Oh no this is terrible, i thought puberty blockers had been banned? How can the nhs be doing this? how can this be happening to children in 21st century britain?

How are we meant to respond to this? do what? at a loss and really upset. People f-ing pretending this is best practice?! Shame on them. Medicating children like its in the child’s best interest!!! Using children to prop up their false f-ing god.

They double down sacrificing the health of children to keep this f-ing lie buoyant . How can they sleep at night!. Sorry. This is too much today. And after the joy of last weeks GNS, it felt for the first time the end was in sight.

And those fucking men ruining sport again. I’m so ashamed of them. Thanks though JL. We need to know even though its so upsetting. I just can’t believe this is still rolling along and everyone’s seemingly completely un moved by these disgusting violations.

When a society can’t be bothered to analyse the medicalisation of children, that should speak volumes about what we have become. Devoid of compassion and drive to serve children. Shame on this soul less consumer based hedonistic bullshit society. I hate it. Its rotten. All the wealth in this country and people want cars and fucking watches before they want to see sanitation in poorer countries. Its pathetic

The Government needs to find out how this happened when puberty blockers were meant to be blocked. It must be that some clinicians have just been ignoring that decision!!

i can’t cope with this Dusty. I know people who would and do just say… oh well its only 100 kids, far more risk of sexual abuse from a family member or getting stabbed. Like we shouldnt stamp out every form of abuse we come across for some bullshit reason. It should be EASY to ban these drugs and criminalise their use. Why is it not!! Little children lied too repeatedly and no one cares. My fucking mp doesnt care. How can this not be important? sorry i’m just really struggling with all this now. I can’t be passive about this information. I dreamt of the kid in our school last night who’s parents decided that he has the spirit of a girl at pre walking age. So i’m watching this horror play out on a daily basis and it is so upsetting. I have a friend who’s niece has been groomed online presumably- where else do they hear this poison? who is wearing a binder. I have a friends sister whos had a double mastectomy- still struggling with mental health. I know a woman who’s affirmed her daughter’s gender identity at i think 4 and a half. What the fuck do these parents think will happen when these children start to develop into adults? no wonder these children grow to be unhappy people at risk of self harm. Why and how is this ideology not being discredited and openly challenged by the people in charge. What fucking benefit can there be in telling a child they are in the wrong body when theres nothing they can do to change their body other than a series of mutilations. Sorry Dusty. I’m not coping and venting again and theres no point but hearing the blockers aren’t banned has really upset me.

Hi CB

Yes it is very upsetting and sorry to hear about all those very sad cases you know of!

I am hoping that some of the groups are on to the Health Secretary about this. I'm sure Dennis K said Gay Men's Network were sending a letter?

I keep emphasising the importance of the legal cases perhaps above all the detransitioner cases which really could blow this apart.

I recommend the Triggernometry interview with Sall Grover in Australia which is kind of related in that she is trying to knock 'gender' out of their sex discrimination act.

They know. And those clinicians have been.

It's sadly very familiar how it happened - how often are queries raised about individual clinicians and they are allowed to continue in post? For years and often thousands more are harmed despite harm to patients being known and raised. Other clinicians seem powerless to stop it and are sanctioned for raising concerns. We seem to have built systems (especially in healthcare and public services) that are immune to any oversight, let alone change, no matter if that is better for staff and patients. It's benefitting some people and bad actors. Look at any area - take surgery and the number of unnecessary surgeries performed as surgeons are paid for their activity and there seems such poor oversight. It seems fairly obvious that this could happen if you are paid by activity. Or the wrong body parts are operated on - then the responsible authority says 'no harm' was done. I read this just recently - left hip not right hip. There are and should be basic ways to prevent this, yet how does it keep happening? It's beyond sloppy and too many aren't caring about doing the right thing. I often read reports with a horror and my jaw doesn't drop so much now - it is disturbingly common and how things are instinctively covered up sometimes for years until there is enough criminal activity to burst that bubble. Then those responsible 'move on'.

