Beautiful, stunning, brave
The case of James Wallis shows the incoherence of the trans movement, and the gullibility of its proponents.
It was inevitable - Britain now has its first openly ‘transgender’ MP or, to be more precise, the first MP to say he has been ‘diagnosed’ with gender dysphoria and ‘wants’ to be transgender, whatever that means.
The statement from Jamie Wallis, who has been the Conservative MP for Bridgend since 2019, in which he revealed this, led to a predictable cascade of well-wishing from left-wing politicians and media figures, and perhaps surprisingly, a few on the right as well.
However, it also led to some scrutiny of his past, which has resulted in many concluding that it would be difficult to find someone less fit to be a member of parliament.
Firstly - in the statement itself, Wallis, who in late 2019 revealed he is a married man with two young daughters, said that just a few weeks later someone tried to blackmail him over ‘photographs’, which resulted in this person being sent to jail for nearly three years. He also disclosed that in 2021 he “hooked up” with a man he met online, who he claims raped him after Wallis only consented to protected sex with him, and suggested that this led to him developing PTSD, which he claimed is why, later that year, he fled the scene of a car crash.
That crash involved him driving so fast into a telegraph pole that he broke it at its base, ensuring local villagers were without electricity for several days. He was later fined and given points on his licence, although questions are now being asked about the leniency of the punishment given that his fleeing the scene meant he was not immediately breathalysed.
Arguably worse than this is his career before he entered politics. Perhaps because Bridgend is a typically safe Labour seat, he wasn’t vetted properly, but his past should have disbarred him from entering office.
Just days after he was elected he was asked questions about his links to the website Sugar-Daddy.net, which offered to introduce financially struggling ‘boys and girls’ to older wealthy men, to fund their lifestyles seemingly in exchange for sex.
The website, described as “exploitative" by one MP, was owned and operated by a company named SD Billing Services. When asked about his involvement with this company, Wallis issued the statement: “I have never had a financial interest, nor been a director of SD Billing Services and cannot comment on its operational activities.” However, the sole shareholder of SD Billing Services was Fields Group - a company that had Wallis as director until recently.
And this was just one story that came about via scrutiny of his career history in January 2020. A blog has been running since 2017 highlighting some of the scams that Wallis’s companies have allegedly been involved in, and in 2020 Bridgend Council said there had been more than 800 complaints to trading standards about his businesses, along with 20 enforcement visits.
Around the same time, Wallis resigned as a director of at least seven companies, including Quickie Divorce, Fields Associates, Rapid Data Recovery, Fields Data Recovery, Fields Group, Fields Holdings and Digzoo.
In addition, another of his companies, Action Direct UK, was banned from taking on new clients by the Ministry of Justice, following an investigation carried out by the Claims Management Regulator.
This led to calls for the whip to be removed just one month after his election.
A few months later it emerged that the campaign chief Wallis used during that election was a convicted criminal who once threatened to kill his own son. At the trial, the judge even questioned whether the man had lied about being entitled to disability benefit.
Furthermore, Wallis was elected a town councillor in 2017 - only to be removed in 2018 for failing to attend a single meeting.
This all brought him to the attention of Private Eye, which ran a feature on his academic achievements. Wallis claims to have been awarded a PhD by Cardiff University in ‘astrobiology’ in 2014, although his sole credited supervisor left Cardiff University in 2011 and most of the publications he cited in his thesis appear to have been written by his father.
After announcing he’s trans, Wallis then issued a follow-up statement saying he won’t be changing his appearance ‘for the time being’ and will continue to use ‘he / him / his’ pronouns.
This incoherent nonsense has resulted in actual adults writing literal gibberish to describe his identity.
And despite his preferred pronouns being ‘he / him / his’, Twitter has still censored accounts seemingly for using those pronouns.
To sum up: A Tory MP who ran a 'sugar daddy' website to hook financially struggling 'boys and girls' up with wealthy men, and misled the press about it, who has a history of running dodgy companies and associating with violent criminals, and who fled the scene after crashing his car, has now revealed there are dodgy pictures of him in circulation. But none of that matters because he has also come out as transgender. He won't be changing his appearance or pronouns (perhaps because he’s in boy mode for the serious business of politics but will be in girl mode for the fun times), but Big Tech is still censoring people for calling him 'him' and the left, and some of the right, think he's brave and courageous.
He’s not the first MP in the world to declare he’s transgender - in fact just this week a trans-identified male member of the German parliament was chosen to speak at an event highlighting women in politics.
He might, however, be the first case of a sleazy politician using the trans card as a way to distract others from talking about his past.
As one person has stated: It used to be that patriotism was the last refuge of the scoundrel. Now it’s gender dysphoria.
Could not believe this one. Even the Times comments section (normally quite sensible really) were blithering on about him being brave and living his truth. Eh? It's quite obvious he was drunk driving and has compromising photos knocking around, not to mention years of corruption and sleaze behind him, and some panicking Tory whip has suggested he acquire some trans armour. Being "upset and/or traumatized by one's gender identity" covers all manner of sins, apparently. I feel for his wife and daughters.
Yep, grifters are attracted to the trans card for how it prevents people from challenging them or even investigating them. If you do, you're "transphobic" and can be shut down on that basis alone.
