A few of the week’s news stories to keep our spirits up.
Laurel Continues To Peak The World
After Hubbard crashed out of the Olympics, failing to register a successful lift, there was much discussion about the unfairness of trans-identified males in women’s sports.
Suzanne Moore in The Telegraph.
“Hubbard did not win a medal but she did take a place from an 18-year-old who might have done, Roviel Detenamo… What I cannot fathom is Hubbard’s motivation, because it looks like a very male sense of entitlement. What was to be gained for this child of a millionaire to beat women half their age?”
Julie Bindel in The Spectator.
“Hubbard took the place of Kuinini Manumua, a 21-year-old woman of colour who had trained for years. This would have been her first Olympics. Remember her name.”
The Times focused on the legal implications of allowing males into female sports.
“Hubbard’s selection for the New Zealand team has reignited fears that international sports bodies could face a rash of litigation over the inclusion of transgender athletes in the previously binary world of male and female competition.”
Sky News interviewed sports scientist, Tommy Lundberg, lecturer and researcher at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
“We know from research that there is no therapy that can eliminate the male advantage acquired through male puberty. Then I agree that the [IOC] policy is not fit for purpose... Current evidence suggests we cannot have inclusion and fairness at the same time.”
US journalist, John Stossel, produced this great report.
Edie Wyatt in The Australian Spectator described the press conference at which weightlifting medal winners, Emily Campbell, Li Wenwen and Sarah Robles were asked about Laurel Hubbard’s inclusion on the NZ women’s team.
“Pretending that a person with a receding hairline, hairy armpits and the bulge of a penis is a woman may give progressives a warm fuzzy feeling, but girls know this does not look like them, nor does it look like their mother. Little girls see a middle-aged powerful white man that the female athletes have to shut up about. I, for one, refuse to lie about this.”
#NoThankYou
Let’s just remind ourselves of Sarah “No Thank You” Robles’ golden moment.
And just when we thought we couldn’t love her more…
The Guardian Gets A Slap On The Legs
The Times pulled The Guardian up on its puerile stunt of omitting JK Rowling’s birthday from its birthdays column last weekend.
NHS Policy To Be Reviewed
Health Secretary, Sajid Javid, has intervened on NHS guidelines re gender identity.
Last week it was revealed that the NHS’s policy of allowing trans-identified males to be accommodated on female wards meant certain trusts could allow convicted sex offenders access to vulnerable women.
Sajid Javid, has ordered a review into these guidelines. He commented, “It’s not wrong to look at whether guidance is right, or how it’s being applied, to reassure everyone. I’ve asked the Department of Health and Social Care for fresh advice”.
Swell Of Support For Papa Terf
There has been tremendous support for ‘Based Grandpa’, Don Sucher, the Vietnam veteran and comic store owner who stood up to trans-identified male bully, Tiesa Meri Meskis, and had the guts to say out loud that the emperor is naked.
Antifa rent-a-mob cancelled its planned action when it became obvious they’d be massively outnumbered by Don’s supporters.
The TERF Collective landed an interview with the man himself.
Bonus Good News!
Oh yeah? The ‘handful of bigots’ have raised £185,000+ to challenge the Scottish government. There are three days left to raise the remaining 5000 so if you haven’t yet contributed, please do!
And Finally…
…Double Whammy!
Thanks JL, a little light in the gloom ❤️ Love Don Sucher!
Antifa cancelled when they saw that 'people' would protect the shop? LOL. They cancelled when they realized it was a bunch of blokes and not just women they could bully with the media cheering them on.
