Monday 8th February - Brass Neck Behind Bars
THE TIMES: A trans-identified murderer is taking legal action against the Scottish Prison Service, alleging that he is the victim of transphobia.
In 2004 Daniel Eastwood was serving time in a young offenders institution for dangerous driving. A month before his release date, he strangled a fellow inmate with a shoelace. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to serve a minimum of 15 years.
What this article doesn’t tell us is that, while in prison, Eastwood earned the nickname ‘Hannibal Lecter Jnr’ due to his disturbing behaviour and explosive temper. One prison officer resigned from her job after a frightening encounter with him and he violently attacked another.
Three years ago Eastwood began ‘identifying as a woman’ and started using the name Sophie. He has been accommodated in female-only prison units ever since.
Now 35 Eastwood has served 17 years of his life sentence and believes he should be released. Last year he was denied a move to a less secure prison and failed a psychological assessment. He claims he is being discriminated against because he is trans and is taking legal action against the Scottish Prison Service.
Tuesday 9th February - They Look Pretty Woke But It’s Just Backdated
In 2018 Julie Bindel appeared at an event at a Melbourne bookshop. The event sold out, it was a huge success and the store sold lots of books.
Three years later the same bookshop has tried to cancel Julie Bindel retrospectively.
Readings book store issued the above statement, apologising for inviting Julie Bindel to appear at the store, ‘highlighting’ her work, in 2018.
Later this month Readings are hosting an event with they/them ‘queer’ sci-fi writer, Alison Evans, and trans-identified male, Juno Dawson.
Apparently, stating that “A lot of gay men are gay men as a consolation prize, because they couldn't be women” does not contravene Readings’ policy that “Everyone in our community feels safe, respected and considered”. Nor, it seems, does writing hit pieces full of untruths and hyperbole about one’s fellow authors.
Readings were responding to a diktat from they/them Alison Evans (@_budgie) when they so hastily washed their hands of Julie Bindel.
Evans has now protected ‘their’ tweets but, earlier in the week, ‘they’ posted on Twitter, "I agreed to do this event providing Readings publicly apologise for hosting Julie Bindel. Where is this apology?" And Readings capitulated immediately.
The manager of Readings bookshop, Mark Rubbo, now regrets expressing regret. He said, “Our post was an ill-considered attempt to acknowledge the distress that our event with Julie Bindel may have caused even though it occurred some time ago.” Perhaps he’s realised that caving into the demands of these foot-stamping narcissists just doesn’t work and no amount of grovelling is ever enough.
Wednesday 10th February - Don’t Talk About Sex, Baby
THE MIRROR: Women-erasing language is now the official policy of ‘trans friendly’ Brighton and Sussex Maternity Services Department.
Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust has formally implemented a gender-inclusive language policy for its maternity services department, or “perinatal services department” as it will now be known, in order to be more ‘trans-friendly’.
Staff have been instructed to say “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding”, to say “human milk” instead of “breastmilk” and to replace the term “mother” with “mother or birthing parent”.
Transwoman and science teacher, Debbie Hayton, wrote to The Times: “It is not biological essentialism to say that mothers give birth to children then breastfeed them with mother’s milk. It is essential biology. Such attempts to control language may backfire spectacularly on people like me as the public tires of being told what they are expected to think. If even the facts of life are deemed to be transphobic, then perhaps transphobia has lost all its meaning.”
Thursday 11th February - Erasing Mothers From Maternity Legislation
Moves to divorce women from language concerning pregnancy and childbirth were also being made in Westminster this week.
The government have introduced the Ministerial and Other Maternity Allowances Bill which will allow female ministers to take maternity leave without being required to resign from their posts. All well and good and not before time.
But a bill about maternity provision does not mention the word ‘woman’.

FAIR PLAY FOR WOMEN: The Office for National Statistics has reversed it’s decision to collect clear sex-based data on the forthcoming national census.
The UK’s Chief Statistician, Professor Ian Diamond, had previously indicated that census questions about sex would be based on legal status, not self-identification. However, a government source has now confirmed that people can answer based on documents such as passports and driving licences which do not record legal sex.
Writing in The Telegraph, Dr Jane Clare Jones explained the probable cause of this ONS turnaround.
“The Office for National Statistics, and the National Records of Scotland, have been subject to a process of policy capture by lobby groups claiming to represent the interests of the LGBT community, who advocate that the census’s sex question should collect data on "self-identified sex", or gender identity, rather than on biological sex.
