Plenty of good news from the gender beat this week and it is my pleasure to present a few of the highlights for your delectation… Enjoy!
Sunak Takes Action Over Scottish Bill
The house of cards that is the Scottish Gender Recognition Reform Bill remained in the news yet again this week.
The Times reported that Prime Minster, Rishi Sunak, and Scotland Secretary, Alister Jack, were poised to take action.
The Herald Scotland also reported on the likelihood of the UK government stepping in to take action.
And then it happened. The decision was made and Alister Jack is going to use a Section 35 order to prevent the bill from being granted royal assent.
No Gender Please, We’re English!
On a similar theme, Women and Equalities Minister, Kemi Badenoch, is planning to update the list of countries from which the UK recognises a GRC.
“I will be updating the list of approved overseas countries and territories to make sure it does not compromise the integrity of the Gender Recognition Act… It should not be possible for a person who would not satisfy the criteria to obtain UK legal gender recognition to use the overseas recognition route to obtain a UK Gender Recognition Certificate.”
I Am With Woman - Hear Me Roar
Campaign group, With Woman, has been successful in halting the roll out of the NHS Maternity Gender Inclusion Programme.
Hundreds of health care professionals made their voices heard in a revolt over the proposed training and thousands of people signed an open letter in protest.
“The NHS has U-turned on controversial transgender plans after a revolt by midwives… Some 300 nurses, midwives and psychologists wrote to Lizzie Streeter, the NHS national LGBT programme manager behind the project, warning it had ‘no evidence base’ and put maternity wards “at risk of ideological capture.
Two days after the letter was sent on Jan 9, NHS England backtracked and told bidders that “the contract has been withdrawn early” while officials launch a review into its evidence base.”
Huge thanks and congratulations to With Woman and all involved in this campaign.
Posie Down Under!
Kellie-Jay Keen is taking her Let Women Speak tour to Australia and New Zealand in March.

Merkin The Right Decision
Police have decided to drop their investigation into Elaine Miller’s so-called ‘flashing’ protest at Holyrood. (Presumably they spotted that she was fully clothed.)
A police spokesperson commented, “Following complaints, an investigation was carried out. However, no criminality was established. There will be no further police action”.
A Sporting Chance
The Telegraph reported that Culture Secretary, Michelle Donelan, is preparing to launch a crackdown on trans-identified males competing in female sports.
Donelan has called senior executives from major national sport governing bodies to a meeting in Whitehall to discuss this issue. She wants to ‘protect the integrity’ of women’s sport and and to ensure that ‘fairness and safety’ take precedence over any other considerations.
A Whitehall source told The Telegraph “In a sporting context, this issue is underpinned by scientific evidence. She [Donelan] is determined and has a plan to tackle it – not only for athletes, but event organisers, fans, and the future integrity of domestic and international sport.”
Thank you...
As soothing balm to ameliorate the erosive effects of the painfully ludicrous drivel that we have had to put up with lately.
Well done to the UK government for sending the SNP and their Green, Labour and LibDem facilitators homeward to think again.
Oh, and while Elaine Millar was showing absolutely nothing in Holyrood, that well-known trans twerp pickle bee/Beth tweeted from the visitors’ gallery, “POV your cis on transdayofvisibility and we’re going to beat you up for it”! Police action? Nope.
