Hello and a very happy new year to you all. Despite being full of cheese, barely able to rise from the chaise longue and still unsure what day it is, I’ve managed to round up a few of the good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
Westminster Won’t Wheesht
The Scottish Gender Recognition Reform Bill is still a long way from the finish line; this week the media has been full of opposition to it and plans to prevent it from becoming law.
The Times reported that the UK government is discussing with law officers how the Holyrood bill would affect the Equality Act 2010.
It’s understood that Scottish Secretary, Alister Jack, is waiting on guidance from Lord Stewart of Dirleton, the advocate-general for Scotland, before taking legal action to prevent Scotland’s gender bill from receiving royal assent.
A UK government source told The Times, “I understand the advocate-general for Scotland’s interim advice is that the Scottish government may have spilt into reserved matters, which makes a court case more likely”.
Writing in The Times Iain Macwhirter commented, “On the face of it, Jack has every reason to refuse royal assent for legislation that will adversely impact on the law as it is applied in the rest of the UK… There is only one place that this issue can be resolved and that is in the Supreme Court. The UK government should withhold royal assent to the gender reform act and allow it to go for judicial review”.
The Lady’s Not Affirming
Despite newspaper reports to the contrary, Theresa May has denied that she supports the Scottish bill.
A spokeswoman for Theresa May, MP for Maidenhead, insisted that she is opposed to the bill. “She does not agree with Nicola Sturgeon’s legislation and is particularly concerned about the consequences it could have for children in Scotland and across the UK.”
The People Have Spoken
The Daily Express polled its readers on the issue, asking them “Should Rishi Sunak block Scotland’s gender bill?”
The result was overwhelming with 95% of respondents - over ten thousand people - agreeing that Sunak should block the bill.

“This is a movement that can’t survive scrutiny and this last year it’s had a lot of scrutiny and it’s not turning out well for them.”
Hoorah For Terf Island & Its Indomitable Women
Great article from our friend, Jo Bartosch, celebrating this year’s huge successes of British women over the gender cult, most notably, Stephanie Davies-Arai, JK Rowling, Maya Forstater, Allison Bailey and Posie Parker.
“As 2022 draws to a close, it’s time to raise a glass of eggnog to these no-nonsense middle-aged women speaking truth to power. Over the past 12 months, these Amazonians in sensible shoes have shone a light on the activities of trans lobby groups in courtrooms, workplaces and the public square. And thanks to their efforts, the era of ‘no debate’ on the trans issue has melted into a grubby puddle.”
And Finally….
Wishing you peace, joy and every success in 2023.
That poll gives me so much hope - 95% of the respondents do not want self ID!!! Happy New Year to me! 2023 is gonna be the year the TERFS win!
60% of Scots don’t want self ID, yet misogynistic transmaiden Sturgeon and the hateful SNP, Greens and Labour svoted it through. Labour voted it through even though the amendment that Labour voted for wasn’t in, they still voted it through. Good to see two Labour women voted against it.
