So how do we know Judith Butler is a clueless, cynical opportunist? Well, here’s a funny thing.

Paint me confused, since Judith Butler has *also* just signed the recently-published rebuttal letter (…erningbristoluniversity.wordpress.com). Seems to me like holding opposing views at the same time views is unscholarly, but I guess there's still much I don't understand about postmodernism.

I didn’t get it at first, but basically what happened was this.

This guy called Jewish students on his campus “pawns” of Israel, “a violent, racist, foreign regime engaged in ethnic cleansing.”

200 academics from the United Kingdom and the United States signed a petition defending him.

There's also an opposing petition saying "we, the undersigned, wholly condemn recent statements by Prof. David Miller..."

Judith Butler signed both.
