Another bumper edition jam-packed with good news from the gender beat. Enjoy!
Leaving Them Kids Alone
There was some extremely important news from The Netherlands this week.
The Dutch parliament has voted in favour of a government investigation into the ‘Dutch protocol’, now referred to as so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ for minors, over concerns about its efficacy & implementation.
As lawyer and gay rights activists, Dennis Kavanagh points out, “This is seismic really. For the Dutch Parliament above all parliaments to want to look again at this protocol tells you concerns in this area are not some far out conspiracy. Serious and legitimate questions are now being raised globally.”
Indeed, another European country has started wising up to the dangers of medicalising gender confused children.
In Norway, the directors of the country’s four health regions are demanding restrictions on the provision of puberty blockers, hormone treatment and so-called ‘gender affirming’ surgeries for children and young people, deeming such medical interventions to be experimental.
Meanwhile, in the UK, the NHS has issued an ‘urgent warning’ to doctors over dodgy offshore gender clinic, Gender GP.
An urgent safety alert has been issued to clinicians in London, warning them not to work with Gender GP and instructing them not to prescribe puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones on its advice.
GPs in south east London were told that they “Should not engage with Gender GP as advised by NHSE”. According to The Telegraph, this warning has led to calls for GPs right across the health service to be barred from working with Gender GP.
Barnes Storming
Hannah Barnes’ book, Time to Think, is soon to be available in paperback.
Time to Think, which details the scandal of the Tavistock gender clinic, is to be updated with a ‘new chunky epilogue’ and published in paperback next month.
It can be pre-ordered from Amazon and Waterstones.
Within These Walls
The Prime Minister has intervened over the recording of the sex of trans-identified male criminals.
This week is was revealed that the horrific crimes of convicted killer, Scarlet Blake, were recorded by police as committed by a female. Downing Street has stepped in to instruct the authorities that trans-identified males convicted of a crime must be recorded as men unless they have legally changed their gender and hold a GRC.
Of course, no male, whatever certification he holds, should have his crimes recorded as female. But this is a step in the right direction and suggests the Prime Minister is aware of the strength of public feeling on this issue.
Heroine Right On Cue
Following in the footsteps of the steel-spined Lynne Pinches, another female pool player has refused to play against a trans-identified male.
This week, Irish pool champion and number 1 seed, Kim O’Brien, forfeited her place in the European Pool Championships final after refusing to compete against trans-identified male player, Harriet Haynes.
A video of Kim’s concession was captured in a video and posted online. Kim shook hands with Haynes just before the final was due to begin. She left the table to loud applause and cheering and a woman in the audience shouted to her, “For all the women out there, well done”.
SEEN And Not Herd
There is a new SEEN organisation in town, this time for the sex realists and gender critical people who work in Parliament.
Parliament SEEN is a new Sex Equality and Equity Network for all Parliament employees. “We will provide a much needed voice and source of support for all those who work in Parliament who hold lawful sex realist and gender critical views.”
Give them a follow on X (formerly Twitter) and/or drop them an email and look out for more information soon.
Glinner Of Hope
Don’t miss Our Graham speaking to Sasha White on her YouTube channel this week.
And don’t forget that Graham’s memoir, Tough Crowd, is still available from Amazon, The Express shop, Lightning Eye, Waterstones, Blackwells and all other discerning outlets. (There are also audio versions available on Audible and Spotify too.)
You might not get many comments for a while today because everyone is talking about the WPATH files, so I just thought I’d say thanks JL because there are some really good pieces of news here, especially from the Netherlands.
yes thanks JL, I just saw the WPATH thing and Stella talking about it. We all know and feel it so there’s no much point in saying anything anymore but the children and people ruined by this and encouraged to damage their bodies by trusted doctors and the like. Words can not express the sadness.
I get why my mp and school leaders don’t listen to me but i don’t understand how they can ignore the voices of such esteemed commentators. Its pure politics and pure neglect of their basic duties. To turn a blind eye to such obvious crimes against vulnerable people. I get why men want to enlarge their world at the expense of women- because men can be such a selfish and cruel group, but to use children and vulnerable adults to expand one’s world and opportunities is unforgivable. The idea that some children are taught that their beautiful little bodies and thoughts aren’t right fills me with sorrow. Lets hope our leaders actually start to listen. Some people’s rights don’t matter in this world. Really upsetting.
