Just a handful of good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
Kellie-Jay v Keir
Kellie Jay Keen says she’s going to stand against Keir Starmer at the next election and “Force the man to talk about this issue”.
She is set to launch The Other Party, a new political kid on the block, next year.
“There is not a single politician that will not have to answer what is a woman… This is going to drive the message home in a way that nobody, nobody, can pretend they don’t know what the issue is.”
Pass the popcorn and lets look forward to the fireworks…
Scotland The Brave
Look at these amazing sheroes in Scotland, making their voices heard outside the Scottish Labour headquarters and protesting the gender reform bill.
While we’re on the subject, a report in The Daily Record suggests that “Scottish Labour support for the Government’s gender recognition bill is ‘very fragile’ after robust discussions on the plans”.
A Labour Party source told the paper that, “There are senior MSPs who are very unhappy with the Bill and their support cannot be taken for granted. The situation is very fragile and hard to predict.”
Westminster Won’t Wheesht
The Times reported that ministers in Westminster are deeply concerned over Scotland’s gender recognition reform bill and have called for it to be scrapped.
Kemi Badenoch, the Women and Equalities Minister, has written to Nicola Sturgeon, expressing her concern. “Individuals contemplating the very serious step of changing their legal sex need clarity on the process that they must undertake and I am concerned about the impact of having divergent regimes in the different parts of the UK.”
According to UK government sources ‘close to the process’, there’s every possibility that, should the bill pass, ministers will refuse to recognise documentation issued under the new Scottish system.
Furthermore, according to inside sources, ministers will consider taking the Scottish government to the Supreme Court over the conflict with the UK-wide equalities laws which are decided by Westminster.
Justice Is Served
Remember Scott Ziegler, Superintendent of the Loudoun County School Board who lied to and gaslit parents and pupils about a trans-identified male student accused of sexually assaulting female students?
Well, he’s just lost his job. Following a scathing indictment of his conduct in a special grand jury report, the Loudoun County School Board voted unanimously to give Ziegler the sack. Sometimes karma does its job.
Hey, Teacher
And do you remember the Canadian school teacher who teaches his classes wearing huge fake breasts with protruding nipples who was defended by his school board?
Oakville high school parents are taking legal action against the Halton District School Board for allowing this ‘overtly sexual attire’ in the classroom.
Celina Close, spokesperson for Students First Ontario group, commented, “With the lack of communication with both the school and the school board, we have secured a lawyer and are going to continue to pursue the legal route”.
Glinner Of Hope
Don’t miss Our Graham speaking to Winston Marshall on the Spectator’s podcast, Marshall Matters.
“That you shouldn’t give kids surgical interventions and pharmaceutical interventions that might have long-lasting effects, that women don’t deserve to lose their livelihoods for being feminists, that JK Rowling doesn’t deserve to have death and rape threats sent to her, that male prisoners shouldn’t be placed in the female estate, that NHS wards should be women only... These are not controversial opinions.”
Presents For Peaking
If you’re stuck for a few Christmas present ideas (especially for those who may be in need of enlightenment!), here are some suggestions courtesy of The GC Crowd.
The perfect gift for fully fledged terfs and fence-sitters alike, Transpositions is “A collection of narratives from women and men about how they first became aware of the brewing conflict around ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ and how they decided to make their voices heard”. It was compiled and edited by Sarah Phillimore and our very own Molely and features a contribution from you humble author.
There are several excellent options available from the Transgender Trend publishing site with Sex and Gender being a great book to help teens understand the issues.
Rachel Rooney’s glorious book, My Body Is Me, is a beautifully illustrated celebration of everything our bodies can achieve and makes a superb gift for children.
But any of Rachel’s wonderful (and award winning) books would make a valuable addition to a child’s bookcase.
Milli Hill’s books make excellent presents for women and girls (the actual kind!).
And who wouldn’t be delighted to find Graham in their Christmas stocking??
A gift subscription to The Glinner Update will make you everyone’s favourite Santa! What could be better than the gift of knowledge?!
Finding Graham in your Christmas stocking would be fantastic, finding Graham in stockings would not be fantastic.
