A statement from 'Layla' Stokes says more than it means to
Male mental illness is not a problem to shunt onto women.
Layla Stokes, the trans activist who allegedly told the police that glass and pins were found behind feminist stickers, has written an article that he hopes will clarify a few matters.
While it’s mainly about his Twitter thread concerning the possible rape of an ex partner (which we’ll come to shortly), Layla also reveals new information about both the sticker allegations and the trans activist with whom he was in Newport.
Of particular interest is his statement that he never actually found sharp objects behind the feminist stickers. Moreover, he reveals that he did not report those allegations to the police and even says that Gwent Police “should be ashamed' of their treatment of Jenni Swayne.
On Katie, the trans activist with whom he was working to deface Jenni’s stickers and who has since highlighted and denied accusations of paedophilia, he says he only met him the day before and was not aware of any of those allegations.
“I do not know if those are true, but I sincerely hope they are not, as they are very serious, alluding to some of the worst crimes a person can commit.”
On the rape allegations, Layla states that at the time he wrote what he admits were ‘confusingly worded’ tweets, he was under stress, had been hallucinating and self-medicating with drugs he had ‘obtained illicitly’ but can now ‘say with absolute certainty that it never happened’ and says the police have confirmed that nothing has been reported to them.
On his claim that someone had died of old age before he could apologise to them, he reveals he was given the power of attorney over a relative who was dying of Alzheimer’s disease and ‘should have stopped’ a scammer stealing £12,000 from her.
Layla is clearly a deeply disturbed young man and his state of confusion is probably heightened by the BBC giving credence to his claim that he found razor blades behind posters last year, and society telling him he really is a woman.
Let’s assume it’s true that he neither found glass nor pins behind women’s rights stickers, and he had nothing to do with those reports which the police say they acted upon. This means there must be at least two trans activists in the Newport area who have both made absurd reports to the police in recent weeks that they have found sharp objects behind posters or stickers they were trying to remove or deface.
It’s time for Gwent Police to specifically reveal what evidence they were acting upon and why.
How much of that is true even? Let’s leave to mental health services and the police. Too many not doing jobs they are paid to do by us. This ideology has caused so much damage and it has encouraged so much laziness and silly thinking by people who should know better. Thank goodness for women saying no! Posy is working hard in Newport - fantastic clear talking about the problem. Hope the police are embarrassed
The mental illnesses isn't anything one would likely lie about. Sounds like proper treatment would become him better than trans activism.
I'm not saying this to be mean and certainly don't feel any schadenfreude, no matter what he has or has not done. I think we can take his case as a clear example of how dangerous trans ideology is for people with preexisting mental conditions and each case leaves me feeling sorry and ashamed of how rich societies fail young people with mental health problems.
That being said, the ideology as a whole can not and must not be excused with mental health issues. Many activists clearly know what they are doing and so do those who make a living off it. Mr Stokes and many others whom they claim to represent and support are their victims, as well as women and girls.
