Some heart-warming stories from the gender beat in the last round-up of the year.
Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Fair Cop!’
Harry Miller was victorious in his legal challenge to the College of Policing’s Hate Crime Operational Guidance.
The Court of Appeal ruled that the recording of ‘non-crime hate incidents’ is an unlawful interference in freedom of expression.
And then this happened…
And then this happened…
Huge congratulations to Harry, Sarah, Rob and the Fair Cop team for their tenacity, hard work and courage. This is a landmark victory and a tremendous success for the upholding of free speech.
Womentum Won’t Wheesht
A group of brilliant feminist activists staged this wonderful action in Bristol, putting on a marvellous display over the M32 motorway.
Esther, one of the intrepid women responsible, told me, “We were stunned by the overwhelming public response from the driving and passenger public, who responded enthusiastically with waving and horn blasts. A much stronger response than when we did the previous banner drop in the same place two years ago.”
Stock Tipped For A Peerage
According to this report in The Daily Mail, a number of senior Conservatives are lobbying Downing Street to give Kathleen Stock a peerage.
One source said, “She could go in to the Lords as an independent — her voice would be hugely important in the culture war”.
Bad News For Nancy & Co
The barrister who accused Stonewall of misrepresenting Equality law is to sit on the board of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
When the University of Essex no-platformed two feminist speakers amid allegations of ‘transphobia’, Akua Reindorf undertook an independent review. She subsequently published a report that was scathing of the university’s relationship with Stonewall and drew attention to Stonewall’s misrepresenting of the Equality Act 2010 and hate crime legislation.
Liz Truss has just appointed Reindorf to serve on the EHRC board.
The Emperor Is Naked
High-profile women in US swimming have been speaking out against the lunacy which allows Lia Thomas to compete against females.
Human rights lawyer, Nancy Hogshead-Makar, is a former Olympian medal winner who swam on the USA national team from 1976–1984. She wrote in Swimming World about the unfairness of Lia Thomas’ inclusion in women’s swimming.
“Girls and women shouldn’t give up their hard-won sports opportunities… Allowing transgender women to change the meaning of the women’s category makes as much sense as allowing 180-pound athletes into the 120-pound weight category.”
Veteran USA Swimming official, Cynthia Millen, resigned from her post in protest.
“I told my fellow officials that I can no longer participate in a sport that allows biological men to compete against women. Everything fair about swimming is being destroyed”.
Sorting Sheep From Goats
Janice Turner’s final Times column of 2021 is a must-read.
A very happy new year to all you wonderful goats, billies and nannies. Lets hope 2022 sees our herd continue to grow.
And Finally…
May the gender critty kitty bestow blessings on you in 2022.
Thank you so much for this good news! It is so easy to get depressed by the amount of nonsense we are being fed. Things will only keep going in the right direction if we all keep going. Let's keep fighting!
So much that has happened, particularly in 2021, that has been soul destroying, and depressing, to such depths.
Then, I remind myself, if so much effort is being put in place, to try and eradicate us, to put us on the shelf and to have us barged aside … with elbows, boots, and by removing our words, we Women, must be fucking amazing !
Did they think we would go quietly?
No fight back ?
2022 will mean eyes are open wider, and we will be listening, and we will never stop speaking out, EVER !
