Hello. Just a quick note following on from Graham’s piece on Friday about that disgusting article in The Metro. Can I please ask everyone who feels able to complain to The Metro (all the contact details you need are here) and to IPSO, the Independent Press Standards Organisation (
On it now, JL. Will be mentioning Evie Asmati's axe attacks after a failed Tinder wannabe lesbian date. These guys are not just guys - they're homicidally dangerous guys. And I joined & unjoined (+ refund) "Her" bc cox in frox.
Thanks so much for bringing this up and suggesting! The opportunity would have gone right over my head, and I do feel it important to take a stand here. Graham has stood by us and I most certainly will stand by him. I have written to both Metro and IPSO. Cribbed from your text and added in the Editor's Code details, which they breached (under Accuracy, points 1, 2 and 4). And just, you know, to be absolutely clear, in reference to that reporter's silly claim about Graham having "shared screenshots of transgender lesbians and bisexual women," I felt compelled to spell out the following: "One cannot be a 'lesbian' and a biological male. Mr Linehan was correct in identifying biological males as 'not lesbians.'"
I received a reply from IPSO to our complaints, saying they were not going to follow up for several reasons. I fully intend to pursue this. Do you or does anyone have any suggestions about how to do so? Among the reasons given are: "The alleged inaccuracy related directly to Graham Linehan. In order to make a decision on whether the Code was breached, it appears IPSO may need to make findings on Mr Linehan’s intention when posting the information; if he considers himself to have been misrepresented and, if so, how; and whether he was approached for comment. To do this, we would require the involvement of an individual with first-hand knowledge of him; complainants did not appear to be in a position to provide this information. In addition, any ruling by IPSO on this matter would result in the publication of information about Mr Linehan, which might not be appropriate without his consent. In these circumstances, we considered that it would not be appropriate to investigate and publicly rule on these complaint without the consent and input of Mr Linehan. Because of this, we declined to consider these complaints further. For clarity, this does not affect the ability of Mr Linehan to make a complaint on this point."

Also done! I wrote to webnews@metro.co.uk on 23rd Feb. No reply, of course. I have done both the three editors at Metro and IPSO.
Done both. Thanks for the text which I used.

I did complain to The Metro at the time but happy to follow up to Ipso after work.