There's too much ego, career pride and too much money invested to stop this. We know it's wrong, regulators and standards bodies know it's wrong, yet on it goes. The rot is very deep. Coroners are highlighting gross failures and still there is an immediate denial with a defensive 'nothing to see here' response.

In the US, big Pharma and its allies, the many clinical practitioners involved, are making millions from this stuff - so they are trying to ramp it up here. We must not go down that route! There are two types of people aren't there - 'what's good for society', and 'what's good for me'. Unhappily, too many of the latter have big voices. The only context in which a man exposes himself to 14 year-old girls - and they're the ones at risk of being labelled "hateful" if they object - is a cult/fundamentalist movement. Likewise if a man plans to rape a child and that man prefers to be addressed in a way which defies reality, yet his preference is respected in court - this is how cults force non-believers to conform.

It's been two and a half years since Maya Forstater won her appeal and clarified that non-belief is a protected characteristic, yet gender ideology carries on bullying its way into public institutions. It's an almost total failure of the political and journalistic sectors.

As bad as things are, had it not been for the few people who took it upon themselves to oppose this vile ideology, things would be even worse.

Free speech is the key to this fight. Once people stop seeing a ‘civil rights’ issue and see beyond the hype to the dark underbelly that is gender ideology, they are usually shocked. The MSM, apart from a couple of exceptions, bear a huge responsibility for the harm that is being done- none of this is widely reported.

By ignoring or colluding in GI they have allowed it to spread its tentacles so tightly, around every institution and business, that it is now proving incredibly difficult to destroy. The NHS is especially culpable. If any organisation should believe in biology it should the NHS and the stats on puberty blockers are shameful.

What is so odd is the confusion of what it means and its limits. The whole shouting fire in a crowded theatre principle and what your motivations are. It's hard not to tie it directly to the attention and clicks motivation of large tech companies - the most outrageous responses and actions get the most response. That's percolated down into real life exchanges. Thinking it's some human right (another term few seem to understand either) to scream insults at someone. To intimidate them as you are 'on the right side of history'. Or it's a human right to get your own way. Maybe being online really did totally alter the way we humans interact so we are impaired in our ability to learn, to consider, to speak (not shout) and to listen. To genuinely interact, not in tiny bubbles. Then think some more and come to a different or changed point of view. Or not and not be bullied into changing it. We 'choose' our interactions, have less shared experience in real life and many can't bear anything that doesn't totally align with whatever thought popped in our head on a whim. We must adhere to every tenet of the new ideology. How the police are trotting off to arrest people - usually women posting unremarkable things online is also chilling. We are interacting with those who aren't that bright and who have totally swallowed some bizarre training from the gender brigade as they abuse their power.

I remember learning about the switching off (or on) of connectivity in one particular area so that rumours and dissent couldn't spread as a minority were being targeted and groups were going out to attack them. To stop a massacre, huge movements of people and the debates over if and when they should. The power to control thousands of people going out to kill was chilling. We've since seen exactly that happening again and all over - all generated and coordinated online. Riots are started. By people who are 'protesting' but don't seem to have any grasp of the cause they are doing it for. Many seem to go out to scream and threaten women and this is an accepted and reasonable action in the name of 'trans rights'. No one can explain why, or what they are hoping to achieve. It’s an outlet for anger and hate dressed up as peace and love. But the way we challenge this is also now online. All mediated by these platforms.

Seeing the thousands recently going out to wave flags, chant, and hold placards then being interviewed about recent issues and not knowing anything or why they were there. Then doubting everything the interviewer said as they ‘hadn’t seen it on their feed’ or 'it's not what I was told'. Seeing doubt cross their faces as they realised maybe they were there under a false pretence. I asked one person where their ‘feed’ was from and they said ‘I dunno it’s just on my phone’. So they had no idea if it was a filtered digest or from what ‘news sources’ and got upset that I was ‘challenging’ (asking) them about it.

