All eyes on Wales

A disaster for women is brewing. A special report by Pip

When you think of Wales, you might imagine rugged mountains, dragons and rugby legends too many to count. Its national identity is grounded in a proud working class history, evident in the unwavering support enjoyed by Welsh Labour, who have secured the largest vote share in every General and Senedd Election for decades. 

And when it comes to ideological capture, there may be none more taken than Wales. As a fully paid up Stonewall Diversity Champion, the National Assembly for Wales appears in the Stonewall Top 10, listed as “Top Welsh Employer”. Unbeknownst to most of its population, the Welsh government has committed itself to destroying the rights of women and children under the insistence it is promoting ‘trans rights’. The only thing holding it back from fully implementing self ID are the limits of devolution. 

A number of Welsh MPs including Nia Griffith and Christina Rees sit on the APPG on Global LGBT+ Rights, which was recently found to be secretly pushing poor policy into Parliament on behalf of lobbyists. Welsh politicians hold five of its fourteen Vice Chair positions, including former Stonewall Chief Executive, Baroness Ruth Hunt. 

During the recent WESC Committee Hearings, Wales was praised by Stonewall as a prime example of international best practice when it comes to transgender rights and healthcare. If only Stonewall’s endorsement on these matters was a good thing. 

Women don’t deserve to lose their recognition in law, and the right to discuss and defend being a woman in the context of being female; an unavoidable fact for more than 50% of the population, inclusive of trans identifying females. However, the erasure of the rights of human females in law is a primary objective of mainstream trans rights extremists; and they’ve been winning. Given females are the marginalised and oppressed half of the human population, both globally and historically, this is a significant blow to any attempts to achieve equality of the sexes.

The ideological capture of small and devolved nations like Wales is part of a global roll back on women’s rights and recognition. Even CEDAW is now in danger. 

The Welsh government is 100% committed to Stonewall mantras that dictate female erasure in law, whatever the careless consequences, as outlined in their “Statement of Support for Transgender Communities”, released by Jeremy Miles, who was recently appointed Minister for Education:

“We believe trans women are women, trans men are men and non-binary identities are valid.”

In their sexist statement, the Welsh government asserts that sex never matters, even though we all know it does. They flippantly redefine women to placate aggressive gender ideologues. Their investment in sex denialism has already seen the roll out of new gender services in Wales, which oblige local GPs to prescribe hormones, thereby forcing complicity in administering ideologically driven, not evidence-based, irreversible body modification. Young people are especially vulnerable to such treatment, despite recent findings that nearly 88% of children with gender dysphoria will reconcile with their biological sex if allowed to go through puberty without medicalisation. 

Unsurprisingly, Jeremy Miles has been flagged by his constituents for dismissing safeguarding concerns, and showing disregard for parental engagement in the development of Wales’s new RSE curriculum, which is alarming given it has been made mandatory for all Welsh children. The new curriculum is based upon Queer Theory, complete with a rebrand as ‘Relationship and Sexuality Education’. Parents are powerless to protect their children from inappropriate material in school beyond appealing to schools directly.

Rather than update the outdated curriculum so that children and young people are given unbiased, timely, accurate and age appropriate information about their bodies, rights and consent with respect for safeguarding, they face ideological indoctrination from the tender age of just three years old. This ideological push was pioneered by a Cardiff University professor (Emma Renold) who applies Queer Theory to Childhood Studies and led the Welsh Government’s advisory panel, heavily laden with Stonewall Champions. 

The new hijacked curriculum and associated materials developed under her supervision claims sex is a spectrum, intersex is a third sex, gender identity is paramount, and single sex facilities are unfair, amongst an avalanche of gender unicorn inspired propaganda and scientifically illiterate misinformation. 

Stonewall acolyte Jeremy Miles has just announced a new consultation on Wales’s new compulsory RSE curriculum. In its vacuous consultation document. Sex is superseded by gender, which is later defined as ‘gender identity’, and it claims sex is assigned, not observed. The guidance places obligations upon schools to deliver ideologically loaded material, along with a requirement to involve ‘third parties’. Schools, including those with particularly vulnerable and learning disabled children are left wide open to abuse by zealous ideologues. Materials already released in support of this curriculum direct schools to the dubious Mermaids and Proud Trust, with no mention of alternative advisors and trainers like Transgender Trend and Safe Schools Alliance. 

The people of Wales would do well to recognise the corruption of thought by way of ideological mantras before their children come home from school with reckless disregard for their bodily integrity, sexual health and wellbeing while espousing the hypersexualised and sexist language of gender ideology.  

This is a call for help. Welsh children are in danger of compulsory indoctrination in gender ideology from the age of 3 and throughout their school life. Department for Education guidance that stops children from being taught they could be born in the wrong body doesn’t apply in Wales because education is devolved. Gender ideology is unjustifiable in light of child protection safeguarding principles and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, yet the Welsh government, led by Welsh Labour, is hellbent on embedding abusive ideologies at the heart of children’s lives.
