I’m particularly pleased at the strong wording in the schools guidance because I was concerned that schools were being left to decide for themselves who could socially transition. This would have meant that ‘woke’ teachers could carry on as before and that schools could be harassed by woke parents. I’d have preferred a complete ban on any kind of transition at school but at least this is a start. Let’s hope that schools comply and we do not have the horrific situation of pupils being forced to lie despite the evidence of their own eyes, which is distressing for children and completely destroys safeguarding. And great news about the enforcement of single sex spaces.
When considering applying for jobs a few years ago they were the type of jobs where we were asked do you mind not getting public credit for your work or your successes? I mulled that over and resolved that if I knew, and my team and colleagues knew that I was working hard and for things we believed in, that that was enough (that and having a roof and food is nice). So my name doesn't appear, is far down a random list if at all and I am often totally invisible. There are far more of us living and working in careers and lives like this CB. Take care and take heart! :-)
I love your courage and tenacity and I love that you've transformed the brutality of trans ideology into the highest form of revenge - creative arts. If my daughter and granddaughter only knew how hard you're fighting for them and all women against the trans juggernaut to ensure they/we all don't face a nightmarish future.
We’re kicking arses! Yay! Slow and steady wins the race. Some of the bullies and perverts must be getting the message by now? There will probably be a concerted backlash for a while but now that more people have had their eyes opened to the pernicious creep of this vile ideology it will eventually go out with a whimper. Or a bang. Don’t care which. As long as it blows up in their over made up lipstick smeared ugly mugs. Bugger off buttercups. I do love saying that.
It's just rather a pity that Miriam Cates -- ex-biology teacher -- turns out to be the leading light of a new far right Tory faction, the "New Conservatives". With all thanks to her for joining forces with Rosie Duffield across party lines, it would be nice to have more moderate Tories championing this cause.
There was a lot of frothing online about it. Worth a look and with her guest appearances at a few recent events/forums.
We are at a pretty pass where people are being excluded from mainstream political consensus, yet do have legitimate opinions and support, so there is an inevitable lurch to leanings either left or right (as were previous wings of old style parties). Moderates have watched this under their watch as they sit on fences getting splinters.
Thanks, Little - I will. You are quite correct about forced extremism. I used to think it was just the Overton Window changing, but I have to admit that I'm actually reviewing what I thought were unchangeable aspects of my political/world views as a result of where I see things headed. It's uncomfortable.
Regarding the Express review of Tough Crowd: anyone who has researched gender identity ideology and its effects knows that Graham is already vindicated. That he is so is also demonstrated time after time in interviews with him wherein the only 'challenge' interviewers can raise against his views is to claim that the odd tweet has been slightly inappropriately worded.
Some good news here, and I very much hope the new guidance for UK schools goes ahead and it isn't going to be reversed under a Labour government. The Tories haven't done enough to safeguard children or protect women's rights, but the opposition would worse. But Pandora's Box has been half opened and will continue to open up, and the identity of individuals and organisations helping the abuse to happen will be increasingly be scrutinised. Not that much scrutiny is needed in some instances.
I’m actually bloody in tears! Halleluia! 🥰👏👏🥳🥳 Well done to EVERY single one of us who has written letters, signed petitions and fought tooth and claw for protection for children in schools. And the rest of the news is also marvellous. But the schools.....thank God!
Whilst it appears good news that the proposed new guidance, after further advocacy to DfE by Sex Matters, Transgender Trend, and Miriam Cates, it is not the time to get complacent. This insidious cult has its tentacles deep, far and wide. I was alarmed, but not surprised, that during the review Mermaids shows blatant contempt for due process by advising teachers on video that "its only guidance and not law and can be ignored". Further they offered full support to their deranged, deluded acolytes. It is is astonishing that this vile organisation is so blase, whilst still be investigated by the Charity Commission ( hopefully soon to be by the police) ,that it still feels emboldened to propagate its filth. The Charity Commission should review this video, as part of their investigation that this organisation has gone way beyond it's original remit in the betrayal of children .
That's a very risky thing for Mermaids and also Stonewall to do. Having been responsible for writing and contributing to the production of guidance there is the very clear, obvious and unwritten but well-accepted and well-known rule that if you divert from this you must show your working. The law is the last resort and we all need a guide to knowing where and when it applies. That is how legislation changes and is tweaked and updated and that's ongoing. Where new evidence comes to light it can be integrated.
To ignore guidance with no justification is ludicrous, ignorant and foolish. And I hope those who do this, on no or weak evidence and to pursue an ideological front, are slapped down by our regulatory structures and that includes our criminal justice system.
Sorry, yes that was what I failed to mention - I tend to do this with obvious things. Whoops. It's an open goal for some lucky solicitors and barristers. It should be seen off way before it reaches the courts. I have witnessed and been present at some rather hilarious takedowns but it's actually enjoyable to watch these overconfident and malevolent bullies get their comeuppance. That's what gives me some remaining faith.
Some of these statements have 'legal challenge' written in bright glittery highlighter pen all over them. Then you see their 'legal counsel' is Dentonsish and identify as non-binary staplers for part of the week.
I don't see why it would be unreasonable for a concerned member of the public who had seen the video you describe to write to the Charity Commission and ask them if it is within their remit to review it ... ?
It would be reasonable. Please do it! I didn't suggest it wasn't - it's more to do with who will be listened to and over what. It could take one member of the public, or several, or a professional or anyone with concerns to highlight things such as this to the Charity Commission. I am sure they have been made aware. It has to be quite a tight remit and a specific bit of law though and quite a few issues, so to bring the whole concept of Charity generally into disrepute isn't enough. There needs to be quite a bit of evidence and in quite a sustained and specific way to show this. It's only by getting Mermaids, Stonewall and their supposed 'advisors', 'consultants' and connected 'Professors' on the stand, giving testimony, usually on employment law matters that we have had all this revealed. And their specific attempts to remove the Charity status of another Charity. Their wider behaviours, campaigns and targeting of anyone who disagrees is appalling. And their disregard for legal processes whilst in them reveals a lot. All their delaying tactics, pathetic use of 'support dogs' and bringing their mums along when they are the ones conducting deplatforming, harassment and whispering campaigns.
Charity law is a very complicated area and the Charity Commission seem to have to investigate for a while before action can be taken.
Some fantastic pieces of news, thanks JL.

