgender individuals deserve respect. But there is a need for protection of sex-segregated spaces for lesbian women”.
Furthermore, the venue itself, The College Arms in Bloomsbury, where the event had been held for almost five years, cancelled the lesbian speed dating events.
Jenny was told the decision was purely commercial. However, as she discussed with Andrew Doyle on GB News’ Free Speech Nation, there is evidence to suggest that the new manager of The College Arms colluded with trans activists to purposefully get the event barred. He was a member of a WhatsApp message group where, it seems, he discussed his deliberate intention to cancel the event. In one screenshot displayed by GB News he states, “I’ll be seeing the area manager today and can make it clear I want their bookings cancelled”. In other messages seen by GB News he used the phrase ‘fucking TERFs’ and described Jenny as a ‘TERFy asshole’.
Together with Kate Barker of the LGB Alliance, Jenny met with the manager of The College Arms and a senior representative from The Stonegate Group, the company which owns the venue. Seeking a solution to the situation, they suggested a trans speed-dating evening and a separate women-only lesbian event. They were told that it is not possible to exclude males from a supposedly lesbian-only night.
The Stonegate Group have declined to comment on this issue.
