If it is indeed W*ts*n at the root of your latest trouble, then join the ****ing club.

I now think that it would be easier to list the people he is NOT going after with his various tactics of reporting, complaining, harassing, stalking and even attempting to bring about Judicial Reviews with various police forces and courts. IT IS MY OPINION (as we are supposed to say these days) he is now beyond being an irritating nuisance to being a genuine potential danger to others' well-being and freedom.

Vexatious litigation is supposedly illegal

Cait's avatar

Initially, I read "W*ts*n" as "wankerati".

That's close enough...

Does anyone know time and court no for G’s trial this Thursday/Friday at Westminster Magistrates Court?

Alan Henness's avatar

For some reason, it's not listed yet (login required): CourtServe - View Magistrates Court List

https://www.courtserve.net/courtlists/viewcourtlist2014.php?courtlist=mgwestm_P250904.02.htm&type=maglists

LouDonnoodles's avatar

Just checked Courtserve again for Thurs and Fri. Still can’t see it listed. Is it closed to the public? Or listed under another name, not Linehan?

LouDonnoodles's avatar

I signed up for courtserve too but couldn’t see it listed either. I’ll try again tomorrow.

I received this from a GC group. “ Please come to support Graham Linehan tomorrow Thursday 4th and Friday 5th outside Westminster Magistrates Court, 181 Marylebone Rd, London NW1 5BR, from 9.30am. Sharron Davies will be there around lunchtime tomorrow. Please forward to anyone who may like to come”

Lynsay Watson (aka Alex Horwood) has also pursued Harry Miller (Fair Cop) and Stuart Campbell (Wings Over Scotland). I'm only surprised he hasn't gone after JKR. Yet.

Here is Stuart's piece on the court case....

FFS sake Graham. I’m alternating between feeling so sorry that this is still happening to such a good man as you, ashamed at our authorities and govt. combined with utter rage and fury at what has happened to our police and this country. This is insane and I’m at the stage where I think Trump should consider accepting all of us as refugees. Keep well, keep calm and don’t let them grind you down. You are right, you have the moral high ground. 💪🏻

I’ve just listened to the 5Live phone-in where almost everyone agreed that sending five police to make the arrest was overkill.

The argument was mostly about whether “punch him in the balls” was an incitement to violence. Even those supporting Graham said it was a bad joke, defending it as a response in kind to the everyday threats of violence from trans activists. I disagree. I think it’s a very good joke, which not only mirrors the threats from TRAs, but also points out that most of the men claiming they are women still have male genitalia. It’s a damning and clever attack on self-identifying and the claim that trans women are women.

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

I agree. It also illustrated very cleverly the size difference between men and women. He didn’t say kick him in the balls.

Terri's avatar

Indeed, I think the phrasing was rather inelegant - perhaps “a swift kick to the bollocks” would have scanned better. (note to the overlords: I’m repeating a stock phrase the origin of which I cannot remember- and it was a joke.)

Marie's avatar

I would never go so far as to think Trump was a better alternative despite his ‘rulings’

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

Im assuming you aren’t in the UK with its thousands of recordings of non crime hate incidents, political arrests and imprisonments for tweets etc. We’ve just had a woman arrested for flying the flag from a local council building.

But it was a tongue in cheek comment designed to illustrate just how bad things are here.

Terri's avatar

"We’ve just had a woman arrested for flying the flag from a local council building." What???? Absolutely effing mad - any other country I've been too it's perfectly normal to fly the country's flag on official buildings!

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

Yep! She was bundled to the ground by about three male officers and taken away. Tousi TV has it on film.

Terri's avatar

I've just found it - unbelievable! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOCG59ZCKw-/ it's surreal - like a Monty Python episode. We should have the battle of the Union Jack decorated soft cushions - that would be something! This is taxpayer's money. In Parliament I saw Jess Philips ignore a question about a 15 year old rape gang victim who had been married to her abuser in an Islamic ceremony WITH HER SOCIAL WORKER AS A GUEST and then the parents of her abuser "fostering" her. Real crimes, ignored in the British Parliament - but flags...

Tenaciously Terfin's avatar

There are myriad stories of vile abuse and there should be people in prison for the cover ups. Labour is up to its neck in it and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to have an inquiry. I still don’t trust them not to rig it their way. Look out Raja Miah on YouTube.

I am in the uk and support Graham

Giulia Hunt's avatar

Not yet maybe..give it time

Patsy Millar's avatar

Bloody hell! Hopefully the health problems will have settled somewhat by now and sending you best wishes.

Sarah Martin's avatar

I'm just staggered at the awfulness of this arrest. It is really frightening. Please take care of yourself.

Annie McDowall's avatar

Absolutely sickening. At least the police were decent, but you never should have been put through this. What has happened to our country??

Ginny's avatar

Imagine if enough cops refused the task? "Just doing my job" didn't cut it at Nuremberg!

Sarah Phillimore's avatar

I hope you can sue for unlawful arrest and detention. This is appalling. But hopefully indicates how scared they are.

Suzanne H's avatar

That was my first thought too.

Rebecca in SF's avatar

Unfortunately it is entirely lawful - that's how broken the laws are in the UK right now.

Siân Webster's avatar

I am so sorry Graham! I think you are a marvellous man who has done so much good and you do not deserve all this crap and stress. I hope your blood pressure soon recovers and that the worst is over. You are one of the brave ones. Thank you and good luck !

Jenny Nabben's avatar

Sending love Graham - I'm so angry I can't really find words. We are living in mad times indeed. I hope you sleep well and I'm glad you have so many supporters there.

Issy's avatar

OMG big man, what a horrible state of affairs we’re mired in now in the UK. I wish I could come and support you at court, there in spirit x.

SazzleDazzle's avatar

What the hell did I just read? Shameful.

MrClingclong's avatar

Bloody Hell Graham! This is effin ridiculous. The cops (I know, following orders) are caught by this shite. The next election can't come soon enough, get rid of these low IQ incubus' (incubi?).

Anyway, Graham, if you are ever in Cornwall, let me buy you a big pasty and a pint of Tribute ale. Doctors tell me it's excellent for high blood pressure. I'm not sure if they mean it's an excellent way you get it, or an excellent way to combat it. Anyway, they're nice and so is beer.

Dreadful. Begs the question who sanctioned this over reaction by the police.

This is some weird shit. Back in the 90s, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn lived near where I was then in Vermont, just over the mountain. He did some of his best writing here, according to him. I was fascinated by his story and how you could be jailed for years for writing a letter to a friend. You've now crossed over into his territory, my friend. You have some major decisions to make.

How utterly disgraceful. Meanwhile rapists get off scot-free. Someone needs to sort this weirdo ex-copper out. Can't he be arrested for wasting police time or something?

prudance's avatar

I thought vexatious litigation !

Honestly it feels like we're living in a satirical programme these days. Free speech is on life support in the UK.

It's mind boggling how you've gone through all that for three tweets. I've read far worse comments on twitter from the other side of this debate. I wonder if they're getting herded into a cell too. Not bloody likely.

Patrick Young's avatar

Shared++ because we live in a woke police state. Fascists dancing to the tune of men in frocks. You, Sir are an inspiration. Do not be intimidated. Do not give up. The USA should not be facilitating the abuse of free speech by reporting you to UK Po's. Someone please notify Elon Musk, Donald Trump and his Vice President of this blatant, political attack on free speech because we absolutely need Americans to be involved in this fight against our authoritarian, Fascist Govt. Fascism is the spawn of the Left, not the Right. It is a cancer.