Nick Fletcher and Miriam Cates are both Conservative MPs who took historically Labour seats in South Yorkshire. I'm glad they did!

I confess I'd missed that. Yes, it's a pity.

Thanks as ever,JL! Always a great uplift 😎
Glad the schools guidance is stronger than expected.
Great news re sport and the brave women involved!
Will enjoy reading that Canadian judgment.
Brave, wise and funny - that about sums up Glinner. Could have added’giant’ 😂
Loved the arse kicking dance 😀
Recommend Birdy Rose doing 10 part demolition of a trans article. She’s got to Part 4 😀
Thanks again
Dusty
Do you have access to the judgment on the Canadian case, JL? I presumed it would be in the links somewhere but can't locate it.
Cheers
Dusty
Can't find one (but then only had a cursory Google - spinning dozens of plates this evening!). More info on Carolyn's website though.

Hi JL
I have found it but could not do link so have copied and pasted it to myself.
I think I will just paste it onto my next update ( which will be Thursday) and let people know it is there ( it is only 6 pages long).
Thanks again for your help.😊
Dusty
I have now posted the transcript and a few comments on it 😎
It's a great read!

Ignoring guidance also gives solid legal challenge!

Thank you, thank you so much JL - I really needed this and will pore over it at length! That first image is wonderful and speaks volumes :-)

Thanks very much JL.
Pleasure!
Thank god for your good news round up
