Women Won’t Wheesht
The most joyful thing to report from last week is surely the amazing show of feminist strength at #WomenWontWheeshTInThePark in Glasgow on Tuesday.
A wonderful coming together of women, not only from all over Scotland but from far and wide, to support the courageous Marion Millar and to stand up for women’s rights.
There was a range of fantastic speakers…
And some brilliant male allies.
If you weren’t able to be there, you can enjoy it on YouTube!
And if you’re inspired by this wonderful protest on Glasgow Green, you might want to help @ForwomenScot with the crowdfunder for their appeal in November. Every penny counts.
Sunlight Continues To Pour In
Helen Joyce’s book, Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality, is at No 7 on The Times Bestseller list.
What a Good Idea!
And speaking of this must-read book, Sex Matters have set up a brilliant scheme whereby we can ensure those in positions of power and influence receive a copy.
The Floodgates Are Opening
Baroness Jenkin, a trustee of the Fawcett Society and one-time Stonewall prize nominee, explains why she has changed her mind on the gender debate and self-identification.
"I find myself increasingly at odds with the doctrines from organisations such as Stonewall… I have realised that changes were slipping through without proper scrutiny, because people like me had been unquestioning about progress on equalities."
She was supported by Baroness Deech who commented, “We need… to consider the consequences of transwomen sharing spaces formerly reserved for women. We must also consider competition in women’s classes in sport and single-sex female spaces in hospitals, prisons and refuges”.
And The Nominations Are…
Hannah Barnes and Deborah Cohen have been nominated for this year’s Medical Journalists’ Association Awards for their fearless reporting on the unfolding scandal of the Tavistock & Portman’s Gender Identity Development Service.
Women Won’t Wheesht Across The Pond
Our sisters in the USA have been protesting the inclusion of males in women’s sports in New York City this week.
And Finally…
(NOTE FROM GRAHAM: Thanks to everyone who complained to the Times about my disappearing comments problem. They reinstated it and all is well.)
I saw that Joyce's book is selling well in the 'law' section of the Amazon - you have got to think this is a must-read for anyone giving legal advice to corporate clients. These corporates are lazy in their race for diversity and inclusion, why do they fly all the queer ideology flags rather than sponsoring teachers or schools? They need to do more ground-up work, not just easy tickbox willy waving.
"Sex Matters have set up a brilliant scheme whereby we can ensure those in positions of power and influence receive a copy."
That's the way to do it...get the message out.
