I didn’t feel quite the same way about the racial aspect (I think cartoonists need to be given some license, especially when under pressure to represent diversity in EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF CONTENT), but this is a great letter to the new Director General of The BBC about the hugely problematic, creepy, groomerific Bitesize ‘Pronouns Day’ feature.
If I had written it, I would have said that they are headed to a scandal of Saville-level proportions if they don’t quickly allow the debate that concerned feminists, parents and gay people have been trying to have for years. But then, that’s why she’s the Baroness and I’m Captain Funnymanwhosuddenlyisntfunny.
Anyway, The Baroness’s charity is the Amar Foundation, which campaigns for displaced Yazidi people in refugee camps, and if you ever want to thank her for bringing her fearsome letterhead to the fight, then this is the place to do it.
(UPDATE: Here is a more legible version for people who have asked for it!
Trying to get the text now so I can copy and paste for people who are saying they can't read it!
Perfectly pitched compassionate letter.
