CursedE was also a primary quoted source for Yahoo!'s coverage of the Maya Forstater verdict this week (identified as "transgender journalist Gemma Stone) - I told the writer/Sr. Editor Beth Greenfield, who wrote this piece, about his history of misogyny and she blocked me. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/woman-who-lost-her-job-but-gained-jk-rowlings-support-over-trans-tweets-wins-appeal-180435503.html

There's a story in the Guardian about two South Korean soldiers getting prosecuted for consensual gay sex. Then glommed onto the story is a South Korean TiM who had " gender confirmation surgery"

So, it's not reassignment now? Moving the linguistic goalposts again are we?

Another helpful collection of what’s in the news. I didn’t gel with the description of the girl in the last video as “attention-seeking” though.

I mean, sure, in one sense she is speaking with a loud-hailer, so that’s a demand for attention. But I sensed a real vulnerability there. My main reaction in this case (unlike when I watch some videos, mainly of trans-identified males) was to feel concerned and protective of this girl. It takes us time to realise how easily we can be fooled into thinking our friends have our best interests at heart, when, in fact, they’re just playing a role.

I didn't actually properly clock that as a diss. I thought of "attention-seeking" merely as away of saying "a lot of teenage girls are attention-seeking". that's the problem with this movement. It particularly targets those kids of girls. I guess that's why it has spread among teenage girls faster than Covid

I agree. Here was the ever-wise detransitioner Helena's take:

it’s easy to make fun of this young girl, because look, she’s so delusional! she thinks dying her hair makes her a boy! ha ha!

but what you’re really watching is a young vulnerable person being psychologically abused by and inducted into a destructive ideological group.

this is so manipulative, but unfortunately it’s super common. and then when this love bombing and cult manipulation leads you to make choices that devastate your life they’ll tell you it was all your decision and you should have known better.

these experiences are overwhelmingly gratifying to kids who have probably spend a lot of time being rejected, bullied, and ignored at home and by peers. it’s textbook love bombing.

I know it's all kinds of wrong to say this these days... but those thighs are so female. Sorry. Then that voice. She may as well have said, 'I'm a double-decker bus and my pronouns are it and they. I drink diesel for breakfast. Let me park here'. So much delusion going on.

Quite it’s all about distraction. These kids are just collateral damage from the real issues being unaddressed and wasting time and space.

"Women are more likely than men to be accepting of trans people"

As an "actual woman" it's surprising that Ash doesn't mention women are less likely to think popping on some lippy actually makes you trans.

Last years YouGov poll for PinkNews showed that the paltry number of people of either sex that support Self ID is (of course) lowest among women:

A person should have to obtain a doctors note to change their legal gender

Women who disagree: 14%

Men who disagree: 17%

Someone who works at SOAS just sent me this. They fail to mention women as key stakeholders, as usual. But then, as he said, "Nobody identifies as a woman at SOAS."

I check out #LeaveStonewall from time to time and it looks like the Cooperative Bank aren't on the scheme but apparently they used to be. Is that right? https://twitter.com/levipay/status/1403313769376276484/photo/1
