That’s the thing about propaganda. The more absurd its claims—the more obviously those claims offend reality—the more power the propagandists demonstrate by insisting on their lies and pressuring others to go along.
The point isn't to convince but to dominate and intimidate those who can be dominated and intimidated. The point is to weed out dissent, the dissenters being anyone who won't go along with obvious lies.
What better way to sort the compliant from the mutinous than to invent and insist on an absurdity like "transwomen are women," an idea no sane person held until roughly five minutes ago?
Every person on earth has evidence at their fingertips—evidence in the very fact of their existence—that this claim is at best meaningless (that is, requiring the word 'woman' to mean nothing) and in every other sense, ludicrous. No one needs to phone a friend or survey the experts.
To insist “transwomen are women” anyway, pushing individuals and institutions who know better (and they all know better, deep down) to preach absurdities on command, is quite the show of power.
A claim like ‘transwomen are women’ has nothing to do with acceptance. Acceptance means recognizing and making space, not embracing fabrications and stealing rights.
“Transwomen are women” is about the submission of reality to ideology.