…Addressing the inequalities women face necessitates that we are able to record, describe and analyse how sex impacts women’s life chances. By prioritising the specific interests of LGBT lobbyists, and consistently refusing to heed the concerns of data users and women’s rights campaigners, our census authorities are now in danger of corrupting the data we need to tackle women’s disadvantages, all in the name of ‘equality’”.
You probably won’t be surprised to hear that the Office for National Statistics is one of Stonewall’s ‘Diversity Champions’.
Friday 12th February - Celebrating Males On International Women’s Day
In a tweet since deleted, Women’s Equality Network Wales were advertising their IWD2021 ‘toolkit’ for schools and youth groups.
As Transgender Trend have pointed out, this toolkit seems more about promoting gender identity than it does about tackling sexism or celebrating women.
Their ‘key terms’ on page 4 of the document are a dead giveaway. Sex is described as ‘assigned at birth’ and the concepts of ‘gender identity’ and ‘non-binary’ are discussed way before women get a mention. When word ‘female’ finally appears, it’s trans-identified males who are prioritised in its definition.
Also Today - Stonewall Will Be Held To Account In Court
A court has found sufficient evidence for Allison Bailey to proceed with her legal action against Stonewall.
Allison Bailey is a criminal defence barrister, feminist, lesbian and lifelong campaigner for racial equality and lesbian, gay, and bisexual rights.
Together with other LGB campaigners, she co-founded the LGB Alliance in order to uphold the rights of those same-sex attracted and to challenge Stonewall's all-pervading influence in UK public life. Stonewall retaliated by trying to intimidate her into silence, putting pressure on her employer to remove her from chambers. So Bailey took legal action against them.
A judge has now found that she has “A good arguable case with more than reasonable prospects of success”. The trial will take place at the beginning of June.
Saturday 13th February - Student’s Unsporting Chance In Women’s 5k
Trinity student, Con Óg Ó Laoghaire, entered a 5k women's race, despite being a man. He came second.
Laoghaire wanted to highlight Trinity’s ridiculous gender identity policy and the unfairness of allowing trans-identified males to compete in women’s athletics. So he registered as ‘female’ for the college’s annual race.
“I registered online and clicked a box saying I was female. When I came to collect my race number from the Trinity Sports Centre, the lady there said “So you’re male?” as she went to make an adjustment to her spreadsheet. In a slightly triggered tone I said “No, I am female”, and that solved the matter.”
Also Today - Leave Them Kids Alone
Manchester Libraries hosted a free online event which was all about pronouns and aimed at children.
We have written previously on this site about UK libraries hosting drag queen storytime events for kids and how extremely inappropriate that is. Now it seems our libraries have found a whole new way to indoctrinate children into a regressive and anti-science ideology at the taxpayers’ expense.
The event was described as “A joyous & playful celebration of pronouns in our special LGBT+ History Month story session". It involved a reading from They, She, He, Easy as ABC, a book in which “Inclusive pronouns are learned alongside the alphabet”.
The event is to be repeated on 23rd February. You can find contact details for Manchester Libraries on their website.
Sunday 14th February - The Word Is LESBIAN
Another online literary event which took place this weekend was also drenched in koolaid.
The Charleston Trust arranged an event which involved readings from the love letters written between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West. The readings were performed by actress, Perlie Mackie, as Virginia, and ‘they/them’ trans-identified male, Lauren John Joseph, as Vita.
(For the uninitiated, Lauren John Joseph is a ‘non-binary writer and artist’ who makes YouTube videos sneering at women.)
The Charleston Trust thought the best way to celebrate a beautiful and iconic lesbian relationship was to have a man play one of two female lovers.
Also Today - Just Say You Hate Women
THE DAILY MAIL: Alex Sobel, the Labour & Co-Op MP for Leeds North West and Shadow Minister for Tourism & Heritage, wants to abolish the titles Mr and Mrs and replace them with “Mx”.
That’s the same Alex Sobel who thinks protecting cheap beer is way more important than protecting women.
And the same Alex Sobel who met with Mermaids just a couple of months ago.
See you next week.
Ah. The Charleston Trust... https://twitter.com/zeno001/status/1188207718793957377
What’s it gonny take tae stop this. Someone’s murder!! A don’t doubt for a second that there’s women in prison that could sort that wee bellend out but why should they further fuck up their civil liberties!! Unless they’re forced!!
