God, all this (the above) is so depressing. I have no hope for the human race. It's not just this issue and every single issue regarding women, but the climate crisis, economics, militarism, imperialism, weapons production, weapons in space, nuclear testing, treaties, policing, prison policy, agricultural policy, food and animal production, pandemic relief, etc., etc.
Regarding your latest "The Mess We're In," which I viewed today, Arty commented that if only we could talk about the sexual habits of the transvestites and achieve acceptance of those acts, then we could allow these men to dress and act as if they are women without jeopardizing women's and girls' rights, the problem would be solvable. These were not his exact words but I think that was the gist of it. I can't believe this could ever happen. We are not allowed to question men's rights, their entitlement, their acts. Nor do I believe that is what these men want. These men (or most of them anyway) are too wedded to their obsession that they are actually women and must be accepted as women. They are asking for validation that would admit them to the female sex class. I suppose you could argue that gay male sex, even those acts that are truly harmful, has been accepted. And certainly there has been no condemnation of heterosexual sex acts that are dangerous and harmful either. And there has been acceptance of prostitution and pornography forever. All of these acts are defined by males, based on male desires and accepted by so-called sex-positive women and feminists/ Lesbian sex isn't really accepted, quite the contrary. Sex by heterosexual women on women's terms is not really accepted either unless it fits into what males want. So I think Arty's idea is naive. However, if it were to be better understood by the general public, especially those that don't know a great deal about this ideology and its effects on women and girls, possibly it could open many eyes to what is really going on. But for that to happen there would have to be a major campaign by gender-critical physicians, and other clinicians about this ideology, and thus far they are not speaking out as a body. In the US, the American Medical Association, charged with disciplining errant members, has not stepped up to the plate. Didn't one or more of you refer to moral blindness in today's video. It's all over. And the media would rather cause discord rather than foster discourse.
Graham, one of the things that has occurred to me about what is happening is that transvestism must be much more common than is realized by most people and this is why so many men are supportive of trans rights: The judge in the Forestater (sp?) decision for instance, what was motivating him? According to Maureen O'Hara in the August 15 feminist Q&A of the Women's Human Rights Campaign/Women's Declaration, the judge went well beyond what he was asked to do in the case. And what are the police in Britain up to in coming down on misgendering, etc., when it isn't against the law in the UK? If not, I am left with the fact that misogyny is truly an insoluble problem, and that thought is extremely depressing.
