Women saying no is not 'abuse'

Quite rightly, women were furious that a trans-identified male, Munroe Bergdorf, was asked to host an event on International Women’s Day. This sudden burst of anger took everyone by surprise, given how previous male-centred IWDs passed off without a hitch. Women are fully awake to this nonsense now, and it’s making all the right people uncomfortable.

Stonewall, always quick to the scene when a male’s feelings have been hurt, sent out a message of solidarity.

"How about a woman has centre stage on International Women’s Day?” is not an abusive question, but when you’re used to everything going your way, I guess it must feel like that.

As to Twitter not being a safe app for transgender people, let’s see how safe it is for women. Be warned, it doesn’t make for pleasant reading.

To take a couple of examples at random, here’s ‘Cathy Brennan’ being very gender-nonconforming for a woman, but highly gender-conforming for a man, as he talks about violently attacking lesbians who were protesting gender identity ideology at Pride.

‘Cathy’ achieved a certain level of fame for attacking lesbian Julie Bindel while shouting ‘terf cunt’ in her face. Women know that this is the kind of abuse that can and does leak off the Internet and into real life. So the violent language you see all through the document, even when aimed at an individual, as it so often is, is designed to intimidate every woman who might try to add her voice.

(Sidenote: I’m pretty sure Jan Gooding and Stonewall didn’t release any statements in support of Bindel at that time. But then, we know how Stonewall feels about lesbians.)

There is nothing more gender-conforming than the abuse handed out to women from these men. It is as old as the hills.

Anyway, you get the idea. Any time you see a flounce from one of these entitled, coddled drama queens, remember the violent abuse that actual women face when they dare make statements on this matter. Don’t waste your sympathy on Bergdorf, whose gravy train has a few stops to go yet.
