Meanwhile on this side of the pond, I am answering every email I get from Democrats with the following message:

"If you want to let men cheat women out of their Title IX sports, put rapists in women’s prisons, and keep sterilizing gay and lesbian children, then you will not have my vote, my money, or my support."

I am fully prepared to accept the political consequences.

Please could you add autistic children to your reply. They are so vulnerable to this ideology and all the autistic charities seem to be captured.

Good. But they need to act pretty fast because this is harming autistic children, my daughter being one of them. I have nowhere to turn to where I feel my daughter is 100percent safe. I’m living in an area where gender identity politics if rife. Charlotte Nichols is my mp and doesn’t give a shit.

I'm just waiting for the begging phone calls, particularly from our U.S. House representative.

I got a call from NARAL the other evening -- from a man -- and when I said I don't support organizations that replace "women" with "people" regarding reproductive rights, his response? "That makes no sense." Not to a brain-dead idiot, it doesn't.

I love Prof Robert Winston’s (very patient) explanation, so clear. Sex is in every cell of our bodies.

Now TRAs are objecting to that because we don't know how people "identified" when we dig up their bones. Just when you thought it couldn't get any stupider ...

May I be the first to say how good it is to read some of these comments. “Your Mum is a Terf”. Too damn right I am and proud to be so. We have all worked so hard here on Terf Island not least to give courage to others to speak out. Well done all of you and especially Rachel Reeves who has shown the men in her party how to do it. Starmer and Lammy you look like a couple of cowardly clowns.

Well, Rachel Reeves has cheered me up, and it’s great to have the Prof being factual again too! I’ve been thinking this week about that slur ‘transphobic’ and I was thinking…you know, I probably am now. After all this horrendous stuff, I have lost all the compassion and understanding I once had for these people. I am truly a TERF! 🥳😁 I’m back here after time away because that horrendous Drag show for children really messed me up. But am feeling better and ready for the next round. Isn’t Sharron Davies a gem? And Maya won her case too! Halleluia!

You know, I feel the same. Before all of this I was very much live and let live, I thought drag was a laugh and loved the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Grayson Perry, but now I feel like I don't want anything to do with men dressing as women. I am suspicious of their motives in a way that I never was before.

Yeah I would listen to all their (now boring) tales of a lifetime of Dysphoria but now I don't care. Why is that disorder taking precedence over others?

And I don't agree with their revolting botched surgeries even for adults. They're dangerous, don't work and are frankly creepy.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Im frightened. I didn't used to be. It makes me quite angry that I should feel frightened about something that didn't bother me before. It's a regression of rights.

I found your comment/story very moving and I have to agree, you’ve nailed it. I am the same. I’ve noticed myself inwardly snarling at young men with unicorn hair too. That was never me before all of this kicked off.

Expand full comment

Yes. I've had pink and purple in my hair for 12 years but in 8 days time I'm having it dyed out because i associate it with genderists. I feel silly giving in and not being strong about my alternative hair which was uncommon even at uni when I first started doing it. But it's not wacky and "rock" anymore. It's the hair of cultists.

Expand full comment

Ditto on the hair. I used to fantasise about pink hair, but I think this whole gender identity thing is wrong because it's about people feeling the need to show the world they are 'different'. As if they are more special than anyone else. I always go with the fact that everyone is unique already. We don't need to wear it like some kind of badge saying "ooh look at me, there's never been anyone like me before". We're all one offs, regardless of what we do to our outward appearance and as for our feelings, they are nobody's business unless we wish to share imho. Gender Ideology makes so many patronising assumptions about us, how we should feel. I can honestly say the only time I've really felt 'like a woman' was when I was having painful periods. The rest of the time I'm just me.

I guess that I 'feel like a woman' 24/7 because, well, I wouldn't know how ELSE to feel! Like a man? Not something that I'll ever know about firsthand, by definition. I'm always in this body, after all... and it's an adult female body.

So no matter what I'm doing-- even if it's something that most men also do; even if it's unrelated to one's biological sex in any direct way (grocery shopping, walking, watching TV)-- I 'feel like a woman' while doing so. Which is to say... I feel like ME. The same as every other person does.

Thank you for that, Graham, I needed cheering up. The fecking awful Scottish Greens are about to split from the Greens in rUK because they’re ‘transphobic’. In other words there are those in their ranks who understand that men can’t become women.

All good news. Just watched Dina Asher Smith race, and beat, Seyni, described by the Times as 'intersex' but looking, to all intents and purposes, just like a man. Husband says "runs like a man, and look at those biceps!". I wonder what Dina makes of Seyni. Does anyone know why the world athletics bodies haven't followed in the footsteps of FINA, World Rugby and British Cycling?

