I hate the wording of the BBC article headline. Transgender players are not banned. They are not allowed to compete in the wrong category is all. The constant media manipulation and disinformation on this topic really drives me crazy!

Yeah and so called " trans men " are NOT banned from women's sport because they ARE women ,regardless of how they " identify "

Yes, but. What if they are taking testosterone?

Expand full comment

Well ,they probably would be banned ,even if they're not trans. That's considered to be doping !! However if they were female and self identifying as trans or nb without hormone enhancements ,of course they would be eligible to compete with the women

Wow, thank you. Good to see the world of sport finally changing and good to remember Martina Navratilova who was one of the first to speak out.

And Ireland, at last, is listening to women.

Love both cat and dog clips, thanks for those too.

Why has it taken sporting bodies so long to stick their heads above the parapet? Are they, like so many, worried about a trans backlash, being called TERFs and being threatened with a throat punch by these poor, marginalised, bullied men?! Grow some and get on with it. Male puberty can’t be eradicated with a few drugs. And women will not be eradicated - EVER! 💚🤍💜

Oh, thank goodness.

When this horrifically sexist ideology took hold and was championed as progressive and the liberal left colluded in the firing, smearing, defaming and attacking of feminist women who objected, I was rocked by the realization that even my most cherished institutions were irredeemably sexist. I could not believe and still cannot believe a single man has ever entered into women’s sports when a woman would be eliminated for doping in a heartbeat if she took testosterone; when they ban a female athlete for smoking marijuana after her mother’s funeral- as if a joint would enhance her Olympic performance- but won’t ban an actual man from the woman’s category, I basically thought we were finished; they don’t actually see us as people at all. They see us as imaginary characters, and there’s nothing we can do about it.

Now it seems that while all of that may still be true, if enough people shake these arseholes by their shoulders and shout “what the bloody hell are you doing?,” they will begin to take notice. So maybe, just maybe, ten years from now we will return to some kind of normalcy, in which I wouldn’t possibly be fired from a teaching job for saying I’m concerned about the teaching of sexist stereotypes in the classroom.

Thanks, JL. This was heartening.

this was welcome news seems the great awakening has begun - our public and civil service need to be ordered to take out all the 'diversity and inclusive' policies now and if its not then heads should roll - as for the Press and the BBC - stop paying your licence (i dont and wont but still watch) and complain everytime they call a man a woman.

Brilliant post once again ,JL. Thank God for all those wonderful women ( and men ) who have a public platform and are courageously speaking out on this issue ,in spite of all the threats and intimidation by the tras .Sometimes we feel so helpless in the face of this onslaught against women and children, the worst I've ever seen . Unimaginable when I was young ,and women had fewer rights then. Men's rights activists must be really terrified that we obtained those rights. WHY ??. Keep it up ,JL , you're doing a great job.👍👏♥️

Isn't it just. There's so much bleak and shocking stuff around gender ideology, it's so important to be reminded that there is also good news.

I would argue that this is an invitation for transgender preteens (who were advised to wait for change procedures past their teens) to insist to have their wished 'gender' change asap or else.................

JL, this is great news! And. More good news for your next report: A newly formed organization, ICONS (Women's Independent Council on Women’s Sports) just held its 1st conference over the past 3 days in Las Vegas, Nevada. People making presentations included young female athletes negatively impacted by males self-identifying into their sports and Olympians / sports icons discussing the positive influence of competing against other women made in their lives (including Martina Navratilova via Zoom); scientists Emma Hilton, Ross Tucker, Collin Wright and Carole Hooven; and representatives from women's advocacy groups on the left and the right discussing the law suits they've filed against males self-identifying into women's competitions and women's prisons). They were three amazing, empowering days. More about ICONS and its conference can be found on Facebook ("icons_women) and its website: www.iconswomen.org.

Absolutely, Alice. I don't think we (in this resistance) can expect to agree with each other on everything. And I don't think it really matters. But we'll stick together to win the war. Thank you so much for your support!
