A handful of the good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
Physician Heal Thyself
Health Service staff are demanding the re-instatement of sex specific language in NHS cancer and pregnancy guidance.
1,200 doctors, nurses and healthcare practitioners have written to NHS bosses to condemning the ‘gender neutral’ language being used in NHS literature.
“Removal of sex-based language is discriminatory and could leave the NHS open to legal challenge... We call for the reinstatement of sex-based, respectful communication that meets the healthcare needs of women.”
Sisters Doing It For Themselves
This week saw the launch of a wonderful new organisation by lesbians for lesbians (the actual kind).
The Lesbian Project was set up by Julie Bindel and Professor Kathleen Stock with none other than tennis legend and lesbian pioneer, Martina Navratilova, as its patron.
“The Lesbian Project intends to give voice and influence to women whose stories are too often overlooked. The Lesbian Project works to build a knowledge base about lesbian lives, promote sensible and evidence-based policy, and contribute to building lesbian community in the UK and internationally.”
News From The House
In parliament this week, the redoubtable Miriam Cates MP challenged Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, to make good on his promise and take action over the wholly inappropriate and inaccurate RSHE lessons being taught in schools.
She drew attention to the promotion of gender woo in the schoolroom, stating that lessons are “Often using resources from unregulated organisations that are actively campaigning to undermine parents”.
In response, Sunak said he shares Miriam Cates’ concerns and announced an urgent review into the issues she raised. “I’ve asked the Department for Education to ensure that schools are not teaching inappropriate or contested content in RSHE… Schools should also make curriculum content and materials available to parents”.
And while we’re on the subject of wonderful women in Westminster, Rosie Duffield MP also had a question for Rishi Sunak this week.
She asked him if he agreed with her that voters in the forthcoming local elections have every right to question candidates about women’s rights. “Does he believe that as representatives of their political parties all candidates must answer those questions honestly, politely and with respect while standing on a voter’s doorstep?”
Sunak replied by saying that she had raised an excellent point and said that he ‘wholeheartedly agrees’ with her. “These are important questions; voters deserve to have clear and straightforward answers to them.” He added that Rosie Duffield would have his ‘full support’ in the continuance of her campaign and he looked forward to debating this issues during the local elections.
The Truth Is Not A Crime
A judge has quashed the conviction of an evangelical Christian preacher previously found guilty of ‘misgendering’ a trans-identified male.
Last year Dave McConnell from Wakefield in West Yorkshire was convicted by a magistrate of causing harassment, alarm or distress to Farrah Munir, a 19-year-old trans-identified male. McConnell was preaching in a public place when he addressed Munir as ‘a gentleman’ and ‘a man’.
This week, crown court judge, Anthony Hawks, overturned the magistrate’s previous decision, commenting, “It is not an offence to insult someone”.
Progress In Norway
The Norwegian Healthcare Investigation Board (NHIB) has expressed serious concerns over the medicalisation of dysphoric children, stating that the current ‘gender affirming’ guidelines are not evidence based and in need of revision.
In its report, the NHIB insists that future guidelines must rely on a systematic review of evidence and that all hormonal and surgical interventions must be restricted to research settings to ensure clear protocols, safeguarding & adequate follow-up.
Petition Matters
Remember the petition set up by Sex Matters which calls on the government to overhaul the Equality Act 2010 and clarify the characteristic of ‘sex’?
Well, it’s reached over 100,000 signatories (105,142 at the time of writing) and will be debated in Parliament.
The Daily Mail reported on the petition’s success.
It also got a mention in the House of Lords this week, courtesy of Baroness Ludford who commented that she supported the petition and its aims. “I believe we do need a change in the law… It is not transphobic or bigoted to call for this legal clarification.”
Imagine what the world could have achieved without the constant erosion of civil society by ideological ‘transgenderism’ in the last decade! The amount of money, energy, time and space given over to its promulgation, and the necessary and courageous pushback is -- staggering. Billions of dollars, billions of words, countless hours of work. For what? This ideology will be defeated, but the toll taken is nearly inestimable. The only possible positive spin is that we’ll exit out of the dark age of ‘gender’ ideology with a more realistic knowledge of the extent of woman and child hatred, and thus be more able to combat it. We’ll also better heed Carl Jung’s warning about the dangers of mass psychosis — especially in the age of the Internet.
Isn't it great that there is good news! Miriam cates and Rosie Duffield are amazing women. I adore the dogs they are gorgeous