It’s terrifying, we are in 1984 territory and so few people seem to be bothered. Arty in the latest Mess really hit home by saying he was lonely, he’d lost all his friends. Why should this happen to such a lovely person? Why are so few able to think critically and stop following the crowd? I spend my days thinking why is this happening and why are so many women going along with it? Im sure we all feel isolated by it all which is why these substacks are lifesavers.

Glasgow wWomens Library has completedly lost the plot. It supports more transwomen's events than women's events. Several friends have tried to book the library for events and have been told if they are not inclusive of transwomen - or as we know, natal. men- they wont get the booking. These were a, series of events for female survivors of male violence! Having been at the inception event of the Library, my friends and I find we can no longer support the organisation due to its stance.

They've been very clever in picking on places that have previously been enlightened and against other external forces - often working class places with a strong identity and industry. Places with heritage and traditions of education and enlightenment. And places where Women's rights were born, cherished and fought for. They targeted these specifically Women's places. They've twisted what made Glasgow what it was - trans ideology flourished in these places. It's little groups of unhinged men. Yet they still think they're sticking it to the man and it's somehow 'left' leaning. They all seem to think they are able to hate 'Westminster' and 'the Establishment' and 'England' by doing it. It's totally corrupt.

Expand full comment

Except none of those on the Board who decide the policies are on the Left. In fact, they dont see themselves as political at all. "Politics is a dirty word" said one Board member who should know better. What they do see them a lves as is "kind, inclusive and supportive" whereas we see them as "bullying, exclusive and demeaning"! But ee are the oroblem and the barrier to transwomen accessing the women's they deserve. Too right. We fought for them and no natal man is going to walk in and walk over us to take what is ours, no matter what this weak, kily-livered group of natal women might think. It will be their downfall in the end as women provide most of their unrestricted funds and we are withdrawing that support.

Expand full comment

Wow, what a clearly very political thing to say! That's why I put that in quote marks - political leanings seem to mean very little now as so many pretend to adopt beliefs which they clearly do not live, like wanting equality. The level of self-delusion is astonishing. This is like when people choose to not make a decision, which in itself is making a decision, yet seems to have a cloak of deniability over it. It's absolving themselves and letting others take those decisions. These nasty, undermining people are excluding women by their insane focus on men and what men think of themselves. Keep your head up :-)

We have a similar problem in a number of Scottish Womens Aid orgs. It all started when they became charitable orgs with Boards rather than womens cooperatives. A cohort of about 12 women got themselves on multiple Women's Aid Boarss and have directed policy decisi8ns towards the inclusion of "all women" inc transwomen. When staff whistle blow re safeguarding risks, they are susoended and if members of a trade union, are now being sacked. The Scotyish Gvt needs to be held accountable because of their self id legislation. I never thought I would say this, but it is time for the red tops to take this issue to the general public as nobody else seems to want to.

Yes, it seems any organisation - a library, a museum, shelter or support service. A Woman's Studies department in a University. A medical school. A maternity service. As long as and because its focus is women. It's really odd how it's happened in Wales too - and what you say about these relatively small groups of women and cliques who take over. It's all in the archives here for those who care to look. It spreads through the 'Women' and 'Charity' sectors so it's a double blow when they attack both. And yes, thank you, this trade union aspect infuriates me. It's clearly a very successful campaign to get rid of all dissenting voices. When it's happening with every organisation in a relatively small geographical area it's clearly connected and the spread of this ideology. A few people on a lot of 'boards'. I wonder if because these services were seen as serving 'marginal' populations that no one has much cared what's been happening (yes, it feels weird to write that women are marginal but if something is labelled a 'Women's issue' it is famously sidelined as a special interest).

