Yet another jam-packed bumper edition! Here’s just a handful of the good news stories from the gender beat this week. Enjoy!
See You In Court
There is to be a legal challenge to Brighton’s Rape Crisis Centre Survivors’ Network over its policy of including trans-identified males. The brilliant Naomi Cunningham of the Legal Feminist has been instructed in this ‘groundbreaking’ case.
You can read more about the case and contribute to the Crowdjustice fund-raiser here.
Respect My Sex
It’s been a fantastic week for the Respect My Sex campaign, as detailed in this thread:
Word is spreading.
Women all over the country are finding their voice.
Politicians are running scared.
And efforts to silence us aren’t proving as successful as they used to be.
The NI Women's Rights Network is a grass-roots organisation speaking up for women and girls in Northern Ireland. They’ve been doing some amazing work.
Check out their fantastic ‘Respect My Sex’ billboards. One in Belfast:
One in Derry:
And how wonderful is this? Venus comes to Belfast’s Black Mountain!
The Future Is Rosie
Rosie Duffield, fabulous as always, spoke out about Labour’s policies on gender identity issues which are making ‘complete idiots’ of the party.
“The public are having these conversations… We need to have an answer, it’s not going to go away.”
Reed In The Room
It seems there’s another Labour MP who isn’t afraid to define what a women is. Speaking on GB News, Shadow Justice Secretary, Steve Reed, was unequivocal in his adherence to biological reality.
Clare Muldoon asked him to define the word ‘woman’ he replied, "Oh my goodness me, of course I know what a woman is… A man has a penis and a woman has a vagina.”
Private Eye Nails Owen, Again
Private Eye are standing strong against a certain Twitter bully and his ‘misleading quasi-denials’ over the investigation into his conduct.
“Although there is no legal definition of bullying, it can be described as unwanted behaviour from a person or group that is either offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting.”
Ladies That Lunch
Lots of women showed their support for JK Rowling and other sheroes of the gender wars by having unsupervised lunches! Love and solidarity to you all.
Women were even lunching down under.
Glinner Of Hope
Don’t miss Graham on Dan Wootton’s show.
And on Free Speech Nation.
And Finally…
After such a fantastic week, I think we deserve a bonus ‘And Finally’…
It's so great to see Respect My Sex everywhere. Haven't seen much of it where I live in Scotland yet but someone is putting stickers up on all the lights saying 'Woman: Adult Human Female'. So if that's you, you make me smile every time I see them. Sometimes I wish I had the guts to take a proper stand but it's so scary.
The birdie with the "new shoes " on is like Jen in the IT Crowd.
