Transpositions: December Book launch

On 2nd December 2022, and despite the best efforts of Eventbrite to hinder this event by removing the ticket-selling listing from their pages immediately after it had sold out, an audience gathered at Conway Hall in London to celebrate the launch of the book, ‘Transpositions: Personal Journeys into Gender Criticism’ - a collection of narratives from women and men about how they first became aware of the conflict around ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ and how they decided to make their voices heard.

The book itself was the brainchild of barrister Sarah Phillimore, who enlisted the help of digital artist Al Peters, to assist in the collection and collation of an assorted assemblage of almost 150 varied and valued voices.

We think this publication will stand as a historical artefact for the generation to come as well as a celebration of those here and now, who found the courage to speak against an ideology which has captured much of the Western World.

The event featured several notable speakers, among them our keynote speaker, Graham Linehan.

We managed to video-record the event for posterity, and the intrepid Mr Peters ‘cobbled together’ the speeches and added some titles and some dodgy music.