Agree about the red tops. It's weird how I can rely on The Telegraph and Times more for their coverage that almost any other paper. Kathleen Stock's writing for the Telegraph is brilliant and she is showing other journalists how to do it. I have always been pragmatic about my politics and needed to work people from all sides to achieve things but some parties are totally corrupted by this and still the general public seems unaware unless they've been personally sidelined or bullied and lost jobs and roles because of them. I hold my nose to read the comments under Telegraph articles - they used to be 'women, you brought this on yourselves' but there seems a lot more awareness now of the damage this is doing to us all. And the issue we've discussed here on how we defund the zealots without affecting the women who need support. Mridul seems to be quiet of late but he's still in post after lying to get there. All the attention seemed to be on Nicola and Adam and who is housed where in prisons so other genderologists aren't under the same scrutiny.

Thinking of how to stop this - it's hard to explain to others that it's women doing this to women and the totally underhand and nefarious ways they've gone about it.

That was a depressing read (but thank you anyway JL).

What is the NHS playing at? What is it going to take to stop them?

I can see how the puberty blockers increase has happened; the GIDS waiting list was closed to new entrants but they have carried on treating those who were already 'in the system'. The endocrinologists all seem to be totally in thrall to the trans cult and have obviously just continued to dole out PBs to any child referred to them.

Re the gender data collection, apparently we're all to be labelled cisgender by default in the new NHS patient records system.

Re gender data collection - I was watching a TV programme about police and it was interesting to see a fly-on-the-wall aspect of my local area. They showed a police control room and it panned over computer screens as an event was happening and I was disturbed to see a male perpetrator, with an obviously male mug shot, that anyone observing him can all see is male, listed as a 'self-identified male'. Just WTAF? This was an unhinged man with a gun shooting at people. It's distracting and time-consuming to input all these totally pointless created layers of 'data'. And it's meaningless 'data'. Why don't they list favourite colour or ice-cream flavour? All these pointless appeals for missing girls who are boys and boys who are girls. Men who kill women yet this is described as the exact opposite. We are confusing actual identifiers and characteristics for 'self-identified' anything. How is society able to function where fact and reality are lost, everything is just an opinion and we share nothing - no shared experience, understanding or perception. Truth is totally lost. How can we relate to each other with all this continual lying? It's lying and I am sick of it.

I spoke to a local officer who can't do anything about actual crime and kept saying I agree but there's nothing I can do. He seemed ashamed. They can't arrest someone they know committed a crime as they couldn't 'identify' them yet also admitted we all know who it is and they are known to them. So they are allowed to just carry on. Trust in policing is affected and apparently no one can do a thing to stop this? How dispiriting is that?

Expand full comment

It's like a relentless slow motion tsunami rolling over and destroying everything.

And you're right - you can't have a society that doesn't agree what constitutes truth and reality, that doesn't have a common language, that doesn't share values, morals and taboos.

I think most of us here know this instinctively - we don't need the evidence or to know who's behind it all - we can almost smell the danger in the air.and can see the rot creeping in everywhere we look.

How did we get to this in such a short space of time?

There is a battle royal going on between the remaining "clinical specialists" who are blinkered obdurate campaigners in all but name, and more moderate forces who are trying to get hold of the NHS budgets to cut down the funding. GIDS is a "specialised service" which is funded at national (NHSE) Board level by a Committee of medical activists. The problem is defunding it while "GID" services are legally still "to be offered".... but where?? I am regularly and directly exposed to the sharp edge of these "ideological-base-camps" (for want of a better expression) that deify the drive for the erasure of sense, science and safety.

Recently, I've heard stories designed to elicit sympathy for the trans-person involved in a tricky toilet-based scenario - but at the complete and utter expense of the many women in that same scenario, irrespective of their own life-experiences.

I've seen trans-persons(s) applauded to standing ovation for their "heroic efforts" in "championing diversity" (...by stating they've changed gender?!), while people who actually make a tangible difference to hundreds of lives get a cursory "ten-claps-then-done" at the same event.

And I'm there going..."hang on a minute...." But say nothing.

Which is why I have so much respect for all the wonderful people here who have loudly gone "nope, nope, and again nope". Sometimes, (e.g. GL) the consequences for talking sense have been brutal, but those folk have battled on, with demonstrably more respect for the "other side" than most of the "other side" fucking deserves...

Sigh.
