Joanne Harris, exposed
Harris once again proves she is not a fit chair of the Society of Authors
@Joannechocolat Is Quarmby lying? Did she ask @Soc_of_Authors to condemn the death threats against JKR? Did @Soc_of_Authors issue any statement condemning the death threats of JKR? What’s the point of a ‘policy’ if, when death threats occur, you choose not to even comment, never mind condemn?
@Joannechocolat @Soc_of_Authors So Quarmby isn’t lying. The scale of what JKR has been subjected to did warrant comment & condemnation. Policy or not, on a human level, silence when someone is subjected to death & rape thread on the scale JKR has received is cowardice. Making that your stance leaves other/
@Joannechocolat @Soc_of_Authors authors who receive similar, but on a smaller scale, exposed & unsupported too. It’s bizarrely cold & callous. Any authors who are left to deal with that, without support, must feel terribly isolated & alone. I can’t fathom it. It’s nonsensical.
We too asked Joanne Harris to sign this petition of support for JK Rowling and she refused. To echo Kathryn, what is the Society of Authors for, if not for defending one of the UK’s biggest authors from credible and consistent threats? We need to get these gender-giddy fashionistas out of such influential and consequential positions.
Joanne Harris betrays all women, along with her craft, when she can’t bring herself to defend a feminist author, a survivor of domestic abuse, for bravely standing up for women in the face of violent pushback.
She should resign.
Joanne Harris gives herself completely away with her oh-so -'genderist'-protecting-biased choice of the word 'democratic'. Calling out death and rapes threats is not 'democratic'? God forbid we should 'alienate' a vile creep. What does Dante say? That quotation so loved by JFK? '“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.” She's not fit for purpose as chair of the "Royal Society of Authors'. Or much else for that matter. Gender ideology presents a great ethical challenge to many, and many are failing badly.
I think a lot of these people would benefit from watching or reading The Crucible, a film about how mass hysteria caused people to turn on each other in order to detract from any sins they might have committed themselves, terf is the new witch.
