A Week in the War on Women: Monday 18th September - Sunday 24th September GOOD NEWS SUPPLMENT
Yet again, our cup runneth over with good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
Home Truths
Speaking in the House of Commons this week, Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, hit out at police officers engaging in political and ideological campaigning.
She was responding to Don Valley MP, Nicholas Fletcher, who commented that the police would solve more crime “If they started putting more bobbies on the beat and stopped promoting unscientific ideologies”.
Braverman replied, “My honourable friend is quite right. We pay the police to fight crime... We do not pay them to wave flags at parades, to dance with drag queens or to campaign. That’s why I finally ended all association with Stonewall at the Home Office and why I expect all PCCs [police and crime commissioners] and chief constables to focus on cutting crime and rebuilding confidence, not playing politics”.
The Noes Have It
A few weeks ago we reported on a Dublin primary school at which children are being instructed to use ‘gender neutral’ pronouns for their female teacher.
The Irish Mirror polled its readers to ask if they believe school children should be forced to use ‘gender neutral’ pronouns for a ‘non-binary’ teacher. The result was a resounding NO. A total of 3,143 readers, representing 88% of the vote, said ‘No’ to they/they pronouns for primary school teachers.
Good News Down Under
Earlier in the year we reported on Australian women’s rights activist, Kirralie Smith. She is the spokeswoman for a group called Binary Australia which campaigns to protect women and girls from the harms of gender identity ideology.
For protesting against trans-identified male, Riley Dennis, competing in women’s soccer, Smith was served with an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) courtesy of the New South Wales Police.
However, when the case returned to Burwood Local Court in Sydney this week, the police withdrew their application and the AVO was dismissed.
“We won!!!!!!”, Smith posted on social media. “It is not violence to defend women’s spaces or sport.”
Sex Matters In Kansas
The state of Kansas will no longer allow trans-identified people to alter the sex recorded on their birth certificates.
This week the state Department of Health and Environment decided that birth certificates cannot be altered to reflect ‘gender identity’ due to legislation passed earlier this year which defines male and female based only on biology.
Leaving Them Kids Alone in California
In more good news from the US, the Governor or California, Gavin Newson, has vetoed Assembly Bill 957 which would have required a family court to consider a parent’s ‘affirmation of the child’s gender identity’ when making custody and visitation decisions.
Kara Dansky wrote, “To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time the governor has vetoed a bill that was being advanced by Senator Wiener to abolish sex at the altar of ‘gender identity’”. She added that, while a legislative override is still possible, “This veto is a big win for the movement to stop the abolition of sex”.
Sex Matters In Education
The EHRC has revised its previous advice for schools about sex and gender ideology.
Last week we reported that the EHRC admitted its previous advice for schools - that referring to a ‘previously female pupil’ as a girl would be ‘direct discrimination’ - was inaccurate.
This week the EHRC has amended its 2014 Technical Guidance for Schools in a move towards prioritising sex over gender identity. The revised guide advises schools that they will not break the law by refusing to affirm a child’s new name and pronouns. It also reminds schools that they are legally obliged to provide separate changing rooms for boys and girls. Furthermore, advice that ‘misgendering’ is direct discrimination has been withdrawn completely from the guide.
Terf Island
A new study shows that more people in Britain are now rejecting gender ideology.
The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has tracked public opinion in the UK for decades. New data just published shows that people are not buying gender woo. For example, only 30% of those surveyed said that someone with a trans identity person should be permitted to alter the sex on their birth certificate, a fall from 53% four years ago.
Oh, Canada
Protests over the teaching and promotion of gender identity ideology in schools took place in 77 Canadian cities on Wednesday.
The ‘1MillionMarch4Children’ campaign advocates for the elimination of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculum, the use of ‘preferred pronouns’ and mixed sex bathrooms in Canadian schools.
Its mass protest across Canada on Wednesday 20th September was a huge success and saw social media deluged with photographs and video footage. People gathered in their thousands across the country to raise their voices against the harms of gender identity ideology.
In Ottawa…
In Calgary…
In Toronto…

In Abbotsford…
Huge congratulations to the organisers and everyone involved.
Parliamentary Truth Or Dare
Ahead of the next general election (whenever that may be) a new campaign has been launched to ask MPs and candidates “What is a woman?”.
An newly created apolitical campaign group, What is a Woman, is planning to meet with all MPs and parliamentary candidates to ask their definition of the word ‘woman’. Their answers will be recorded and uploaded to a website which voters will be able to view.
Swimming goddess and women’s rights legend, Sharron Davies MBE, has been appointed as the group’s first ambassador. She said this campaign would show voters “If their MP will stand up for women”.
Great stuff once again, JL. Remember, peeps, don’t give your vote to anyone who thinks a bloke can turn into a woman.
So nice to see all that good news, it’s put a smile on my face this morning