I always found Rocky Horror repulsive.

Grayson Perry ? I wonder what he really thinks about what’s going on. He doesn’t give much away on the current trans debate & the way things have gone. As a fellow artist I can’t believe he thought what happened to Jesse de Wahls was ok. As far as I know, he’s made no comment - probably in case anything that he says could be used against him if on trial for crimes against trans ideology & gets thrown into thought correction camp.

It could be what I’ve said about Grayson is true; who knows? What I know to be true (100%) is that many people are too scared to speak about their thoughts , feelings & reservations about trans ideology & incursions into women’s spaces (both physical & psychological) & have been forced to comply. Whatever you think about trans, this is wrong under any circumstance. It’s not acceptable from any other pressure group & on principle shouldn’t be acceptable in relation to trans. No exceptions.

From what I've heard and read , Grayson Perry has no time for gender woo. He's very clear about being 'a man in a dress'. Clare is just a persona and does not alter his sex. “No one’s as sexist as a transvestite. We like gender roles. I always describe myself as gender rigid." I think he knows how many beans make five! ;-)

Many of the people who went on about their like of Rocky Horror seemed very uptight middle class people who thought it was soooooo risqué and dangerous. They wouldn't know something ground-breaking, risky or genuinely dangerous if it hit them round the face. A man in stockings how outrageous! It seemed a way to signal how 'out there' you were in a tame way. They could signal their interesting craziness in a nice safe way. It's a bit like people who dye their hair and spend ages telling you the meaning of their tattoos. Yes, I get it, you are a truly outrageous rebel and live life on the edge. Ooooohhh. I am so impressed, look at how impressed I am, how unique you are, job done. So much of this is about signalling and then denying you are signalling with your signalling.

Grayson in his get up as a little girl always made me uncomfortable but it was so extreme and ridiculous and hearing him talk about it over the years, there's a sense of how he is presenting this as a genuine artistic statement and concepts he is playing with. And as JL has said, he knows full well he is a man.

I’ve read his autobiography. He’s quite honest about his fetish. According to him it’s stemming from childhood trauma. I think he’s had to analyse himself over the years in order to figure out why he was doing what he was doing.

If his fetish is socially normalised, there will be no need to go to that kind of effort, will there?

Expand full comment

Which is why I will fight tooth and nail to stop this being 'normalised'.

And it's breath taking how this lobby have been working behind the scenes so deliberately and cleverly for so long. To 'redefine' then to remove whole sections of psychiatric manuals leaves me staggered. And hugely concerned.

The slip slidey oh just be nice who does it harm about delusions and fetishes unpinning us all from any shared reality.

Gotta admit: while I'm certainly eager (even desperate) for evidence that the tide is at long last turning here... some of the stuff in that link? Really worries me.

From 'the thinking housewife' herself: "Serritella is a liberal who believes homosexuality is not harmful (though the evidence that it is physically, psychologically and spiritually harmful is abundant.)"

From the book (by Serritella) that is the subject of her post: "The true gender is rooted in the soul. The soul is either male or female. The soul is never intersexed or hermaphroditic, even when the body is. When the body is intersexed, we have either a male soul with female parts, or a female soul with male parts. The binary nature of gender is reinforced more than ever in the hermaphrodite. The soul’s gender is pure, even when the body’s is not. Even if chromosome tests could not determine the gender for some reason, that does not change the pure gender of the soul; it only means that it’s unknown." Um... what the actual fuck?

Oh, and there's mention of Satanism, too. Because how can just plain human stupidity, selfishness, and perversity be sufficient explanation? (Reminds me of the quote, "the devil is an optimist if he thinks that he can make people meaner.")

Basically, this sort of thing is exactly what trans-boosters would have everyone believe motivates their opponents. Homophobia, gendered-soul malarkey, Satanic panic... Bible-Thumpery 101. Anti-trans = religious fundamentalist. Which instantly discredits us in the eyes of liberals/progressives. Yeah, I know that it DOES describe some who won't drink the trans Kool-Aid... but not those of us who won't drink THEIR Kool-Aid, either.

My impression is that we need to erode the support-base for transgenderism. And that means appealing to progressives. Which can best be done by convincing them that trans and genderism are actually anathema to progressive values. Stuff like 'the thinking housewife' is peddling will accomplish precisely the opposite.

If they waffle or I can’t find someone to vote for I’ll spoil my vote. I can’t be doing with all this ‘misgendering’ stuff since I heard a trans with one breath saying ‘it’s bad’ then with the next mis-naming women by using ‘Cis’! What’s sauce for the Goose is sauce for the Gander... I will be fighting this.

A Cis resister.
