Monday 26th October - Witch Burning in Edinburgh
Edinburgh Labour Students published a (now deleted) statement via their social medial accounts condemning Ann Henderson for attending an online WPUK event.
Ann Henderson is the rector of Edinburgh University, only the second woman to hold the post in 170 years. One of Scotland’s first female train drivers, she is a long-standing Labour Party and trade union activist and she currently sits on the Scottish Labour Party Executive.
This week Edinburgh Labour Students issued a statement condemning her for attending a WPUK webinar, Sex and the Census, on 18th October.
The group’s statement also repeated some serious and wholly unsubstantiated allegations about WPUK which it first made on Facebook in August 2018.
WPUK wrote to Edinburgh Labour Students and issued a statement about their allegations.
“We regret that students at a such a highly regarded university can have learnt so little about academic rigour as to perpetrate such unfounded slurs so carelessly and with the aim of impugning the reputation of a longstanding activist for equality and justice.”
Edinburgh Labour Students removed the statement they published on 26th October but they have not replied to WPUK’s email nor offered any apology. Furthermore, the original defamatory comments remain visible on their Facebook page.
Tuesday 27th October - The Met’s Special Mis-gendering Squad
Masked within a very emotive article about the nasty bullying of a trans-identified teenager, the BBC reported on the new ‘hate crime’ advisers at the Metropolitan Police Force.
“The Met said it was appointing 250 advisers specialising in LGBT+ hate crime who would be trained to recognise the issues faced by London's transgender community.”
However, what the article fails to explain is that so-called transphobic hate crime is legally defined as "Any incident / criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice against a person who is transgender".
“Perceived by the victim” is a deeply concerning phrase when you consider the staggering array of things which can be considered ‘hate’ by the trans lobby. The article actually lists ‘deadnaming’ and ‘misgendering’ (otherwise known as telling the truth) as examples of ‘transgender abuse’.
Furthermore, The College of Policing’s Hate Crime Operational Guidance requires that any report of ‘hate’ must be recorded, even if the incident is not investigated or the alleged perpetrator offered an opportunity to give evidence.
How can we trust these statistics when a ‘hate crime’ is defined by the alleged victim, not by the law, and the police have to record even unsubstantiated reports?
And even if we were to trust the numbers, does the figure of 283 so-called transphobic hate incidents in the past year warrant 250 special staff? Particularly when The Met seems so strapped for cash?
Wednesday 28th October - UN Women: “Why Can’t You Just be Nice?”
UN Women believes feminism means women and girls should be groomed into prioritising male desires ahead of their own safety and wellbeing.
This organisation is supposed to protect and empower women and girls. Instead, it’s setting them up for a lifetime of subservience, gaslighting and abuse.
Thursday 29th October - Uncle Sam’s Ministry of Truth
Abigail Shrier described the various attempts to suppress her book and its challenging of gender identity ideology.
Shrier's book, Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, examines the phenomenon of teenage girls identifying as trans, discussing possible causes and the devastating effect it can have.
Even as soon as this book was published, Amazon blocked sponsored advertisements for it and media outlets refused journalist requests to review it. Joe Rogan spoke to Shrier for his podcast, causing Spotify to debate pulling the episode from its site.
A concerned parent erected a billboard in Los Angeles, hoping to promote the book and prompt a discussion around it. This encouraged other parents to set up a GoFundMe page in the hope of financing more billboards in different areas. The account was immediately shut down.
But it seems that GoFundMe are fine with raising money for vulnerable teenage girls to have their healthy breasts removed.
Perhaps most disturbingly, When Sean Scott, a member of the National Association of Science Writers, mentioned the book on the association’s online forum, he was expelled from it. According to its own website, “NASW fights for the free flow of science news.” So why is it so determined to pretend this book doesn’t exist?
As Shrier herself says, “Commonsense debate is being strangled by a woke orthodoxy. My book contains not a word of hate. I explored a medical issue and offered a considered view. How many other issues will you never hear about? How many journalists have already abandoned the pursuit of truth?”
You can watch Graham’s interview with Abigail Shrier here.
Friday 30th October - Harry Potter & PJs of Actual Violence
Earlier in the week Los Angeles based underwear company, MeUndies, announced its new Harry Potter collection.
The Twitter Gender Stasi immediately went into meltdown.
Particularly outraged was Elizabeth Tobey. She has a blue tick. (No, me neither, but she’s the Director of Marketing at Octopart, “the fastest searchable parts data platform for electronic components”, apparently.)
Elizabeth seems to think that Hufflepuff knickers cause “Violence against trans folx”…
…But that males playing on women’s sports teams pose no safety risk whatsoever.
Sadly, MeUndies caved in to the trolls and had to issue the usual grovelling apology.
Saturday 31st October - Why Are We Still Fighting for Women’s Spaces?
THE TIMES: The government has promised that women will be able to access female-only toilets in public buildings.
“Evidence has shown that women face increasing difficulties accessing single-sex lavatories because many have been converted into “gender neutral” ones.”
Robert Jenrick, the Communities Secretary, announced a review into the number of public lavatories across the country. He said, “We want to maintain safeguards that protect women and the proper provision of separate toilets, which has long been a regulatory requirement, should be retained and improved.”
This is good news, of course, but it should never have been necessary.
Women had to fight long and hard to secure public facilities for their sex. Without them, they were tied to the home and unable to take part in public life, a deliberate subjugation known as ‘the urinary leash’. The provision of public toilets for women was vociferously opposed and ladies toilets were even vandalised when built.
Over a century later and women having our own toilets is still making men angry.
Sunday 1st November - Tax Payers Unwittingly Funding Gender Propaganda
THE TELEGRAPH: Government agencies and public bodies are paying thousands of pounds a year to become Stonewall 'Diversity Champions'.
The Telegraph has analysed Stonewall’s list of diversity champions and found that it includes around 250 institutions which are funded by the tax payer. These include the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Office, the Department for Education, the Ministry of Justice, 57 local authorities, almost 30 police forces and more than 50 NHS organisations.
The amount paid to Stonewall by individual organisations is undisclosed but the paper estimates that the taxpayer is funding Stonewall by at least £600,000 per year.
Being one of its ‘diversity champions’ involves being trained by Stonewall and implementing Stonewall-recommended policies. So public bodies are being influenced by a political lobby group which aims to replace 'sex' with 'gender identity' and the tax payer is shelling out for it.
How on earth are they getting away with this?
See you next week.
I also found the Facebook page for the Edinburgh Labour students and posted the following:
"You are completely insane. Dr Henderson is the Rector of your university. It is not your place to bully her or tell her what meetings she may or may not attend. You are only just older than children and have apparently not made the transition to a mature, impartial evaluation of both sides of a debate, as would be expected from students at such a highly ranked university. You are there to learn, not to scold."
You cannot share a link on Medium if it has anything to do with feminist current, or Glinner, or you will immediately have the comments/story seized. I've already had two accounts shut down for saying JK Rowling was not transphobic and quoting her actual words. Please do not give your money to Medium, it's run by the same nest of misogynists as Twitter.
