Our cup runneth over with good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
AHF Direct Action
Around a dozen awesome women undertook a fabulous mission to place Adult Human Female postcards all over London last week.
The AHF postcard action took place over the weekend of 9th-10th July 2023. Post cards were placed in museums, galleries, libraries, tourist outlets, bookshops and charity shops etc throughout the capital. The women involved in this brilliant action estimate they placed around 2,400 postcards in public places in and around central London. Huge congratulations to all involved!
Say Hello, Wave goodbye…
Nancy Kelly has resigned as the CEO of Stonewall. She’ll be leaving at the end of July.
Do enjoy this farewell Twitter thread courtesy of Dennis Noel Kavanagh.
And this excellent piece in The Critic by James Esses in which he pays tribute to all Nancy has done to discredit gender ideology.
“As I reflect back on Nancy Kelley’s three year tenure at Stonewall, I come to appreciate that her greatest achievement has been waking up wider society to the harms of gender ideology. For that, she will always have my eternal gratitude.”
In similar news, Susie Green is leaving Gender GP.
Only five months ago, Gender GP were ‘beyond excited’ to welcome Susie Green to the team. But she’s off again already.
Trouble at t’mill? Perhaps it’s something to do with the ongoing Daily Mail investigation covered further on…
Tips From The Top
Baroness Falkner, the chair of the UK’s Equality and Human Rights Commission, has advised MPs to clarify the Equality Act 2010 in order to better distinguish between sex and gender.
Baroness Falkner appeared before the women and equalities select committee this week. She told MPs that it was for the government to define biological sex but added, “I think most people would recognise that biological sex is a categorisation which accords with reproductive functions. So a woman is a person whose body is designed to produce eggs and a man is a person whose body is designed to produce sperm”.
She said that the legislation currently lacks precision and requires amendment in order to bring ‘rationalisations, simplifications and clarity’.
Karma Is A TERF
Sarah Jane Baker, the ex-con trans activist who last week addressed London Trans+ Pride by calling for violence against women, has been arrested.
Baker was filmed being arrested on suspicion of inciting violence and he subsequently being taken into custody in handcuffs at 4.50pm on Wednesday 12th July.
According to newspaper reports, Baker has been recalled to prison having broken the conditions of his parole.
Sunlight Is Flooding In #1
21 leading experts in the field of pediatric gender medicine, representing nine different countries, have written to the Wall Street Journal to express their concern over the treatment of youth gender dysphoria in the USA.
“More and more European countries and international professional organizations now recommend psychotherapy rather than hormones & surgeries as the first line of treatment for gender-dysphoric youth… The politicization of transgender healthcare in the US is unfortunate. The way to combat it is for medical societies to align their recommendations with the best available evidence - rather than exaggerating the benefits & minimizing the risks.”
As political scientist, Dr Leo Sapir, explains in his illuminating thread, their letter is significant because, “This is the first time international experts have publicly weighed in on the American debate over ‘gender-affirming care’”.
Sunlight Is Flooding In #2
The Daily Mail ran a 3-part special, exposing Stonewall’s ‘stranglehold’ on UK businesses, public bodies and organisations etc.
The Mail may not be to everyone’s taste but it’s great to see such a damning investigation of Stonewall’s pernicious influence on public life in a major daily newspaper.
A More Civil Service
The Times reported on forthcoming Cabinet Office guidance which will protect free speech and the expression of ‘gender critical’ views within the civil service.
The guidance, due to be published in the autumn, will instruct the Civil Service that free speech must be defended and in particular, “Women must have the right to question or criticise transgender identity without being bullied, harassed or discriminated against in the workplace”.
On Yer Bike
In big news from the sporting world, cycling’s governing body has (finally) banned trans-identified males from competing in female events.
“From now on female [sic] transgender athletes who have transitioned after (male) puberty will be prohibited from participating in women's events… The men’s category will be renamed Men/Open, and any athlete who does not meet the conditions for participation in women's events will be admitted without restriction.”
Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) decided on the ban after an extraordinary meeting of the Management Committee held earlier this month. The subsequent press release makes clear that UCI’s policy has changed because of the burgeoning scientific evidence regarding fairness.
The sporting bodies are now accepting that making women compete against men has been an injustice.
Where’s the apology for all the athletes who have had their careers ruined by men and the sporting bodies that allowed this injustice.
Obviously the trans identifying men cheating women out of their careers won’t apologise because they are the most persecuted people on the planet- boo hoo, but the sporting institutions let this go on and talented elite athletes have literally given up because of the unfairness, and others have had to stand next to men whilst everyone celebrates how f-ing brave he’s been.
Come on dickheads apologise.
I’ve heard some cycling boss apologise to men because they are no longer allowed to cheat women, They don’t need the f-ing apology. The female athletes they damaged do. Wankers.
If you have done something wrong and you want forgiveness you come clean and apologise. Too late for a lot of talented women. The least they can do is say sorry.
On Woman’s Hour, Nancy Kelley was once asked by Emma Barnett to name any transphobic comment J K Rowling has ever made. She was unable to. What an utter cunt.
